Well, another of the canal era structures in my town is gone. The reason, to build an observation area for the Mayors ego trip park. What will we be observing? A river that is always muddy and the smoke coming off the power plant? And yet, the state has thrown $1.2 million dollars at the town for this project..

  I guess the recent building wasn't as old as I thought, just seemed like it was there forever. Still, with this 'revitalization' plan our town is taking, not much is going to be left. The Ohio and Erie canal is already filled in and soon all the remaining landmarks for it will be gone along with more of what little is left of the downtown. They are hoping new retailers and such will move into a rural area.. Good luck on that!
