I had a little dream last night that I was driving and the Talespin theme came on the radio. It was on all channels and the radio wouldn't shut off!
-
Yes-no?
-
I have both "The Bare Necessities" and the theme from Talespin stuck in my head today...

It's so nice that they play radio shows on weekends, only to run over them with crappy Ohio sports games! Almost makes me want to stream my music anymore....

Is anyone else here sort of tired and burnt out with Disney having its hands in almost everything entertainment lately? I can't get going for any of the new Marvel movies at all..

I tried to watch some Marvel films, but like others here, I've found I have different movie interests as I've grown older. I am a happy Disney shareholder, though, and think the company's acquisition strategy will add value over time. Next up I see Sony Pictures perhaps being acquired (for the "Spider-Man" license).

Woke up in the middle of the night with a migraine, now am sitting at home instead of doing my job for today. At least I got my Bally Astrocade dug out.

Started watching season one of Knight Rider and it appears KITT is equipped with an Intellivision in the second episode! Well, that isn't an Intellivision controller, though!

^ I remember that, too! And Mr. Wizard had a segment in which Atari 800 Pac-Man was played with nothing but an exposed CX-40 circuit board:

So, that particular version of Pac-Man showed up in at least three of my favorite shows.

I always loved the 8 bit version of Atari's Pacman. In that one Knight Rider seen the joystick almost looks like the old Odyssey 2 or TRS 80 joystick, but I don't think it's either one of those. It could be an old pong controller. It's so wild and cool to see our old systems show up in pop culture shows from that era.

I'm pondering a new rule of never trying to buy any vintage computers in Canton, OH. Just got a bit jerked around on another one up there at a resale shop. If you are going to have things set up, tag them clearly instead of making people ask for the price, then balking on them after bringing up eBay on your phone!

Well, I actually got a Minecraft update on my Switch after all! It seems an earlier update gave me the latest version of the game, which seems to still be supported.
-
I just found out that Minecraft will no longer be updated on the Switch and the only console they will continue updates on will be the Playstation 4. Bit of a bummer and great way to leave the Switch owners out of the loop!

If you own the original edition, Mojang says you can update free of charge: https://help.mojang.com/customer/en/portal/articles/2944851-minecraft-for-nintendo-switch-faq

So, it seems Amazon is buying up and redeveloping the properties from defunct malls for their distribution centers. I don't know why, but it almost seems ironic or strange to me. Good to see new jobs, but strange.

It seems the site of the Rolling Acres Mall in Akron, Ohio might very well be the next site for Amazon. Rolling Acres was really nice and even oddly neat in its ruined state before demolition in 2016. What was said up above about Walmart is definitely the truth. I really blame Walmart and the way it wrecked retail for the rise of Amazon.

Just tried out the first episode of 'Star Trek Continues' today. I liked it.
-
Is it me or is online shopping just boring and tedious?

Great, the latest update on Minecraft seems to have erased all the extra skins, including the Mario Mashup skins that came with the game! I'm now just stuck as Mario.

I'm still amazed at how much sound a Zenith Royal 2000 portable radio can put out. Pretty good unit for being the first US produced, all transistor AM-FM radio.
-
Just got the full series of 'Sledge Hammer!' on DVD delivered today. I'm trying not to laugh myself to death!

Had to have my 11 year old tiger cat (Calvin) put to sleep today after a month of trying to get him well. What we thought was a sinus infection turned out to be a cancerous growth in his left sinus cavity and an agressive one at that...

Thanks, everyone. I still have my little black cat, Spook, but Calvin was a neat little cat. He was a good lap and shoulder cat and also liked to snuggle with my mom at night in bed. (My allergies kept him from my bedroom.) Spook was always at odds with Calvin, but the past few weeks he made up with Calvin, which might have been an indicator there was much more wrong than we initially thought.

The trailer for the Lion King reboot is breaking viewing records on Youtube right now. I just can't get any excitement up for it myself...

Dusted off the 2600 for some play this evening. Persistant sore throat and issues just turned out to be a cold that settled there, thank goodness.

Looks like our local FYE is closing down for good. Glad I went today to get the Greta Van Fleet album and also scored the original Transformers Soundtrack on vinyl. Not the new movies, the 80's series!

That NCR Decision Mate V I got cheated on has yet to appear on eBay. Either the guy got cold feet or he already had a deal going with 'Sir Spams-A-Lot' on Craigslist. Either that or his wife found out what he did and caved his head in with the computer... >

Picked up a Newcomb School record player at a resale shop Saturday. A relube job and a new 6AV6 tube is all it took to bring it back to life. The best thing: It came from the school district where I went to school! They were still using some of these tube units when I was in grade school in the 80's.

Well, that stupid idiot who spams CL looking for vintage computers is now doing it on Facebook Marketplace as well. Now I know what he looks like and that he is from Akron, Ohio. Since he has been doing this, trying to buy any vintage computer in my area has become impossible!
-
A friend pointed me out to an NCR Decision Mate V for sale. Seller said he wanted $100 for it, but the price suddenly jumped to $300 by the time I got to the seller's house because he had seen them go for more than that on eBay. I wished him luck and walked back out the door. My friend isn't happy either, though it's not his fault!
-
Jeez. He should be paying YOU $100 to get that hunka out of his house! http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=299&st=1

Dusted off and am now listening to the only table clock radio I have ever allowed in the house, an early 50's Zenith Z733 FM-AM. Unlike most clock radios, it is actually more radio than clock!
