$1,900, damn! For something like this I would order the fastest shipping possible with insurance, DC number, and other stuff to prove that the buyer receive the package. When I order/sell stuff from overseas I would only do EMS (will always make it to its location, insurance, and you must sign the package in order to get it). In the USA I use priority mail for games. Systems and stuff like that I use UPS five-day ground (I never lost anything from them). Once again Curt I feel sorry for you, but Pay-Pal is just too useful for me. Edit: Don't want to be mean Curt but why you want to transfer $1,900 by PayPal? To me that's waaay too much money for a company to tranfer funds to. Personally I would only go up to $500 max when I want to use PayPal (to buy/sell only to good people), but anything higher I would use Money Orders and Checks.

The VCS proves you only need one button and a joystick for some serious fun.

I'm suprise May is already here! The weather is going to be warmer, and they'll be more gaming partys at my house. Anyway, I'm trying to wrap up my NGCD collection before CGE rolls in. Then I'll get most of the Atari games I need or the Genesis/Megadrive stuff.

And now the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u16o997bzJ8 The guy in the grey shirt: A man who's missing a lot of teeth, but will pawn you in Street Fighter II. The guy in the red shirt with black hat (Danny): The regular at the arcades, usually comes in on Fridays (when there's a lot of people), but he deside to stop by today and chill out. The guy in the black with glasses ("Moses" is his nickname): One of my best friends, and believe it or not he's Jewish (converted). We were talking about Gill from 3rd Strike half-way in the video. Cheers.

What bugging the manager can do at the mini-arcade
Fighter17 posted a blog entry in Unknown arcade titles from Fighter17
OK it's storytime from Fighter17! Five minutes away from my house is the bowling alley (the only one in my city). In most bowling allies there's a mini-arcade with some pinball and arcade machines. When I first walked in the arcade three months ago the selection was horrible. Bunch of redneck hunting games and this ultra lame bowling game from Incredible Technologies. The only OK one was this Ultracade machine which most of the emulation in the games were horrible (the arcade machine is just a MAME emulator with a bunch of games to choose from, all license). Also at the time they were two pinball tables, and my god they were breaking down fast. It was two Stern Pinball machines (NASCAR and something else). After seeing how bad were the selection of games, I went to the manager of the place and complain about it. Believe it or not, he agreed. Manager: "The problem is I'm not into arcade gaming, and I don't know where to start." Fighter17: "I can help." Manager: "Which should I do?" Fighter17: "For starters please remove those redneck hunting games, the lame bowling game, and those broken pinball tables." The manager said later on that these machines weren't making any money at all, but because he was so clueless he didn't know what to do. So later that day I explain to him some games/machines that'll make a lot of money. The Neo-Geo MVS was one of the best choices around and I did give him a list of MVS games to buy. I also help him out with the new pinball choices (because the two pinball machines were broken). After giving the manager the list of machines I left the bowling alley. For the next couple weeks I keep bugging the manager about it and he said "I don't have enough time at the moment." Two weeks ago I went back to the bowling alley and I saw the manager and he was happy. He said he just ordered new machines and they are going to come in two weeks. So today I went in the bowling alley. I was rushing to the mini-arcade section and my jaw just dropped. Three months ago the selection was shit, now it was a total 180. One redneck hunting game was replace by Area 51, the other one was replace by Raw Thrill’s Target: Terror Gold. The two broken pinball tables were replace by Terminator 2 Judgment Day (good game BTW), and Apollo 13 (OK I guess). Sadly the lame bowling game and the Ultracade machine were there, but next to them was a Neo-Geo one-slot with get this: Neo Drift-Out! Next to the Neo-Geo machine was Ms. Pac-Man, nice. The last machine was Off-Road Intersected or something like that (it’s from Midway and it looked gay). Most of the machines cost 25 cents for a credit. The light gun games, pinball machines, and that Off Road game cost 50 cents a credit. After I saw the selection I talked to the manager and he said this: ”Few days after we got them in we had tons of people spending a lot of money on these machines. The best part is that I’m making TONS of money out of them. That Neo-Geo machine is making the most. I guess that Neo Drift-Out game is popular with the folks. Anyway, thank you so much for the help.” I’m already bugging the manager for a MVS four-slot motherboard replacement with Metal Slug. -
Just played the beta: With some fine adjustments this could had been something.

Well for being the first vertical scrolling shooter I think it was OK. I never played the beta so I have no comment.

Note: English is not my strong point, so you'll find grammar errors and blah blah blah. http://www.armchairarcade.com/neo/ Different blogers post news stories up in the video game and the retro computing world (and other things as well). Co-Founders Matt Barton and Bill Loguidice really know their news. But really, it's a very good website for information that most people don't know about their video game habits. Cheers, F17

Which one is better, Dragon Lair or Cobra Command?
Fighter17 posted a blog entry in Unknown arcade titles from Fighter17
Note: English is not my strong point, so you'll find grammar errors and blah blah blah. Laserdisc fans (which are not many to being with) are so up the ante with Dragon Lair that it’s driving me crazy. Tell any fan what’s your favorite Laserdisc game and 80% of the time the answer will be Dragon Lair. Why they said Dragon Lair? It was most likely their first Laserdisc game they ever played in their lives. Remember the arcade graphics back in the 80s? When you saw movie-like graphics next to a Defender machine, what the ten year old is going to play? Most went with Dragon Lair because the graphics was just like a cartoon. Funny that Dragon Lair made over $100 million during its run was amazing. The game was just guessing, if you press the button or joystick at the wrong time, you’re dead. Most of those millions of dollars were made just from people guessing what’s the right time to push the joystick or press the button. After the success of Dragon Lair, they were plenty of crappy laserdisc games out in the market. Crap like Data East’s Bega’s Battle (which footage came from the anime movie Harmadedon) was made just to make a quick buck (and my god it bombed in sales so badly). After the failure of Bega’s Battle, Data East redeemed themselves by created (to me at least) one of the best Laserdisc games ever, Cobra Command. Cobra Command (with footage created by Toei Animation just for the game) is an arcade scripted shooter which you’re in a helicopter and you must shoot at the enemies when targeted. All the enemies come in order by the laserdisc (so you can’t have it random like Dragon Liar) and you must use your Vulcan and Missiles in order to destroy the enemy. When an enemy is targeted, try to hit it with the Vulcan and the Missiles at the same time. Vulcan will give you extra time to shoot the missiles. If the missiles are in lock with the enemy, the enemy will be destroyed. Remember this is a scripted shooter, so if you failed to destroy an enemy at a certain time, you’re dead. Also try to aim the enemy when targeted correctly. Failure to aim will result in death. After poorly typing up how to play the game, why do I think it’s better than Dragon Lair? Accessibility. Most of the younger retrogamer generation didn’t grow up knowing how to play Dragon Lair. So when they finally played it, they’ll get frustrated so quick that they’ll stop playing the game all together. Cobra Command is much better for the younger generation because it tells you when to shoot at the enemy and plus it’s actually challenging. Like Dragon Lair timing is a major part in Cobra Command. Not pressing the missile button at the right time will result in death. Also the first two levels are easy for newcomers of the game, but later the game gets really hard. Plus I like the fact you are killing enemies around the world is also a huge bonus as well. Great intro, good gameplay, and memorable scenes make Cobra Command a keeper. Air Raid or Atlantis 2 as trade bait for PS1 games? I got lots of "PS1 UBER RARE SHUMPS HTF C00L 3774 DOODZ +1 games I'll pawn off on ya for Air Raid or A2 anytime you want!! Are you being a little bit too much mean? Nope not at all. He stated... in case you didn't read... that his opinions and collecting desires are different then yours. He'd gladly give you lots of rare items from the PSX generation for an Air Raid or an A2. That simple. And my opinion: I don't collect stuff usually above Rarity 6 in the Atari 2600 world. USUALLY... but not always. If I came across a A2... I'd sell it before I sold an Air Raid cart. That much I do know. An A2 would be great to have, but it isn't THAT great compared to an Air Raid cart Ah I misread it. If I had Up 'n Down you better have DoDonPachi.

Man look how bad that cover art is. Can't believe people who founed Toaplan came from Orca (the people who made River Patrol for the arcades).

Nice on the Ice Cream bill. One of those games can help me get all the PSX shmups I need.

<br />Dragster is more than six seconds…..
Fighter17 posted a blog entry in Unknown arcade titles from Fighter17
Note: English is not my strong point, so you'll find grammar errors and blah blah blah. For being one of the first Activistion titles, Dragster for the VCS shouldn’t take you too long to finish. For being about a six second game, Dragster will not hold your attention for too long. Well, the game did hold my attention for two hours this morning. I don’t know why. Is trying to shift gears at the right time is really that fun? Trying to get less than five seconds is all that great? Well for me it is. Timing is everything, because you must change the gears at a certain time in order to get to the finish line quickly as possible. For being such a simple game, Dragster holds so much depth in shifting gears. Sure it might look meh by other Atari games, but for a game that timing is everything, this 50 cent game will keep you entertain for many hours to come. Short blog for a simple game with depth. F17 -

Thanks for the link. Yeah, the mouse is terrible for a replacement of the paddles. -
Ikaruga for Gamecube why so much?
Fighter17 replied to kevin242's topic in Modern Console Discussion
My Two Cents: Gamecube port has so much problems it's terrible: Missing Textures. Slowdown not in Dreamcast port. No TATE mode for the hardcore shmup fan. If you had the money, get the Dreamcast port on the double. -
What's more valuable, Air Raid or Atlantis II?
Fighter17 replied to homerwannabee's topic in Atari 2600
Atlantis II for me. If it came with everything (paperwork, T-Shirt, and the complete copy of the game itself), then it should be more than $5,000 in my book. -
