  1.

One of those games can help me get all the PSX shmups I need. ;)

Air Raid or Atlantis 2 as trade bait for PS1 games? I got lots of "PS1 UBER RARE SHUMPS HTF C00L 3774 DOODZ +1 games I'll pawn off on ya for Air Raid or A2 anytime you want!! :ponder:

Are you being a little bit too much mean?

    Nope not at all.

He stated... in case you didn't read... that his opinions and collecting desires are different then yours. He'd gladly give you lots of rare items from the PSX generation for an Air Raid or an A2. That simple.

And my opinion: I don't collect stuff usually above Rarity 6 in the Atari 2600 world. USUALLY... but not always. If I came across a A2... I'd sell it before I sold an Air Raid cart. That much I do know. An A2 would be great to have, but it isn't THAT great compared to an Air Raid cart

    Ah I misread it.

If I had Up 'n Down you better have DoDonPachi. ;)

  4. I think the day nerds start killing each other over Atari arguments is still very very far away, nobody is literally going to kill anyone. I'm sure it was a joke. Besides, it would be pretty hard to do over the internet, what are you going to do....SPAM him to death :D

When nerds start killing each other is when the end of the world is near.

  5. I know Quadrun is not the end-all be-all but might I remind you all a boxed one sold for a grand in the past (and I don't mean the Nigerian scam one that just sold). I don't think its too hard to assume that is still a very desireable piece and therefore a major piece in someones collection. The fact the market has shifted some means there is a living, changing community of collectors with different goals from time to time.

Considering I was selling systems at Christmas on ebay a few years back with 15 commons for 85-100 bucks, I don't think that is too far off. We buy wholesale, discount, bulk, value deals, etc. The average person does not. Antiquities in Caesars Palace sells old toys, games, etc. While I would never pay what they want for a Ms. Pac arcade does not mean what they are asking is beyond reasonable.

I have a feeling the ARS values on most things are towards the retail value of something. As for insurance value, my higher-dollar items are most certainly covered at retail value. The fact you can hunt for six months and find one for less is irrelavent.

    Just my .25

Almost everything goes up at Christmas time.

I recommend don't buy anything on ebay during the Christmas weeks. I saw more Ataris being sold for $100 than rare imports.

For example, I purchase plently of PS1 shoot 'em up imports (Gradius Deluxe Pack for example), and I got just about all of them at BELOW collectors value a week before Christmas!

Gradius Deluxe Pack for the PS1 usually goes for $80 in Japan, I got mine for $40 off ebay.

    Weird isn't?
