  1. Great can't wait to see a pic! This dude is a bullshiter He used to post under Codysgames and he likes making up stories. I think he is only 12 or 13 years old though so it's to be expected, I guess. Checking his old username...... Edit: Damn he's 12 years old. I'm suprise he didn't get an banned. The irony of that statement is classic. >.> To the 12 year old kid: Stay away from posting, you're making more of an fool out of yourself by each post.

  3. Thats a good idea. Mystery solved. Garry Kitchen did a hack of his own game. Oh cut me some slack. I herd weird things in the Atari world before.
  4. Don't own the game. Have something else?
  5. Weird, since that's the only good US Game that I like.

Well sadly I was fooled, but never herd of him before so I didn't know about his pervious fake stories.
  7. No, because I didn't do the mod. Talk to "FABombjoy" at the Digital Press forums, he did mines.
  8. So, you're planning on staying in your room all weekend? Nah, what I mean is staying away from their table, booth, or something like that. Nobody knows what I look like so I'll be cool. I just might hangout at the AtariAge booth, or just play the arcade machines all day. Im sure as soon as you open your mouth everyone will know exactly who you are. To tell you the truth I'm not an talker at all. I'm more of an action person. I'm going there just to buy, and play. I might just talk to a few people. Get some sigs from someone like David Crane, and help out some of the sellers packing up on Sunday.
  9. It might now answer everything about Air Raid, but having the letters "GK" should be Gary Kitchen.
  10. Sign me up. Check your PM. Edit: I was just finishing up playing Missile Control. It's a fun game once you get the hang of it. Edit 2: Aim your fire when the missiles (or eggs when playing Deflektor or whater) is up at the height of the enemies. When you aim your fire and hit the missile, it'll bounce off and go foward to the opposite direction.
  11. If that's the case bug him for the photos.
  12. If you friend was telling the truth he would had gotten that box flap. But that's just me.
  13. GK should be Gary Kitchen. The man who programed Space Jockey for US Games. Air Raid's source is based of the source code for Space Jockey (56% of Air Raid's source code is from Space Jockey). Fake, I have no idea. Interesting neverless.
  14. Try again, if it still pops up then stwich from IE to Firefox.

  16. I wish there's someone in the world who can mod tons of Ataris at one shot. Like it would be cool if more Ataris would support S-Video and Composite.
  17. It's crazy when dealing with rare games. Didn't someone have a box in storage, or has that years-old story been put to rest? I think that rumor has been debunked. Several carts have appeared over the years and no boxes, so I'm guessing it's like Eli's Ladder and there is no box. As for the scanline thing, If it's between NTSC and PAL wouldn't that make it PAL-M? So wouldn't that point to a South American origin for this game? To me that would make sense. Tempest Yes it would most likely be an PAL-M title (so it points to South America). If some people's copies of Air Raid plays perfectly fine on NTSC TVs, then what's the deal with the 580 scanlines? Playing an PAL game onto an NTSC TV gives you an rolling image. That photo of Air Raid playing played on the TV in the auction doesn't show any rolling issues whatsoever. Also the colors didn't change when playing on an NTSC TV. There's have to be more to the story than simply an hack. What wolves, I didn't do anything wrong. It's great to have friends you can ask for shipping. Didn't thought about it at all. Edit: Did anyone contact Garry Kitchen about Space Jockey and if he had any idea about Air Raid?

  19. Tip: do us a favor, do your homework and use the search function before you post: Air Raid contains 56% of the Space Jockey code. The topic of Air Raid has been discussed many times before here, and while we still do not know the whole story, the weird number of scanlines and the Space Jockey code sharing are established facts. Cheers, Marco Wait a minute. You said Air Raid shares 56% of Space Jockey source code right? How can you call a game a hack when just about all of the sprites were different (to some extent), and the shooting is vertical (not the other way around like in Space Jockey)? Of all the hacks I saw in my life, they were just graphical changes or enhancements, not a totally different game all together like Air Raid. I do admit that Air Raid plays the same like Space Jockey, but when the shooing direction is totally different than the original game (with also different sprites, and buildings than a moving mountain), I have my reasons. Also I only call a hack a real hack if the hack version shares at least 80% of the original source code.
  20. Classic Thanks for proofreading my terrible English. Shows how much common sense I have (hint: none).
  21. I herd getting Iron Soldier 2 is an bitch. Price is right.
  22. If you'd checked the forums, you would have found out that: Air Raid is a hack of Space Jockey (an elaborate one, but still a hack) NTSC has 525 scanlines, PAL has 625 scanlines, and Air Raid has 580 scanlines which shows it's, at best, not a normal / regular US NTSC release. The cart on eBay is the real deal, well as real as real goes in this case. Cheers, Marco Never knew about the scanline number. Well according to the auction the picture of the game looks just fine on an NTSC TV set. Then again most Atari titles don't cover the whole screen when playing on an SDTV set like I have. Edit: Are you kidding me? Air Raid is not a hack of Space Jockey! Edit 2: You think Air Raid is an jack of Space Jockey because it sounds similar to Space Jockey and the gameplay is somewhat silimar?
  23. Open up the damn thing of course. Can someone get this guy unbanned from DP, like pronto?? Nah forget it. They don't want me back (and it was my fault after all). I think I'll like this board a lot.
  24. Open up the damn thing of course.
