Profile of the ultimate collector?
Fighter17 replied to lance_miller's topic in Classic Console Discussion
If you collect more you play less. If you collect less you play more. I believe people just collect to show off how much money they have. The rule when it comes to collecting is that you'll never stop. That's how I see it. -

Twinkle Tale Gain Ground Herzog Zwei All JAP Megadrive complete. $95 shipped from Hong Kong (shipping was like $15, and no they are not boots). For those who don't know: Twinkle Tale is one of the rare Megadrive shooters for the system. The price tag is around $100 alone, but I got the game for half the price. -

Golf proved my point. 68k for 2D games please. And in the late 90s many 2D games that were release in the arcades use the 68k as the main processor.

Arcade please.

Should I get that Sega Saturn?
Fighter17 replied to atari2600land's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Loose Saturns goes for $10-$20. Boxed for $40-$60 (depending on the model). japanese saturns??... no, no i dont think so. much much more than that. try near and above 100. Dude, loose Saturns goes for $10-$20 in Japan. Boxed ones goes for $20-$40 in Japan. It's just the import sites making a profit. i was talking about the system not the games . while i agree with you for the most part on the games, there are some games i have worth a lot more than 40 bucks i can reasure you. ie: street fighter zero 3 and metal slug. I was talking about the systems too, not the game. Dude, loose Saturns goes for $10-$20 in Japan. Boxed ones goes for $20-$40 in Japan. That's the current rate for the most common JAP Saturn models. -
I think it was great that the game didn't work for you. I played it before and it was bad.

68k is only for 2D games period. Cave still use the 68k for their newly release shmups on their PCB boards.

Here's a different point of view from a 17 year old: I grew up in the translation of the 16-bit to 32-bit era. I remember being seven when the majority of kids either had a Playstation or the Saturn. I still remember them saying 3-D is much more funner than the 16-bit systems. When I finally played the Playstation and the Saturn for the first time, I didn't "get it." I didn't get all the woo-haa which was the 3-D graphics and stuff like that. To tell you the truth I thought the Playstation controllers had too many buttons on them. Remember, I was seven years old and I was already hating the 3-D games. So I continue playing the SNES and the Genesis thoughtout the 32-bit era until my father force me to give up both systems and gotten me the PS2. I have to admit the PS2 was fun at first, but later on it turned into "work." Gran Turismo 3 wasn't fun at all, and the majority of games were mostly the same. Having the old-school rush inside of me made me discover emulation. All the SNES and Genesis games I remember from the pass can be reborn once again on my computer. Also playing games which I never even herd of before was always fun. Soon I start playing more on the computer (emulation) than playing the PS2. Soon I start buying the 2D games which were release onto the PSX (Einhander, R-Types, Raiden Project) and the PS2 (like R-Type Final, etc.). So four years later and over 200+ games in the collection I own a Modded Genesis/Sega CD, Modded Neo-Geo CD, Modded PSX (I gave the PS2 to my order brother, it was lame), and a Modded Atari VCS Vader. I purchase a modded VCS not too long ago because the VCS emulators on the PC were not high in quality (and also the games were simple but fun). In the era of 360s and PS3s, I really perfer to play a 2D game because it's so damn simple. I perfer playing Seaquest than Halo anyday. That's why when you look at the PSX titles I own, the majority of them are shmups (Einhander, Raiden Project, Raystorm). When I look at all of my games together, I get the fuzzy feeling inside when I was five playing Sonic. Wish I grew up in the Atari era.

Beats me Bill. Gameplay is so not worth it. But hey whatever floats your boat I guess. -

I´m sure a lot of people agree with you on that. Most people I´ve talked to love it though. I´d put it in my top 10 of all-time best video games any day Personally the game didn't had too good of an frame rate. It gave me headaces.

Did anyone own the MegaJet?

True!..Huh , I was on ebay the other day checkin' out Sega's systems and contemplating buying a Saturn or Genesis with SegaCD or 32x. I would go with a Saturn just for Knights. NiGHTS. And yes, I agree. To tell you the truth I didn't like Nights too much.
