  1. All of those games done a really fine job in competeing against the 8 bit systems. Some of the same games I also thought were superior in visuals than the 8 bit systems. Just wish that games like this could have come around a year or so prior to 1989-1990. Maybe then Atari would have blown Nintendo out of the water. I do love my NES too though, but the 2600 and 7800 are the best.
  2. That's how I feel about it too. I'll be playing it for hours on end trying to beat it. I'm usually falling asleep while playing it after playing it for over 3-4 hours late at night.
  3. Really nice to know that the ending is just like the Arcade. I would have never known unless I beat it, which I am determined to do now. Have you beaten Road Runner for the system? Also, anothjer impressive title is Rampage for the 2600. I think the graphics are fine for the 2600, but I think it could have been a little better. The sound is okay, but other versions are superior. What mostly impressed me is that everything from the arcade was squeezed into this cart, where some of the 8 bit versions were missing some things that the 2600 included in their tiny cart. Rampage is impressive as well and shines as another great game for the system in my eyes. I ave beaten Rampage however. There just isn't an ending. The cities start recycling. I just wish I could beat Road Runner. I got that game when it first come out in 1989, and still haven't been able to beat it. The graphics are top of the line too, and has all the fun and excitement of the arcade with just a couple things left out. As arcade perfect as you can get for the 2600 though in a 16k game. A 32k game like Fatal Run would have suited Road Runner better. Just recently acquired Fatal Run by the way for the 2600. Another impressive game with lots of features. Very impressive for the 2600, but the cars should have been detailed a little better for a 32k game. Everything else looked great though.
  4. That one and Double Dragon are Slamming. It's ashame so many people dislike these games because of how hard they are, but the graphics are truly excellent for both of them. If Atari would have had all their games graphically done like this, they'd still be in business with home consoles.
  5. Thanks for the info. You helped me make my decision. If I decide to pick up a 2600, it'll be the junior.
  6. Know you can fry on the ols style but don't know if you can on the junior.
  7. Thanks again for the tips. You must be a video game genius to have pulled off these scores on all these extremely hard titles. I will use the tips you gave for this one as well.
  8. I once possessed the NES version and have to admit that I could play it far more easily than the 2600 version although graphically the 2600 version was possibly stronger I agree with you on that one. The graphics were just as good as the 8 bit systems versions for it. Just wish it were easier.
  9. does the game end when you reach over 999,000
  10. I actually thought it was a 7800 game at first. i thought they mislabeled the game. I only have a 7800 system.
  11. couldn't agree more with you.
  12. Wish I would have seen this 2 months ago. I jst paid a small fortune for a NTSC boxed version of this and sold my single cart I had to make up some of the difference I had to spend for the boxed set.
  13. Hopefully someone will make a 5200 version correcting the bug in it, or make a 7800 version that has the intermissions. It's frustrating when you are at the very high levels when this happens and makes you want to play the excellent 2600 version instead.
  14. you are right about the time being refreshed after a level. Thanks for your help and I will use the tips and check the info. out you sent. I'll probably be so excited that I'll let you know I accomplished beating it as well.
  15. Didn't know, thanks for the info. i'll have to research it and check it out.
  16. Congradulations on the victory. Job well done. I'll try the tips. Thanks.
  17. That is correct about Elevator Action II, and yes the sequel lost it's charm too.
  18. I'm also looking to trade or sell a reproduction copy of Ikari Warriors and a reproduction Crazy Climber.
  19. Don't know for sure on that issue, but they sure would look great on the 7800 and be cool to play. The game I would love to see on the 7800 would be Metal Slug 4, or even just the original Metal Slug. It would be watered down alot, but it would be an awesome game to play on the 7800. Commando + 100 times more fun.
  20. Game is in mint condition and is the fully playable 2600 version of the game. Label looks exactly like the original would look. It does state it is a reproduction cart on the cart in tiny white letters. Game looks Brand new and is just over one year old. If interested in purchasing this game or trading, please let me know. Jeff
  21. Have to agree ya'll did get some cool games that we didn't.
  22. That much I did know about it. It does look cool and in a better case, but I heard there was compatibility problems with just a few 2600 games. Like 3 or so. Didn't know which ones, or if it was any I had.
  23. only system is for the 2600. The game isn't fully completed, but playable. The game has no sound. The graphics are quite well done though. Don't know if the game will ever be completed though. You can find reproduction copies of the game every once in a while now, but they were easier to find and cheaper a couple years ago. I'm not sure exactly what you'd have to pay for one, but it would be expensive complete in box. You can check out info. on that game at www.atariprotos.com The Nintendo(NES) made a great arcade translation of the game too. I play it all the time on the NES. This game would rock on the 7800 if it existed though.
  24. If you have extra copies of those games and need a Mint condition Mean 18, let me know. I'll be glad to trade.
