    Rare Pal

I would also say that Donkey Kong is hard to find. I only have it loose. Donkey Kong JR on the other hand is dirt common. Also, Centipede is tricky, though as Mitch says it seems to be easier to find in Oz. Jobf.
  4. Hey! I have a Centipede "boxed" cart that I got from Australia a few years back that I've not seen anywhere since: It's a silver label cart, in a plastic bag with instructions behind it, with a piece of card sealing the bag at the top. On the card, it says "Atari Super Value". I assume that this must have been a pre-red label release range of cheaper (budget) games that were sold on racks (there is the little hole in the card for hanging).

    PAL Asteroids

I just noticed that there is no red label box scan on the database. I scanned the front and back of my box. I've zipped em up and made them available for download if you want to have a look. http://jobf.kicks-ass.org/files/asteroids.zip Jobf.

Err yeah Jo, but check my location...

    PAL Asteroids

Er.. collect for a little longer, and I'll think you'll find that the Red Label games are the most common type of label variation, due to the success that Atari had selling the JR through stores like Argos during the late 80's. Incidently, I have Asteroids CIB in both picture label & red label version.
  9. Marble Madness. Is it do-able? Its good on the SMS & NES, but I don't think its the 7800's specialist field??

    best looking carts

Telesys are pretty cool carts, as long as its the handle version with the colour label. My favourites though are the Avalon Hill releases. Cool cart case & label!
  12. Most 32n1's were a pack-in for the JR. Thats why you won't find a boxed one in the UK at least. However, for some reason it seems in Holland it was available separately in small quantities. The dutch guys should be able to give you more info.
  13. Matt: I'd be interested in some of those titles, to get boxes and instr. for my loose carts. From memory I'd like: Fight Night Mat Mania Joust Galaga Tower Toppler Maybe Xevious as well. What you looking for?

Yeh hehe, I wonder if anyone has bought the gold package yet...
  15. I was a co-organiser for Eurocon 2001 (www.geocities.com/eurocon2001) ,which we held in Lytham St Annes, just outside Blackpool in a Hotel. About 6-8 months prior to the event, we went around loads of hotels in the area for them to quote a party of 30 for use of a conference room and two nights accommodation. The cheapest we found (with facilities that met our needs) worked out at 100GBP per person, give or take. That included Dinner, lunch & B+B (so no food worries), 2 nights ensuite accommodation and use of the conference hall. Although London seems to be a popular choice for this con, I would think that you would find it expensive, and with the plethora of cheap flights to smaller airports, anywhere in the country is pretty good. Of note: We found it to be expensive to run a (residential) con in this country compared to other european countries. At Eurocon 99 in the Netherlands, the organisers rented a big chalet in the country that was self catering and held 30. The cost for this per person was about 30quid, for the whole weekend! We were looking for something similar when we were initially planning Eurocon 2001, but we found there isn't that type of accommodation readily available in the UK (at least at those prices!) HTH Steve.
  16. Yeah this is a good idea. I'd be up for some poster action.
  17. [Damn, this was meant to be a new topic. Ah well! ] As subject, can't find a PAL one for love nor money! I need this game! Someone mentioned that an NTSC Centipede is playable on a PAL system. Anyone with more info on this? Is there any/much graphic glitches. Finally, what your high score?!
  18. You can program in BASIC, draw pictures, make sounds, write text. That kinda thing. You can hook up a cassette deck and save stuff. One additional tape has been found in Australia, called E-Picture Mate or something - some sort of drawing package.
  19. Yep this is too much $$. In my opinion: Universum PAL Compumate: Rarity 3 Spectravideo PAL Compumate Rarity 5/6 Spectravideo NTSC Compumate Rarity 8
  20. The Channel F (which is earlier) was also available in the UK. As well as all those Pong clones by Grandstand and Radofin.
  21. OK, you are saying you have a 6 switch machine that is not a heavy sixer? And it has no channel select switch? Did you find it in Italy? If so, its probably a PAL machine, and no PAL VCS (whichever model) will have a channel select switch, since they have no need for one. They will just have a hole where it should be. I think I read the following somewhere, at some point: (Though I could be making it up! ) The only reason the heavy sixer didn't have a channel select switch (and were hardwired to channel 3) was because no TV station in the CA area transmitted on channel 3. Then when people started plugging these VCS's in other states, they found that TV stations were broadcasting on channel 3. Hence the need for a channel select switch, which was introduced on the next revision of the VCS.
  22. I have this cart (no box or inst) for trade. Very cool as it comes on an EPROM. More info, see this page on it: http://www.nesworld.com/art-qsie.htm Cart Scan: http://www.nesworld.com/pics/ssc-5.jpg (not the scan of the actual cart, but it is identical) Main interest is VCS (anything thats not on my have list at www.jobf.co.uk/vid/have.txt ) , but I'm like a Magpie I could be interested in pretty much anything. Please remember this is a PAL cartridge. Check that your system can handle it!
