  1. It's not just on the NES, but how about a 2600 version of the excellent NES conversion of Elite?
  2. And if anyone wants to sell me one (or a Polo) for my collection, please do get in touch. Unfortunately I was unable to fly half way round the world to obtain one myself Steve Rich.
  3. Thanks LiveIn, I'll add that note to the Activision games at the next update.

    Imagic labels

quote Cool, I'd not seen that before. It reminded me of a Centipede "boxed" cart that I got from Australia a few years back that I've not seen anywhere since: It's a silver label cart, in a plastic bag with instructions behind it, with a piece of card sealing the bag at the top. On the card, it says "Atari Super Value". I assume that this must have been a pre-red label release range of cheaper (budget) games that were sold on racks (there is the little hole in the card for hanging). Just thought someone might be interested.. Steve.
  5. The list has been updated! Updates: * K-Tel Vision games added. * Lots of Telegames (Supervision/Bit multis) added by Chris. Plus more info on where the games could originally be bought etc etc. The list is here: http://www.jobf.co.uk/vid/ukpal.txt Enjoy Steve
  6. PAL Frankensteins Monster released by Gameworld. PAL Cakewalk released by Commavid. PAL Bump N Jump released by Telegames. Also, I know Silica exclusively sold Survival Island (in the UK). It came in a black cassette case with instructions, tho I can't remember if this was PAL or NTSC. Somebody else should know... Steve.
  7. Please keep the posts on topic. There are enough posts on this 2600 forum without off-topic stuff. If I wanted to read about Modern Gaming, I'd read the Modern Gaming forum. Thanks.

  9. quote I have a PAL Q*bert proto, that was found at a boot sale. The PAL proto of Ewok Adventure was found at a boot sale down-south too. Some Atari PAL Lab Loaners have been found in the UK too, mostly London-way IIRC, but I can't recall anyone finding any protos from other companies besides Atari & PB in recent years. Steve.
  10. quote Nope, I always pick them up, because a friend once found a SW:Arcade. Alas all I've found is either Frogger or Q*bert. Sort of related, anyone still on the quest for a monogrammed Spacechase???
  11. quote Definitely. My Golf is about as good as golf can get on the 2600. Steve Rich.

    Pitfall 2

quote: This is my first port of call for checking official UK releases - http://www.jobf.co.uk/vid/ukpal.txt no mention of Dolphin on there though. Thats right. No Dolphin (shame coz I like it), no Crackpots, no Checkers & no Cosmic Commuter. Also, either tonight or tomorrow, the list will actually be updated with two titles that we have had confirmed sightings back in the day: K-Tels Spider Maze and Vulture Attack. Also, if anyone else has any other info related to the UK (particularly about Adult releases), please let me know. Cheers Steve Rich
  13. quote Will would you be able to pick me up a Lynx? My local Game is out of stock and they only have a few pricey games left. I'd make it worth your while - money for a few pints or something! :-) Cheers Steve Rich
  14. quote: I own Codebreaker & Hangman (PAL) but I have not found any PAL versions of Star Ship or Canyon Bomber in the UK. Star Ship & Canyon Bomber weren't released in the UK. Frogger II, Gyruss and Star Wars Arcade Game were imported exclusively by Silica Shop when Parker pulled out of the video game business. A list of carts released in the UK can be found here Hope this helps, Steve Rich

    #rgvc

quote Also, its not well published, but the java chat at the Digital Press site links to #rgvc when DP aren't running any of their virtual chat benders. Certainly not the best way to chat, but if you are having problems with mIRC or pIRCh or whatever, then you can try this and we can help sort you out with a decent client Steve Rich

    Atarinvader

quote: Wow, UK action on the Atari front! How about some perspective on VCS cart availability in the PAL market? I for one would LOVE to know which Activision games I should be expecting to find for our system. You can find a pretty comprehensive release list for the UK on my site: VCS UK Release List Cheers Steve Rich My collection + other stuff
  19. quote Mister VCS, I presume this is the red label version that I've been looking for a scan for. Could you post a pic of it here please? Thanks Steve Rich
  20. Hey Guys I can't get the Tower Toppler rom downloaded from AtariAge working with either V7800 or MESS. Other games work fine. Am I doing something wrong, is the game not supported or is it a bad rom?? TIA Cheers Steve Rich
  21. Matty: Gameworld released Data Age titles in PAL in Europe/Oz. quote: On an (unintentional) halloween theme, is 'Frankensteins monster' for the VCS any good? Theres a PAL copy on ebay and I might buy it Yeah, its a pretty good game - the best by Data Age/Gameworld IMO. If you want it you've got me to contend with coz I'm the high bidder Steve Rich (jobf)

    Does Mint matter?

This topic reminds me of a cart that a fellow collector once found in a box of carts at a boot sale: IIRC, the cart was Basketball. Obviously the previous owner didn't think much of it Steve Rich
  23. A few years ago, I met a trader at a flea who said that he had a load of 2600 games back at his shop. I duely went around the next day, and proceeded to pick out about 100 carts. I distinctly remember spying a Red label Missile Command and thinking that I'd not seen that before. It had a different font for the game title also iirc. At the time, I thought I picked it up, however when I went through the carts I bought a few days later it wasn't there and therefore must have left it behind. I was looking through the guide here at Atariage and noticed it wasn't pictured. I've just had a search on the net, and found one reference to a Red Label Missile Command on google groups but no picture. So, anyone got one that they'd like to scan in? I'm in the UK, so the one I saw was most likely PAL. It was *definately* a Missile Command with a Red Label I'm 100% sure of that. Thanks in advance, Cheers Steve Rich
  24. quote Aha, so it looks like it may have only been released in Australia. It was definately not released in the UK (neither was Miner Vol2 which is quite odd since it made it to mainland Europe) and I don't recall ever coming across any in Europe or on Ebay. Thats another fun aspect of this hobby - you learn something new every day :-) Steve Rich
  25. AFAIK no. They didn't do a PAL Espial either did they? Steve Rich
