I decided to pull out my Toshiba NUON DVD system this week to play my favorite game again - Tempest 3000 I had the system put away because CD-Rs and DVD-Rs do not work on it... although it plays real CDs fine, with the VLM Tempest 3K is awesome, a true sequel to the Jag version. I use the password GLAS and start al level 34 for the stealth flippers levels.

I got mine today, at Best Buy sold as an 'open item', basically a slightly damaged box, which was opened to check parts but it works fine. Only $26, should be worth that

I want to get a DS myself but decided to wait a few weeks after Christmas. After reading this now I'm glad I did. Hopefully there will be some promo on the DS when Sony gets its PSP ready to ship

Rare? Define rare! Your help please...

What about some rare gaming consoles themselves? No, I'm not talking about the Nintendo Virtual-Boy that everybody knows about, but how about... -
The 7800 version is very comparable to the NES graphically, most important is the 7800 version has NO slow-down and NO flickering (things that are so common on the NES that you just expect it). The background is nicely detailed and scrolls smoothly. However, the 7800 version has no continues or level select options, so only the best players will get very far into it even with both players

the 'Super Baseball' title screen is impressive work for a sports game and 'Off The Wall' has a coloful arcade-like screen (although it's nothing like the Atari Games arcade game with the same name)
-
I'm one of the die-hard Trekkies that just has to bear with whatever they give us, although I have no regrets to missing many Voyager episodes that were just utter crap from the previews. Enterprise has it's ups & downs but stil better than those overused reality shows.

getting back to this one... I noticed the inclusion of the playable arcade ROM/Hack Tempest Tubes. And you can also find the playable 2600 Tempest in the "bonus' archives, you can barely make out that these is even supposed to be the same game but considering the 2600s limits its no surprise why this was never finished

This has been one of the most informative threads I've read in a while! anyway I finally got AA for PS2 tonight so I'm happy now I agree with Al about the mention of Lynx/Jag games, too bad though.
-
I called around and was told that the PS2 version won't be on thier shelves until Tuesday, oh well. I do have the Hasbro released PC version 'Atari Arcade Hits" 1 and 2 so that covers 12 of the arcade games that are on Anthology, and a working DCStella disk on Dreamcast for somewhat decent 2600 emulation, so those will have to hold until then
-
count me IN too, now to work out a list...
-
Might as well mix them, although it really sucks that the PS2 version is not coming out until next week when I saw the Xbox version at 3 places already!
-
I prefer the Lynx over GG too, and prefer the Lynx version of Klax over GGs version anyday. the Lynx has some cool 3D games that the GG could not possobly compare too I got a Lynx when it came out, early 1990, then sold that one to my sister when Lynx II arrived, however that one died (dead backlight) in 1998/1999, I had about 12 games for it that I could no longer play and didn't know how to fix it -- but I got another (with the case and 16 games) on eBaY.

I agree, Nolan has gone so unnoticed over the years
-
Did anyone notice? On the Atari game 'Cyberball 2072' in the 2-player high score board it lists other coin-ops released by Atari - one of which is the unreleased Akka Arrh from years earlier. Do you know of other games that mention unreleased titles?
-
Williams made games for the Jag?? There was Defender made for the Jag by Llamasoft/Atari Corp but programmer Jeff Minter (aka YAK, who operates Llamasoft) already aquired the rights to Defender years earlier when he did the ST version 'Defender II'. I dont recall any mention of Sinistar when the Jag was out, would have been cool though.
-
I never heard of such a device either. If you haven't already heard of it, here's something that you might like... only $20 for 85 games and even has new play modes and score saves. Comes out in November http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/action/atarian...heckprices.html

I've researched and/or own most every Atari/Atari Games arcade game released for the ST computers. I do not recall ever seeing this one
-
Just took a quick peek but want to say it looks good, you got a nice layout going.
-
sorry for the delay in replying to this As for getting there tomorrow, I'm afraid I can't make it as good as it sounds though No car until late in the afternoon, then about 1hr or so driving just doesn't leave enough time. Maybe next time

Pacman art...can someone clue me in as to its origin?
geosteve replied to sku_u's topic in Atari 2600
this is the 8-bit version box I remember seeing, that one above must be a rare version. http://www.atariage.com/box_page.html?Soft...areLabelID=2677
