  1. Yes remember the arcade game Atari Games made in 1992 called Arcade Classics that was completed by could not be distributed because of ownership conflicts of the original games being the property of Tramiel/Atari Corp. Ed Logg himself wrote the Super Centipede game and still lost out on this.
  2. I saw this at the Home Computer Museum website, anyone ever heard of a system from Microdigital called the TK 2000 II? Look at the image and tell me that's not an Atari 1200XL case http://www.homecomputer.de/pages/f_info.ht...TK-2000_II.html
  3. The 400 and 800 computers have 4 controller ports. Playing Asteroids with the standard Atari joystick works fine and allows 4 simultaneous players in team or combat modes. Even though the early 5200s had 4 ports there are only a couple of games that use them.
  4. here's another unique one for this thread...
  5. Here's a quick label I whipped up... Frenzy The sequel to Berzerk, it's another under-rated arcade game that I've always regretted there was never a home version made. I used to play this a lot at the arcade back in the day! (sorry it's kinda cheap, I'm not much of an artist)
  6. Is he maybe talking about that expensive Japanese-only Sony console called the PSX that was introduced late last year, I remember hearing it has a DVD copier and costs about $500 heres a sight I have saved with some info on it... http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?category=...c20c6225ac63682 I haven't heard any clues as to a PS3 yet but I'm sure it won't be sold here for months after it arrives in Japan.

  9. I have some of the early magazine reviews of Ultra Vortex, the screenshots shown look almost identical to the final... Aside from the name change, on the player select screen the characters are above the creature, and the symbol to show a first match win is a skull instead of a triangle. Another game I'd like to see an early beta release is Checkered Flag from when it was still being called "Redline Racing".
  10. oops, can't edit here's the link... http://games.kikizo.com/news/200408/003.asp
  11. check out this site for dozens of pics of DOOM3 running on a maxed-out PC, doesn't really describe the hardware used but it looks good at the bottom there is a bunch in in-game movies in WMV format you can watch/download. I got all of them and made a VCD using NERO out of them. I know the game won't work on my PC system, you need like 1.5GHz minimum
  12. two other Atari Games titles that had t-shirt giveaways are... STUN Runner - complete the last wave "ultimate challenge" Toobin - collect all seven balloons T O O B I N '
  13. first separate the 8-bit systems from the 16-bit systems 8-bit: 400/800/XL/XE - as long as memory requirements are met, all cartridges, peripherals, and disk/cassette software are cross-compatible. the 400 & 800 are the first, from 1979-80 the XLs are from 1982-83 the XEs are from 1985 and later there are however a very few older disk programs that need the 'XL tranlator disk' to work properly on XL/XE models. 16-bit: ST/TT/Falcon - entirely different from the above mentioned models, although there is emulation software such as X-Former that allows limited 8-bit compatibility and a cable exists to connect the 8-bit series 5¼" disk drive to the ST.
  14. Here is a list of the hieroglyph combinations you pick up along the way, knowing these can be a big help along the way. http://www.atariage.com/magazines/magazine...&CurrentPage=20
  15. I support the idea of adding an Atarisoft section, but first I'd rather see the completion of the 800/XL/XE section added. my cousin had a TI994A back in the early 80's with a couple of the Atarisoft games, they were pretty impressive.
  16. from BASIC you simply type PRINT FRE(0) -that's a number 'zero' not letter O
  17. I taped a special on "The History Channel" a few years ago about video games, great show! this 1 hr show talked from Oddysey and Pong to Space Invaders and Pac-Man and from Nintendo to the 'new' Dreamcast

I've never heard of a final level in either the Lynx or any other version, including the arcade. I do know thay on both the arcade and ST version level 15 is a fight against the 'Master Xybot' and losing send you back levels.

  20. Thanks, those videos are the same ones but that site is not where I got them from, I have never seen that link before. also, I looked through the forums for other mentions of this game and found this link with another ever better video of this game, the graphics are just mindblowing I can't believe it ended up just another unfinished Jag title http://mleguludec.free.fr/jc2k3/jc2k3_videos.htm
