That's a good catch, the game is really called "highway", for all the times I've been to KLOV I've never noticed that

V-Shoot em up I can't remember the name of...
geosteve replied to Sharky's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I was going to say Truxton too after reading your description, check out the pics on the game's flyer here... http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyerdb&...=thumbs&id=1246 -
I bought the NEC TG/16 when they first came out, and always preferred this system to the Genesis (which I finally got about 2-3 years later). With the TG/16 I have about 20 games, the TurboBooster add-on, the 5 controller adaptor, and the arcade stick. Still have it today and still works great!

what an awesome game! great job

I was a regular EGM reader back then & I agree about the unbiased Jag reviews. As for DOOM, remember when the PSX version came out they called that one.. "awesome, the best yet!", "far better that the Jag", "includes background music" and so on then came that crappy blocky SNES version and they even dared to call that one "as good as the Jag version"... I'm still laughing at that one!

Video games related to the "Alien" movies
geosteve replied to The 8th Passenger's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I was referring to the Xenophobe game for the 7800, like the 'aliens' the xenos mutate from crawling bugs that grab you up to large creatures that sure bear a resemblance to the adult aliens. -
Video games related to the "Alien" movies
geosteve replied to The 8th Passenger's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I think there is also some relation to the Xenophobe game and the Alien movies too... aside from the 3 player arcade game, there are cool versions for the 7800 and Lynx too -
Yeah I seem to remember sending in that question to a magazine once, oh here it is... http://www.atariage.com/magazines/magazine...5&CurrentPage=4

What arcades still have great classic video games?
geosteve replied to 128bytes's topic in Arcade and Pinball
getting back to New England... Haven't you seen the arcades at Hampton Beach and nearby Salisbury Beach, both have lots of classic games and pinballs. -
Yeah, my early version of California Games packed with the Lynx 1 did not have any box. I have the large box for Electrocop, Gates of Zendecon, and Blue Lightning.

Atari's 1200XL computer, released at roughly the same time as the 5200, is also a huge case like the 5200 except with the keyboard and function keys on top, plus the other side ports to attach computer peripherals. If you've ever seen one it is very big! Both are based on the 400/800 nodel with some modificationd but I don't know how similar the motherboards are

I wonder if the 2600 Tarzan game was too similar to Jungle Hunt and they decided against finishing/releasing it

I remember reading about the development of Zzyorxx, too bad about that it looked cool. here's a couple larger and clearer screenshots that were shown...

Special Cinnci-Classic CYBER VIRUS 02/25 on eBay NO RESERVE
geosteve replied to atarimaster1's topic in Atari Lynx
That's quite a price drop from the AU$650 you were asking here , hope the auction goes better this time. -
Which way, 2600 to 8-bit or 8-bit to 2600?
geosteve replied to Great Hierophant's topic in Atari 2600
As far as the 5200 most games released for it in '83 were released about the same time as the 2600 versions, give or take a month, but I'm not sure about the 400/800/XLs which was a separate division of Atari. Notice the later Atari Age magazines show both versions advertised together. -
Question about Atari Megafile 44
geosteve replied to doncleth's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I remember reading you can also use a 100MB external Zip drive on a ST, there is a parallel connector version or a SCSI with a Link cable. here's one, there are others listed http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...4129817939&rd=1 -
Jr. Pac-Man with his little spinner hat the top row of bugs in Space Invaders with the long antennas mommy Kangaroo, and the baby too

Cool game, good work! Did you know? Simon itself is actually a clone of a game concept orginally made by Atari... Touch Me I think the score idea would be a good addition
-
I assume you mean 2 players together, here are some I can think of... all the head-to-head fighters, obviously all the driving games - top/bottom split screen Tempest 2K has a 2 player game Hover Strike has a cool co-op feature Raiden can have 2 players together too
-
you can move the pointer by holding ALT with the arrow keys, other shortcuts listed in the dropdowns also use the ALT key combination, and quick open drive windows by pressing SHIFT with the drive letter.

I use a 7800 controller on my STe. It works fine in controller port 1 (which most games use) but does not work right in port 0 - mouse port, seems the 2-button design confuses the port's input response.

How up to date is the rarity guide on Atari Age anyway?
geosteve replied to dgo's topic in Atari Lynx
I have front on back scans of early release Electrocop box that I'm sure I've sent in before, whatever happened to them? -
I used to use Rembrandt a lot for drawing years ago, nice program for drawing in GTIA modes but the interface is somewhat confusing. Dont forget the cart based art programs like Epyx's easy to use Fun With Art, it supports VDI for high color and lets you save pictures to a disk.
