  1. I've got about 55-60 Lynx carts, with maybe 5 or so being doubles, plus the homebrew "Remnant" as well. Most of these I bought brand new back then and got a good deal package of 20 or so off ebay a couple years ago with the large official carrying case.
  2. I still intent to purchase a FB3 whenever it may happen, so this is good news to me
  3. Looks like I finally found my reason to buy a 360, I just love Minter's games!
  4. going with Adventure for it's brilliant complexity it brings to the primitive 2600, and holding it's re-playable value even many years later love the 'random' mode feature 7800 Ballblazer is awesome too but not original
  5. I'm sure I read that both of LucasFilm's disk games use the extra 130XE memory to speed load times, The Eidolon and Koronis Rift. I have both but not the manuals to them
  6. As you may recall, back "in the day" when these two games were released... Spring 1994 - Tempest 2000 arrived right on time while Alien Vs Predator was delayed/rescheduled several times, first announced in late '93 when the Jag arrived scheduled for early '94, then delayed until summer then delayed again until fall while the game was drastically changed from what they showed a year earlier. It finally was released in late August as I remember They should have released it quick (the jag was hurting for games it's first year) then released AvP II or AvP plus the next year. also, I take a point off AvP for this... the alien's acid death graphic is always the same, I always wished they used more variety there
  7. hack off the version that was released for the 8-bit computers, which already uses cx-40 joysticks (or compatible). the unreleased 5200 version appears to [otherwise] be the same.
  8. 8-bit Montezuma's Revenger(disk), and a runner-up prize for 8-bit frogger(cart)
  9. I played Stun Runner too, yes the scaling polygons are a nice 3D touch that gameboy and the consoles (at that time) could not do, but I feel the controls really flawed the game and forces me to take points off (I've played the coin-op hundreds of times)
  10. my vote easily goes to Xenophobe, superior to even the arcade game it's based on, with a hint of 'Aliens' too. It's fun alone or with others comlynxed. And use headphones for the true stereo audio experience the tiny built-in speaker doesn't offer.
  11. I can pretty much guarantee at least 3 quick sales of an FB3 in my area, if it does get released, make that 4 if I decide on getting a pair for myself. still hoping :!:
  12. yeah that's a really impressive piece of work you have there, great job on the details. I'd go with 1080 or 1085 for a name
  13. I remember most of it as it happened, including seeing a gaming magazine article review of the 'upcoming' 7800 system with screenshots of the new games for it. I remember a later story of Atari being sold and hoping it wasn't the end for them. Despite the changes that followed, I stayed firmly with Atari even when the XL was rereleased as the XE even though I had just purchased an 800XL.
  14. I have used several old carts on both the 800XL and 130XE systems with no trouble :!: sorry I don't recall any monthly Atari magazine articles mentioning there was a list of 400/800 carts that didn't work (I collected many)
  15. I bought one of those last year but wasn't much impressed by it so I gave it to my nephews. it would be worth a budget price (under $20) if you can find one.
  16. I really like that arcade version, but still my vote goes to Jr PacMan maze craze is runner-up
  17. definitely the Lynx II system, worth it's weight
  18. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Atari gives the OK on FB3 and the other projects
  19. I do still have the cartridge, since I don't use it does anyone want to add it to thier collection?? dumping??
  20. I used the Commodore 64 in the 80's, that command you type is to access BASIC programs that you write yourself, or read other disks contents. Even on commercial software you always had to type that line including games or business software. The Commodore disk drive was unique in having the 'disk operating system' software built-in to ROMs inside the drive. Most other computers autoloaded the DOS from a boot disk with specific software written on it, which consumes RAM memory. This is still used today by both current OS-X and Windows XP OS's loading a DOS from the C: drive when you turn in on, back then hard drives were still too expensive and the A: floppy drive was the common use. Atari's computers loaded "DOS.SYS" from a boot disk, and the optional "DUP.SYS" (for disk utilities package) to see an impressive tool for accessing the drive including creating other boot disks, copying files from one disk to another or a whole disk with only the A: drive [a difficult task on the C64 ] As for commercial disk (games etc...) the disk is autoloaded from the computer in OFF mode, as described above. To make an autoloading binary code file yourself you simply name it "AUTORUN.SYS"
  21. I had a LOGO cart back in those days, not sure if I still do. Anyway, although the programming to make those turtles draw lines or arcs is easy (especially if you have advanced math skills) there's really not much else to do with it. note: the turtles move really slow
  22. I think Atari could benefit by getting the FB3 out by this fall season, before the expensive next-gen systems come out. Not that I expect the $600 PS3 to be a big seller anyway, but the X-360 last year did cause slowdown on potential FB2 buyers.
  23. this is the original 2-disk "arcade hits' for Windows PCs from Hasbro Interactive, released just before Infogrammes purchased the Atari name. this 2-disk package is rare there are 6 games on each disk, plus bonus content Later, Infogrammes combined the 12 games on 1 disk and released as "Atari Anniversary"

    © disk 1 ©1999 and disk 2 ©2000

  24. this is the front of the mail-in card for NUON DVD games, shown in original b/w
  25. Yeah I got the Spongebob fry-cook one for $4.99 the other day, they had the same one in the Best Buy at the end of the mall for $17.99
