  1. I saw them at Spencer Gifts the other day, Frogger and S.I., but wasn't impressed enough to buy. Oh well Maybe if they make one of Atari's games I'll buy
  2. thanks for the link, I've never been to that site before :!: Remember the Atari Games coin-op game Space Lords? that would have been a cool Jag game too, was that ever made for the ST series?
  3. Thanks for this info, I didn't know there was a STE/Falcon version but from what you described I wish I'd had. I have owned an Atari 1040STE since the early 90s, and later modded it with TOS 2.6 and 2MB. There are several other STE/Falcon polygon-based 3-D games that would have been good on the Jag
  4. Great job! Awesome But I agree that you need a pic of it working
  5. It's a very difficult game, at least the fighter levels where you rotate your ship in full 360º - the control is not comfortable and hard to aim and dodge the enemies. Level 1 is one of these but is somewhat easy, but the others... hard! Level 2 is the first gunner control game, much easier to play and these (about 4 of them thoughout the game) make Zero 5 worth playing. Level 3 is the first tunnel level and can be completed, then these too get difficult. There are cheats to open all levels, so explore them all, I really enjoy the gunner mission through the 3D asteroid belt shoot spinning spaceships and data pods, then blasting the hell out of a mothership
  6. It was the other way around... Checkered Flag II was the original title then it was changed to Red Line Racing, then finally Checkered Flag (all within a few months). Issues of GameFan magazine had this info and even some pics of the RLR title screen
  7. Interesting to see something like that in a Target catalog, I noticed those are the same two cabinets listed at this site (about 2/3rds of the way down) http://www.homegameroom.com/catalog/sale.html Nice idea but unforunately not something I can put in my place though, not yet anyways
  8. I have the Atari ST version, it's actually weak compared to what the 68000 can do, but this version stays true to the vector coin-op in tank graphics. The program is about 300K in size.
  9. has anyone that uses the iTunes music store notice there's a download of the 28 second "Have you played Atari today" commercial, the artist listed is Diska on the album Hey Dis*ko selling for 99¢. Who is this and can they sell a 20+ year old Atari commercial I have this as a mp3 already I downloaded free from some Atari site, maybe here or Curt's atarimuseum.com, not sure, some time ago
  10. I'd sure like to get to this year's Philly show, but I don't risk taking my old truck that far, about 250 miles. How's taxi service from the airport to the expo center?
  11. I have the Dreamcast version of Rush 2049 and played it for hours, back then of course, now playing the same game on this I have to get the tracks and coins all over again Otherwise it is more playable than Rush: the Rock is. Does anyone know if the Logitech 'force feedback' steering wheel [for PS2] works on these games?
  12. If you're not limiting the answers to 2D shooters, there's an impressive mothership battle to finish off Star Raiders II, once you've cleared both galaxies of white blips and refueled, you'll have to face a huge battleship. If I remember right you'll get a 'ranking' too
  13. this site has a screenshot of the title... http://www.atari.st/view.php?id=159 the graphics are well done (for it's time) to show smooth vector drawn enemies like the arcade, mixed with a detailed color playfield. it even has the 1812 overture song I got mine back around 1990 or so
  14. It looks like your post got as many answers as this similar one... http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48428 I've never seen any other than Battlezone so I'd like to know the answer to this

    Lynx Catalogs?

I have a playable demo of the ST version of Viking Child, from one of the many British ST gaming magazines I collected. This is an awesome platform game with beautifully animated graphics and some impressive music to match. edit: forgot to mention, I might have the book catalog for the Lynx, didn't that come with a GameFAN issue? did anyone ever find the Lynx page on my old website? here's an early magazine ad for the system.
  16. I only have one real cart, Remnant, but tried many of the other on Handy. I voted for Remnant because it's got such impressive 3D graphics and music that the Lynx library suffered with so few of great game
  17. You're right Gauntlet II looks and plays great on the ST I also have many other of Atari [Games] titles for the ST, most made by Mindscape and U S Gold. Road Runner and Xybots to name a couple. I see on KLOV.com that many arcade games run on the MC68000 processor the ST uses so the graphics are near perfect, sounds are not the same though.
  18. I use a 7800 joystick on my 1040STE too, plugged in the port 1 plug (which is default for most 1 player games) and it works fine. A 7800 controller in port 0, the mouse port, does not work. I've also tried the Atari Trak-Ball in both ports, works fine. As for the 15-pin ports on the side, never used them. Jaguar controllers fit but I have nothing that uses them. I have the Gauntlet II game and tried them once for players 3 & 4 but no effect
