PCs have a nice shovelware nitch market that seems to work just fine.

The 7800 was the first console I bought with my own money so I have to like it if for no other reason than nostalgia. One on One is also my favorite game from that era. I'd never owned a 5200 until around a year ago and I have to say I don't particularly care for it. It takes up way too much space and the controllers are difficult to replace. Like the 7800 it didn't really have a whole lot of games made for it either. I will say this though. Berzerk on it is awesome. I've never seen any Atari stuff after the 7800 in person.

I probably would have voted for it in 1988 or 89 but now I've got an arcade perfect version of it for my Genesis that makes me not want to bother with any other version.

I also hate all unlockables, especially in racing games. If I buy the game I want to be able to race whatever car on whatever track is in the game. At least provide a cheat code so the people who like unlockables can progress through unlocking them. I remember renting a 007 game for the PS2 and finding out the only way to play multiplayer was to do several of the co-op missions first. Needless to say I took it back and never bought the game because I only wanted it for the 4 player on screen multiplayer.

Please tell me those Wii-motes won't become some sort of industry standard. While being able to use a controller as a bat or whatever is great for party games that I do enjoy I don't really see many other uses for them. I'd rather use a standard controller for 99% of the games I play. Then again I'm the type who would have also said a controller doesn't need more than one button and that games are getting too complicated when the Intellivision came out. Now I just play those games like it's no big deal.

Demand for console games is much higher than PC games so it doesn't surprise me at all.

I don't care for the 7800 Mario Bros but then I'd never played it until maybe a year ago and I've never played any other version. I can't imagine I'd like it on any system. All of the homebrews for the 7800 are great. PMC which you already ordered, b*nQ, Beef Drop, Asteroids Deluxe and Space Duel. My all time favorites are: One on One Ballblazer Xevious - it's pretty shocking to me now just how arcade accurate that game was. Yeah.......3 games. I had fun with lots of other ones but they don't stand out. I'd imagine most people don't like One on One either.

I think the used market would still be attractive to consumers even if they sold new games for $10 a piece. Lots of people would rather pay $5 than $10.

While this is certainly sad it's just what happens when you end up dealing with 20 different people in a large corporation. I tend to agree with rsiddall. He should have bought another console if he wanted to keep the artwork. It really sucks but it's just the reality of dealing with any large corporation.

I never played Bionic Commando in the arcade and when the trailer first started I was a bit underwhelmed with the original but what they've done to update it looks pretty darn cool.

The CC1 market would probably be lower with the availability of the Kroc Kart.

It also comes with an officially licensed version of Q-Bert. Just because it's a 2600 version and not nearly as good as a certain clone I just bought that doesn't matter.

I hate it when game menus list new game first before load game. I'm probably going to be loading a game a lot more than I'll be making a new one so I want it to be the first menu option.
