I want 2 of them. The RSI sticks I have are probably a bit large for kids.

Just played the 5200 version of Super Cobra last night. Now I know why the original poster hates it so much. I find the 2600 version to be a million times easier and therefore better. Vanguard seems to have similar issues. Maybe I'm just not used to the sensitivity of the 5200 controller yet but it can make lots of stuff difficult.

Yep it's the first mod I've done. I've already bought a soldering iron to attempt the power mod and to put a Pokey in my CC2 someday.
-
woohoo, just tested it out and it works great. Some of the stuff blended together in countermeasure and now I can actually see the stuff with this mod..........plus a crystal clear picture. The main reason I wanted to do this was so I didn't have the RF thing to the tv because it causes interference with some of the channels regardless of whether the 5200 is on all the time. I had the same problem with my 7800 before I had OSG do that mod for me.

EA and Wii stoop to new low in my opinion
HammR25 replied to Atari5200's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
You can turn off all signatures. I do that on every board I can. I get tired of scrolling past stuff that has nothing to do with the thread topic......especially on boards where people like to put pictures in them.........and then that's when Adblock comes in handy. -
I just made sure all the pins were straight before I tried putting the GTIA on the board. What's so hard about that?

The Nintendo target market has always been family friendly. This doesn't stop you from buying all the games you like. -
I assume the 3 rings on the ground wire go around the yellow, purple and blue wires and is screwed tight?

You have a choice between two different A/V mods now. The other one is by Longhornengineer.com This mod isn't really that hard to install. The biggest PITA is getting off the RF shield. My only advice on that one is to make sure you get the board out of the case first and then it won't be as bad. The only thing you'll need that doesn't come with the kit is a drill and 1/4 inch drill bit. A pocket knife would come in handy too. The thing about the 8bitdomain.com mod is Mike can sometimes take a long time in shipping your board.

What would you suggest I used to pry it off?

I finally got around to messing with this again. I've got the RF shield off and have located the GTIA but what do I need to do next? I haven't been able to find any pictures of what to do exactly. I see the mod board is now in place over the GTIA in the pictures but I'm not sure exactly what I need to do to do this.

Got my 7800 version today and can't get the white cable to stay hooked to the 5200. I'm not sure what's going on. Is this only for 2 port 5200s or something?
-
The 5200 is worth picking up. I personally like the 7800 a lot more than the 5200 but then I had a 7800 in high school and never had my own 5200. Now that I have a 5200 it has no nostalgia value for me so I don't particularly care for it.

Cool, now I'll be able to use my modded Radica Space Invaders sticks with my 7800 and my 5200.

That pretty much sums up why I deleted the demo after about 3 minutes. -
The last one I sent took about 2 weeks from the day I mailed it in. They also threw in a months free Live card. Same here

Wii craziness on Ebay has started again...
HammR25 replied to Gregory DG's topic in Nintendo Wii / Wii U
I doubt someone who can afford a $400 console will have much buyer's remorse. If they do then they've got many other more serious problems than whether or not they bought a console for $400 instead of $250. -
7800 b*nQ Label Contest - Winner Selected!

I'm chomping at the bit to get one, especially after seeing the winning label. It's a most excellent choice. -
Is the Guitar Hero franchise getting worse?

I'll buy Rock Band if it works with the wireless controller that came with my GHIII bundle. Otherwise they can forget it. -
The one time I've seen a Wii in the wild I actually saw two of them at the same time in the display case at WalMart around midnight. About 5 minutes later one was gone.

I MUCH prefer the songs in III over the songs in II. -
There's no way I'd pay $15 for a VC title that's locked to a specific console.
-
I don't know what you mean. But I saw this some where: Most Atari 5200 games will work in Atari 2600 and Atari 7800 systems. (totally untrue). He's referring to the fact that the 5200 and ColecoVision have adapters to allow play of 2600 cartridges on those systems.
-
The CC2 is most definitely a form of emulation. It uses different parts than original to emulate those different parts. Will it cause the 7800 to play differently than the parts it replaces? No. That's why I'd personally rather use a CC2. It replaces lots and lots of parts.
-
That would be really cool if it were wireless for those of us with CC2s.
