    I'm a 7th grade teacher. Former Marine. I have an extended homeroom at the end of the day, so I need to keep the kids occupied. I brought an Odyssey 2 to the classroom. The kids LOVE it!! Believe it or not, baseball and basketball they can't get enough of. And af course they love playing Attackof the time Lord.

     

     

    why can't my teachers ever be cool like that?

     

    The most we had was a laptop

    and i took over it hahaha

    Anywho ok i think people should take this into consideration

     

    There is no BAD game systems ( well minus chinese system rip offs.... polystation....)

     

    Anyways Ok its a matter of opinion for a game system,

    not everybody says this is black this is white, this sucks this is good.

     

    You know Maybe some people liked other things,

     

    I love the odyssey 2, almost bought one on this website before too :P

    I love ODyssey 1

    I even love the hand held units from MacDonald's! hah! sorry

     

     

    Nobody has the right to even say this is the worst in my opinion

    because thats all this is, OPINIONS

    I only wish Microsoft had bought them. Imagine what they could do with all of MS's money.
    I'm willing to bet that if M$ bought Atari this site that we know and love would cease to exist. I'm also willing to wager that it would look a little something like this...

    My Star Wars cockpit was in a guy's driveway. It was free. I let it warm up, reseated the chips and installed an ESB kit in it (thanks to Clay!). Worked since the day I got it home...

     

    I got a Missile Command on the side of the road, literally. Needed a board repair (of course on that machine)

    Got a Ms. Pac from a goodwill (cocktail)

    Got a Pac cocktail from the same place I got Missile Command, I knocked on his door and gave a 100 bucks for it. Bad regulator cost me about 5 bucks to fix...

     

    You never know what folks will chuck...

    the average IQ of the people who chuck this stuff must be well below 90 seeing as the avg machine will sell atleast $50 lol

    i hope to run into luck like this :P

    Ugh,

     

    My 360 went dark yesterday while playing a DVD. Afterwards it had no video or audio output, yet no red rings. I checked the cables and then tried another TV set, then another cable to a VGA monitor. It did come back for a bit but then the colors shifted out to purple and black and then nothing. I tried the "reset", where you hold down Y and RT at boot, still nothing. All I get now are rolling horizontal lines of small white dots on a black screen. Sometimes there are white blocks for a split second on boot but thats it, I can hear it read disks and the fans run.

     

    Researching this problem I've found that other consoles have done the same thing and the only sure fix is to send it to MS. It seems like it could be anything from a bad solder to a fried GPU. In any case my console isnt covered by warranty so I'm trying to figure out what to do with it. I'm not against opening it up and repairing it, I did that with my first gen-xbox but I cant get a straight opinion on what might work.

     

    Anybody got any thoughts?

     

     

    force a red ring of death and send it in for free :D

    Given that my cartridges are kept in a cool, dry, dark place, is there any reason to believe that these games will die? What about the Atari system itself? I don't want one of my favorite hobbies to die before i do...

     

     

    i predict that they will last a VERY VERY long time

    and by the time the original carts are dying we will have reproduced more systems & games for us retro believers haha.

    mine are stored in a humidy controlled and temp controlled room

    uhm

    the ones from my aunts garage which is very damp. no cooling in summer no heating in winter

    all work after i cleaned

    >.< there was a dead bug in one of the carts I DUNO HOW!

    but yea, uhm these things are the best durability wise carts i've ever seen hahahaha

     

    I treat mine with upmost respect :D

     

    Clean once every 3 -6 months

    A Salvation Army down state from had a Arkanoid for $60 at one point and it looked to be in great shape i should of snag it at the price but i dont think Mrs.Jboy is ready for a cab in the house yet. :)

     

     

    the one here smells horrible lol :D

     

    the most i found was a sealed version of linux im holding onto for keeps sake xD

    it was only 50 cents! :D

    Alright well here is the delema, I got a machine, which needs to be restored,

     

    Last time you guys heard of my machines was when i got them november

    thats right you head me NOVEMBER

    anyways to the story

     

    They been in a warehouse,

    and my father is finally getting the materials for me and him to finish the basement ( i was not allowed to put in house until its done)

     

    SO now that its on almost final stages (primer and paint soon :D)

     

    i been doing my research!

     

    I found i need a few new parts and well hey carpentry comes in handy haha,

     

    Here is the picture of the real upright machine i own

    Now you will notice the black bottom piece?

     

    Well as you can see from MY machine * yes i know the damage alright? ill fix it.*

    What I would need:

    >.< Measurements of the wood, pictures of it etc etc.

     

    is it just 4 pieces of wood making a square shape or is it a box or what?

    I can't makeout the picture well if thats the DD or not $200 is a good deal, but would it be full of dirt n stuff?

    I don't know and I don' got $200 I found 4 NES systems for $20 i am debating on purchasing

    This is a short post with not much description because my research cameup blank but i decided to post it here.

     

     

    I was browsing ebay the otherday and found a rebuilt Atari 2600 System

     

    It was an original atari but built with new parts.

     

    Maybe this guy is full of Sh :twisted: :?: But I came on here to See!

     

     

    Do they actually actually in 3rd party make Atari replacement parts ?

     

    I've seen a few on the website basic ones but i'm curious to know if they do or not.

    well i found an easily solution to being organized, i went to canadian tire ( yea im canadian) since your american should be walmart or you know some store like that.

     

    I found these things they have drawers and they have whells on bottom

    Big storage place. I filled almost 700 titles in like 2-3 of them and they fit in my small closet,

    For systems what i would say is not out, stack UP, lol. Make shelfs that go up and up,

     

    I can give you a picture later on of the storage piece i have, it works like a charm for me :)

     

    OH and also :) extras mail to me! lol. [jokes]

     

     

     

    I've sacrificed [ when i was little ] all my other toys for video games lol. I used to live in a huge house though.. so my walk in closet held up.

    Why don't you expand your collection outside of the one room or do you live in a dorm for school or something?

    Im curious to know, my vectrex used to sit in my kitchen on counter in corner looked quite nice, i had games in living room, Im going to run into my own set of issues like this, im attempting to expand my collection, i have been out of money to long because of no job but i found a few temporary positions ( pay is a few grand) so i was thinking of taking them up. My bank balance is $9 lol. trust me im short, :P

     

    Anyways those things should help! ill PM you photobucket link later.

    UPDATE ON MY PROJECTS:

     

    I have ordered the cord and will be done the crystal Castles once it arrives Thanks to the link above i have sent money for it! :D

     

    Duck hunt: This cabinet... it needs a lot of work. And a new Joypad.

     

     

    The Game Room Itself!:

    Drywalls up :D ( don't think i've ever lifted such heavy pieces in my life, the sheets were 10 feet long )

    I will have to fill in seems, paint it, Somehow do roof, then carpet, then shelfs, then everything goes in.

    Then its open,

     

    I want it done by christmas. 2 people working on it. I Don't know how possible...

     

    I am getting a BIG ( SUPPOSED to get a 60") LCD tv for it, but im unsure, thats about my update rant complete.
