  1. Maraca controllers? Too weird for me... I still prefer the good ol' joysticks... Sergio
  2. Thanks for the information! Now I have a better idea of the rarity ratings used here on AA. Sergio
  3. I only used gametz a few times just to browse trade/want lists. I have my own trade list homepage and it is easier to update. http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/collection/trade.htm Sergio
  4. I know the Polyvox and CCE carts complete in box are very hard to find in the wild, while the loose carts are usually common. Someone has an idea of which rarity number a boxed Polyvox game would be? Greetings, Sergio http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/collection/trade.htm
  5. Thank you all for the tips! If someone has a set of Atari 8-bit/C64/other carts available for trade please contact me. I can offer a Brazilian Atari 2600 clone or something else for a set of carts if someone likes foreign stuff. http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/collection/trade.htm Greetings, Sergio
  6. The MSX hardware has similarities with the Colecovision and the Sega SG1000/SC3000. There is even a Coleco emulator for MSX (I never tried it, so I don't know if it works well). The Spectravideo SVI318/SVI328 made in United States was a pre-MSX computer. Best regards, Sergio
  7. MSX is a Z80-based system developed by ASCII Corporation (Japan) and Microsoft, together with manufacturers like Matsuchita, Sony, and other companies. It was very popular in Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, and some other countries. MSX systems are very appreciated by vintage computer collectors (specially in Europe) because there were made a huge variety of MSX computers around the world, all compatible with the basic MSX standard. I really recommend trying at least playing MSX games on a emulator. Of course playing on the real machine is really better. Several great games were made for MSX, I recommend playing these games, some are for MSX1 and some are for MSX2: Metal Gear Zanac Goonies King's Valley Knight Mare Thexder Penguin Adventure Maze of Galious Hinotori Aleste Best regards, Sergio
  8. Hi, I have a site about MSX computers: www.charin.org Go to MSX Games > MSX 2 Games on left menu. You can download the ROM and play it on a MSX emulator. Metal Gear for MSX2 is really a great game, with nice music and graphics. Note: the Metal Gear works only on MSX2, MSX2+, or MSX Turbo-R computers. There is also a Metal Gear 2 for MSX2 computers. Castlevania also existed for MSX2, and was called Vampire Killer. Best regards, Sergio http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/collection/trade.htm
  9. Which are the best non-rare cartridges for the Atari 8-bit computers? I already have one Atari 800XL and a small set of cartridges, but I don't know much about the system, it never was produced in my country. I also have a Atari tape recorder but I don't have the I/O cable with that weird connector to plug into the computer. Greetings, Sergio http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/collection/trade.htm
  10. The one that says "2 Pak Special" looks to be from HES (Australia). All the rest (AppleVision, Dismac, Fotomania, Conector, Videomac) are unlicensed carts from Brazil.
  11. Hi! You will find info about some of these carts in my homepage: http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/vgmuseum/ Sergio
  12. The first game I played on Atari 2600 was Enduro. Enduro was a game appreciated in Brazil. Pratically all pirate carts' manufacturers in Brazil included Enduro in their list of titles: CCE, Dynacom, Dactar, Digivision, Tron, etc. Sergio

  15. This Sunday at a fleamarket I got several Atari 2600 cartridges, but most of them I'll put for trade or sale. I finally got a vintage pirate Atari 2600 cartridge with the label from 2001 store (Brazil). I also got one woodgrain and one Coleco Gemini loose, and also one rare Brazilian 8-bit computer. Sergio http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/vgmuseum/
  16. I recommend these guys, all are very friendly: Marco (Netherlands) Ianoid Joel Park (sold stuff to him) Jon Quick (sold stuff to him) Ben Brinkley Ron Slaminko Scott (ClubNinja) Mike Dougherty (sold stuff to him) I not included in the list 8-bit computer-related traders, or collectors I sent the package but unfortunately I don't received the package from them yet... maybe due posting by surface that can take several months to arrive. Greetings, Sergio http://member.newsguy.com/~charin/vgmuseum/

  19. $355 could be spent in something more interesting... Sergio
  20. Quadrun from Mexico? Interesting...
  21. Weird/obscure Atari-2600 clones with a set of built-in games can be found in several parts of the world. Some months ago I found a Atari 2600-based console named "Atlantis", there is absolutely no info available about it... About the power needs, probably it can use the same power supply used by the original Atari 2600, but opening the console to confirm this is recommended (to check if it has a 7805 voltage regulator, etc.). Best regards, Sergio
  22. That's really great... I recently started to work as Systems Analyst in a University and during the first week of job I met a guy wearing a t-shit saying "Zilog inside" and with MSX logo. (MSX is a Z80A-based 8-bit computer developed by ASCII (Japan) and Microsoft and were popular in Brazil, Asia and Europe.) Sergio
  23. Some suggestions: Yars' Revenge Seaquest Montezuma's Revenge Sergio
