Its got the arcade feel to it and thats what matters. It does what the best Atari arcade conversions do. BTW I like the new title tune. Lee

With the amazing game releases (both homebrew, hacks and prototypes) of 2002, I wonder what we are going to see in 2003? Any hopes/ideas anyone? Top of the tree for me is the Star-Fire release..yum yum! Lee

I love all the Activision titles and was wondering the other day that if one person did create each title how come most of the games from Activision all have a simular graphic/prgramming style to each other. You can tell with most Atari releases that a diff. programmer was at work with each title, but Acti's with its smooth graphics and sound all seemed to be using the same (superb) scroll rountine and graphic programming. Was there really only one guy per game at work or did they use stock programming tricks available at Activision? Lee

Hmmm, I like reading reviews from people, lets me and others see the games we might otherwise have overlooked. I think a point missed here is, that the reason most people love Atari games is because they like to PLAY them. I do reviews at my website, PeeknPoke along with 3 other likeminded people. We do normally 3 comments per game so readers can read and check out the games again, giving people the chance to play a classic they might not have. Obviously in 2002, some games age badly (As you might read in some reviews) but there is a point of doing them. My site doesnt do PS2 games, neither X-Box and the others (although i do play them and enjoy them). Its people playing RETRO games. Something they enjoy. We just pick out the good ones in the reviews. This is therefore placed into the "proper context" you mention. The old games are not placed against the new 2002 releases. No offence Brian, I got your point and understand it. this is just mine BTW take Berzerk VE for example, A new game (version) that no-one played and it got a 10/10 gold award. Some games still come across fresh as they did in the 70s/80s! Regards Lee

Did anyone play the sega megadrive rom PD version of Berzerk????? Brilliant stuff indeedy. Lee PS just been to the site where you could download the game, but its gone Lee

yeah, there is an extra level on the c64 version. its on the first level, something about being at the right place in the right time and a lift carries you to the secret "water" level. No great shakes as the c64 version (as with many others at the time) was terrible. Lee

although my thoughts are with those who lost thier lives on sept 11. Im sure that I would like to keep this board (at least this part) Atari only. I dont need to see people debating like this, it seems a shame to argue on such a day as this. With regards (and not upsetting anyone) Lee
