      Jin, I hear ya. Of course, I like good beer, but I also like cheap (good) beer, for example I'll totally drink a Hamm's or a Rainier, or (the opposite) a craft beer or homebrew, but will Never drink anything by anheuser-busch because it's awful and gives me headaches...

      But I do like hops and malt/malted barley, hops not too bitter, malt not too bright/sweet...malt whether it's in beer or Ovaltine, or coffee substitutes like Pero or in malts (the milkshake kind), or Whoppers candy...Yummm!

      @Jin, good beer does not have that much hops -- it's just the current beer-hipster-snob trend with so-called microbreweries.

       

      Real beer is complex and rich. It can be bitter, but it can be sweet and malty and nutty.

       

      Try a good lager, or anything imported from Germany. ;)

      ^Haa! Actually one name I really came up with for the band that became MONASTAT 2600 (Our follow up to MONASTAT 7) was...MARYLIN HANSON...**Groan**...I know ;)

      My friend had a website with a list of possible band names...Then one day a band got in touch and asked if they could use one of his names. They called themselves the BiPolar Bears. (I always thought that was pretty good!)

    Star Raiders is definitely one I'd buy the hardware to play if I didn't already have it. In fact, I have both an A8 and a 5200 so I can enjoy both versions of the game. It's a never-gets-old game for me, as well as a must have. Same for Intellivision's AD&D Cloudy Mountain. That's another game I can happily play again and again, enjoying the challenge of it every single time.

    For me, I love the games and the nostalgia is nice, but the main thing is that it's still an interesting machine to work with after all these years.

    First arcade favorite that I can recall was Asteroids. Before that, I played a number of the great B&W games over the years, but none was what I'd call a favorite at the time, until Asteroids. That was, I believe, the first game I'd ask my parents to drive me somewhere so I could play it (versus just playing a video game because we were somewhere that had them, such as a pizza parlor).

    Nostalgia's my lodestone, but the fun is in using the things it leads me to. Buying stuff just to have it sit on shelves isn't worth it to me.
