  1. Custom chip used in the arcade versions of Gauntlet, Vinidcators, etc. Is there any other information about this chip available? I have googled and re-googled and have come up with nothing other than it's a "Syn Logic Array Graphics Shifter" thats from the Atari AVL list based on a cross check with the Atari part number for that chip. I would just like some more in depth details on the device, i.e. how it works, what it does exactly, etc.

    Thanks for any help,

  2. Crossbow,

Most modern monitors will "remember" screen position settings that you input using the controls on the monitor for the current mode that it is in. So try just adjusting the image location using the monitor controls. That way when your monitor jumps into the resolution that windows uses, it will adjust the picture to where you had it, likewise with the resolution that MAME sets for whatever game it is currently playing. Hope this helps. (If you didn't already think of it, that is.)

  3. Hello all,

I am extremely interesed in buying a working gauntlet board, however I have some questions. Do boards that come from the UK use the same ROM's as the US versions? Also, from looking on the internet it seems that Gauntlet is a pretty sought after game, what are the chances of me scoring a working board?
