Do you plan on getting a Wii or PS3 this year?
AussieAtari replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I should change my vote as there we were on Saturday, going through the junk mail, escaping from the 41.5 degrees (centigrade) heat and She Who Must Be Obeyed sees a Wii bundle on special at Target and decides that would be a great way to spend the day when it is too hot to do anything else. Who am I to disagree with a Domestic Directive such as that? Problem is they were out of stock already so we had to get a raincheck and it will arrive next week. So we will be getting a Wii this year after all. -
You're right, they had everything listed so their site came up when web searching.

"How often do you respond to the "Poll of the Week"?
AussieAtari replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
Whenever the question is relevant to me. -
Saved from having to type so much by Flomojo - what he says goes for me too, except I am in the 1000+ category.

Very nice, I did not know of your store. Do you ship to Australia?

How much did you pay for the last game you bought?
AussieAtari replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
$5.51 - Dynamite Headdy for the Mega Drive. -
Sparcade was great at the time, I had it and many other less well-known emulators plus full ROM collections to go with them on a PC that went with my ex-wife - which annoyed me more than her leaving! Are there any advantages with Sparcade over MAME nowadays? Anyone remember Shark?

Lynx I or Lynx II - which design do you prefer?
AussieAtari replied to skylarking's topic in Atari Lynx
Lynx II for me, I find it sits better in my hands and I prefer it when playing Klax in vertical mode. -
They are amazing images from a CV!!
-
D'oh, Steve they are all CoCo 2's! Sorry mate.
-
MY CV already has an A/V mod so personally I'd go for the non-backwards compatible way and enjoy the benefits. However, I'd support a general view that backwards compatible would be better, that way everyone can enjoy every CV game on their consoles using the OM.

Retro Gamer is just too expensive
AussieAtari replied to Flojomojo's topic in Gaming Publications and Websites
Thanks to variations in the exchange rate, I just paid less for the latest issue available here (Ghouls & Ghosts cover), very nice. It does not look like Retro Vol. 2 is available here in Oz, I picked up issue 1 but have not seen the next issue anywhere. If anyone has seen it for sale here can they let me know where. -
I'll take a look tonight and let you know the weight, configurations and approximate cost tomorrow (Oz time).

ZX Spectrum: First Time For Everything.
AussieAtari replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Classic Console Discussion
OMG, you are one lucky, lucky, lucky bastard Great hauls, I suppose you got the CD32 and GX4000 for a bargain price? As opposed to what seems to be happening in the UK and USA, prices are going through the roof on eBay Oz and it is almost impossible to score things like the CD32 for anything less than AUD$100! Yea the bargain price wasl Free cuase he send them just in time for my birthday on Thanksgiving day And you only rubbed it in further with the book; I paid over AUD$40 for mine as I had to import it from the UK. Oh, the envy, the envy!!!!! -
Steve, I have 5 CoCo III's sitting in a corner of the Cave, do you want me to check out the configurations and get a postage quote for you? If I have a unit that suits you can have it for the cost of the postage and packaging. Coming from Oz they are PAL and 240V so all you would have to do is cut the power lead and change the plug.

Guys, would it be possible to PM each member who has pledged support once the register is up and running on the Opcode site so we can get in and "put our money where our mouths are" and secure our "shares"?

The 8bitdomain mod looks so sweet I placed an order straight after reading this post, thanks remowilliams.

For day to day my Jnr as it is small and easy to have around with all of the other stuff attached to the TV. For pure aesthetics I'd go for one of my 6-swtich woody's.

What are some of your favorite lesser known MAME games?!
AussieAtari replied to yuppicide's topic in Arcade and Pinball
I've just started playing Hyper PacMan, was this an official game (licensed by Namco) or a bootleg of some sort? -
Have you ever bought a system on launch day?
AussieAtari replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Poll Forum
I voted "Yes, several times" on the strength of micro purchases back in the mid-eighties and that was only because I was selling them. Like Rindle, I did buy a DS Lite in Hong Kong a month before they were released in Oz. -
Considering that Colecovisions are going for over AUD$100 on eBay.com.au at the moment (one went for AUD$157 yesterday), there seems to be a fair bit of interest in the units here in Oz Not that good for us who are after a back up unit for our tired consoles or the last bit of missing hardware (Expansion Module #1). Anyway, back on thread, I think the meter and register is a really good idea so we can be sure that everybody is "registered" and know when the required level of capital has been reached. As I'm over the water, I could help with testing of PAL capabilities but not much more than that, for me this is a great way of supporting a fantastic home brew effort.

AussieAtari replied to Murph74's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I don't suppose anyone would be willing to pick one up for me and post USPS to Oz? I'll settle with you via PayPal. -
