Favorite console of the 32bit generation?
AussieAtari replied to sega saturn x's topic in Classic Console Discussion
N64 for me, love Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Mario Kart 64 and Conker's Bad Fur day (mainly because it is so non-nintendo). Four player Goldeneye is just great. Virtua Cop 2 on my Saturn with the light gun takes a bit of beating though. -
Whilst on the 99/4A subject, does anyone know if you can polish out the marks that appear on the brushed aluminium covers (console & voice module), and what causes them? Also, is there a composite video hack so I can get rid of the RF box and enjoy a super clear picture?

buying flashback 2 in the UK?
AussieAtari replied to peteb's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
That was cheap for the console, thanks for the link, looks like I'll go that way once I can remember my PayPal password . Are all of the units from this vendor without the orginal box? -
How many places carry Atari games in your town?
AussieAtari replied to jboypacman's topic in Atari 2600
We have a franchise in Oz called Game Traders that is pretty wide spread and the owners usually have a lot of older stuff (including Atari gear) out the back or at home which they never list but will drag out if you ask. The one near me always has 2600 carts on display for AUD$9.95 but mostly really common stuff, but I did pick up arcade sticks for my SNES and Mega Drive for $30 total yesterday which I was pretty pleased about. Now that eBay is getting crazy the store prices seem more reasonable. -
What can I say, I like the white controllers over the black ones
-
Ah yes, I have a reasonable collection of the catalogues and brochures for the TI that feature Bill and those tremendous '80s fashions.
-
Good list, I've been looking for a complete Adam system for years but they just never seem to come up in Oz. They are out there as I used to sell them in the '80s but were bloody expensive! I had to pass on a complete Intellivision hardware collection last year due to no cash, it went for under AUD$150, I could have cried.

buying flashback 2 in the UK?
AussieAtari replied to peteb's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
No such luck so far, Amazon does not let any of it's marketplace vendors ship electronics out of the USA and it's territories. I might try to contact some of the stores directly to see if they will ship to Oz. If anyone know of a store that will, I'd love to know. -
I've had my TI since new and it is pretty much bullet proof and gets duted off every once in a while for a bout of Parsec and Munch Man. I still use the original joysticks which are a pain, so I might add to my TI playing pleasure by seeking out an adaptor and use my Wico sticks. Keying programs in to the undersized keyboard is a pain but the carts are foolproof and the use of additinal memory wihtin the actual carts made for some great quality games for the system. Wasn't the biggest claim to faim for the TI, hardware-wise, that it was the first home computer with a 16-bit processor and used technology from the space program?

The link is great, I had no idea such a store existed, now to try their export service and order some desperately needed expansion stuff.

60,000 Rev C's on the water...
AussieAtari replied to Curt Vendel's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Tomorrow is "D-Day" for the Flashback 2.5/3, has there been any update as to whether or not Atari have given it the go-ahead? -

Klax is the main reason my Lynx is used and is what finally dragged my wife kicking and screaming into gaming addiction. She now has a DS with heaps of games but still turns on the Lynx for a Klax fix every now and then. A great game. I'm going to have to add STUN Runner to the collection though, judging by the voting so far.

buying flashback 2 in the UK?

Where did you import it from? I cannot find a US vendor who will ship to Oz and am guessing that one who will ship to the UK will ship to here. -
One of the journos from the new Retro Gamer lists ET as his favourite game of all time.
-
For some reason Atari Lynx II come up regularly on eBay.com.au, usually with games and for between AUD$20 to AUD$30.

Our DS and Lite are keeping us going in grand style whilst everything else is packed away to keep out the dust from our renovations. We are gaming more than ever before and my wife, who was not a gamer at all before she got a DS, is playing more than me, so this is truly a good thing (helps justify the purchases of all things retro gaming related ). I could not imagine playing Bomberman on one screen as it would be too cramped, there is a fair bit of info on the second screen.

Right now it is a mint condition Vectrex with games in boxes all complete. After that it will be a complete and all working Apple IIc.

I was going to recommend Ladybug, but after seeing it only scored a “C” on the list, maybe not. It’s still one of my favourite CV games though. Thanks for the link Jess, it’s great.

2600 Vader Boxed in Australia for $0.99 !
AussieAtari replied to IG Computers ^_^'s topic in Auction Central
Hi there, please PM me the list of your other items as I cannot access eBay at work but would like to see what's on offer. Thanks. -
Not that it helps, but Shenzen is the best place I reckon. Beware of all the multicarts you will see for the GBA as the games shown on the box (how can you fit 120 GBA games onto one GBA cartridge?!?) are not those on the cart. The carts for any of the Nintendo systems usually contain NES games, which is fine sometimes. Most of the retro gaming stuff I have found in China is dodgy apart from the great bargains you can get for second hand original games. Have fun and don't forget to haggle

Whats your favorite Pac-man Inspired game for the 2600?
AussieAtari replied to jboypacman's topic in Atari 2600
Jawbreaker, but that would be quickly replaced by a PAL version of Ladybug. -
I did like Atlantis back in the day so will go for that, although I'll have to dig it out and play it again after reading some of the posted comments. I prefer Shark Shark overall on the old systems and am having fun with my newly acquired fishing rod controller and Sega Bass Fishing on my DC. Now to search for a copy of Fathom for my TI99/4A.

I voted "other" as it is the N64 for me, followed by the 2600, Colecovision and then Intellivision.

Whats your favorite game for the Atari 2600?
AussieAtari replied to Codysgames's topic in Atari 2600
I bought River Raid when it was first released and it has been my favourite since that day.
