Ladybug (my fave CV game) & Donkey Kong.
I'm going to clear the decks in the Cave soon and play around with my CV Multi-cart and still-in-the-box Roller and Super controllers, so there will be plenty of CV action at my place soon!

The PS3 is AUD$999, which is USD$802.80 at today's exchange rate.

The TV adaptor is the original Commodore Amiga unit. It has RCA jacks for Audio In, Video Out (could this be used with an Apple IIe monitor?) and TV out with a "H/L" channel selector switch.
It has a duplicate plug to that on the back of the Amiga for RGB out, can I simply use a serial cable to connect them or do I have to use a purpose-made cable?
What is the adaptor I need to use to connect the Amiga monitor cable to my VGA monitor cable and prevent damage due to the power out from the Amiga?
This is frustrating, I have all of these old monitors but they are either Apple or VGA, no Commodore units and no hope of ever getting one. I gather I'll have the same or similar issues with connecting my STFM as well.
Actually Remo, whilst I have your attention, what is the "Mono" jack for on the Amiga, is it simply a mono audio out jack?

Not the sort of thing Sony was expecting in a big Sony market:
The launch of Sony's PlayStation 3 games console got off to a feeble start last night last night with officials, media and security outnumbering customers for most of the evening.
Over 500 retailers around the country threw open their doors as the clock struck 12:00am, expecting the frenzy that accompanied the games console's overseas debuts.
But most stores were virtually deserted, despite the 20,000 pre-orders Sony said it had received.
Even at the official launch event held at Myer's Pitt Street store in Sydney's CBD and attended by Sony's local managing director, Michael Ephraim, media and security outnumbered PS3 fans until at least 11:00pm.
At midnight, about 40 PS3 buyers had arrived to collect their consoles, causing distress for the army of camera crews who turned up expecting to capture launch mayhem.
Desperate producers unashamedly asked the crowd to fake excitement when the cameras were rolling, while a team from 2Day FM let out bogus cheers to convince their radio listeners that a launch extravaganza was underway.

I have a NEC Multisync monitor I would like to use with my Amiga 500s, is it all right to simply plug it in, connect it up and see if it works (syncs down to 15Hz) or could that damage the monitor?
Is there anywhere that lists the NEC Multisync models and what their capabilities are?
Also, I have a TV-out adaptor for the Amiga but no cable; does it require a special cable?

Sort of surprised they're doing it for the Wii... is it going to be faithful to the original, or are they doing it as a 3D perspective with powerups and stuff?
From the screen shots I have seen it looks pretty faithful to the original and (thankfully) not an attempt to create a 3D version.

Does Impossible Mission qualify as a platformer?
If so, that's my recommendation - and it's soon to be out for the DS and Wii which I for one am looking forward to.

Donkey Kong Country for me as well, for all of the reasons listed above.
I have not tried out Mario Vs DK 2 on the DS yet but have heard positive things about it so am looking forward to that hopefully being another great DK title.

There's a lot of stuff that's getting needlessly thrown away.....I think that's an excellent idea. Call it something like "Free Market". Seriously, this needs to be done. It's a crying shame that these irreplaceable items, which have survived 20 - 30 years or so, only now to be tossed aside like so much refuse. There really is no excuse for it.
I reckon that would fast become the most read forum, it would be a good idea to also split "Free Market" up by country with a summary listing - that would make it quite user friendly.

More hit the tip on the weekend (where we have an electronics recycling centre); two Mac Classics, a P1 75Mhz PC, a Celeron 400Mhz PC, an Apple IIc, two Apple IIe's and a IIc green screen.
It was hard to do but I need the space and simply don't need many multiples of systems, I'm keeping two of most of my older systems, one for use and one as a back-up.

MicroProse published a helicopter sim in the early days of the PC, I think it was an Apache simulator that I was hooked on for a while, just the right blend of complexity and action, although it was a bit hard to fly at times.

I agree with Pixelboy, but having a combination of your issue (married with kids) and Lemmi's (ADD) I put an hour or so in one night a week after everyone has gone to bed or is immersed in their own thing.
I find that 1 hour is enough to let me know if I have the interest and the time to get into a complex game, classic or not.
Often it is the older games that cause me to look up and see that 4 hours have already passed!
Whatever it is, it has to be able to support 1-2 hours play time maximum otherwise it just does not work out for me. So games with long delays between providing passwords/save points tend to take a heck of a lot longer than they should (James Pond on the GBA for example).

The 3.6V lithium battery might be dead. I think that can stall the boot process without returning an error chime.
I'm surprised to hear that you've had a difficult time finding an old Mac. I always see them in the thrift stores. Pretty much everything else has dried up in the thrifts, but I always see old Macintoshes.
Same over here, old Macs are quite common and very cheap. I've got two Classics sitting in a back room ready to go to the tip so if there is any hardware I can rip out for you to help get yours "back on the road", just let me know.
Sending components to the USA from here is not expensive.

A bit harder this one, as I guess that many will not have played many, if any, of the titles.
I went for -
Mario Party 5 as it is still played at our place, I have not tried any of the later ones with the microphones but will probably pick up 6 or 7 for the Cube when they go on clearance.
Mario Bros Game & Watch - for those who have not played them there is a great Game & Watch emulator collection floating about on the web.
I have not played any Wario games so I will be watching to see which one comes out on top as a guide to put one of them on the shopping list.
Luigi's Mansion is a great game, a bit underrated I think. I plan to try Yoshi's Island DS soon.
I have not played any of the Mario educational games.

Unfortunately, there's been no other details whatsoever announced, with Commodore Gaming CEO Bala Keilman only going so far as to say that the PCs will deliver "what gamers need and want." It looks like we won't have to wait too long for the complete rundown, however, with the company promising to reveal everything (including playable systems) at CeBIT on March 15th." All I'm gonna say is, the dang rigs better be beige with brown keys, and there better be a "LOAD '*' ,8,1" screensaver. Some things are sacred.

My opinion is the Wii, as it's the closest thing to a modern-day 2600 in bringing the family together etc, which will see it placed in a number of homes that would not normally have bought consoles. We have two friends who have done just that after playing Wii and they are non-gamers.
Reality in Oz though is the PS3 will probably win overall as this is a BIG Sony market, the price point is the only thing that may see it lose.

Well, It's not the 80 column/64K card as that is in it's usual place in slot 0, and I'm still none the wiser.
The card is in slot 1, which is where I want to put a Super Serial Card.
Here is the chip set list from the card and a picture, I'm trying to find information on the actual chips now to see if I can get an idea that way.

That's a good question, does anybody know? It would be interesting to get an insight into Nintendo's distrubution ideas based on country and PAL/NTSC.
