  1. Yes It quite cool, 40 games just think about there were roughly 140 commercial/legacy titles released in the 80's
  2. And that is why we also like the 80's games to much Actually the real truth is we just want to go back to the 80's cause in that time we were still young, and *COULD* pick up girls now its just old woman at 40+

  8. hmmm I think its up to the programmer, if he think its boring I dont find porting boring, other people might find it boring - and for people who never did a port, dont think its easy. If porting is programming.... Hmmm, I will say you have to have some skills to do porting, so programming skills are needed. Within the last 3 years, I have completed more than 10 ports for ColecoVision and Memotech MTX. And ofcause its more and more easy to do them, the first port took years, I remember porting Spectron from ColecoVision to Memotech in a weekend!
  9. My MSX Conversions was not done this way - Not sure how Opcode work, but I hope he have some tools like you said, cause porting MSX megaroms will be a real pain. E.G Penguin Adventure using bankswitching etc.
  10. I am qualified to be one of those bad guys then, with in the past few years converted 5 games published by Collectorvision, and 2 upcomming will be published by Team Pixelboy, and still have two extra ready games ready, but no publisher yet You might say the main gamecode is the same, but as a programmer we could say what you pay for, is our code, for joypad emulation, interrupt handling and sound emulation I have to ask did you ever try to take a binary file from MSX or SG-1000 and convert it to Colecovision ? - We would all love to see the magic tool you are talking about Its quite hard work, most of my converted games, I use more time to make a useable sourcecode from the original binary file, than to actually make it run on the ColecoVision. You have indexed jumps, tables in tables, what is addresses, what is code, graphics, sounddata etc. A game I currently work on, used more 2 months, to make a useable sourcecode, the first buggy running alpha version of the colecovision rom took maybe days. And now the game is almost finished, I guess i used 3-5 weeks. But I would like to test your magic tool, which can do more than 99% of the work
  11. hehe 8 hours of driving, road never turns no cars. Nothing, no pause key Who will be beta tester on a ColecoVision port
  12. Hi. Any one want a Colecovision port of Desertbus ? Before you say YES, please watch (it stats around 3:30) Desert Bus - Angry Video Game Nerd - Episode 119 Even my wife was laughing very much about his review,
  13. I took a look around the code, and from that its clear that Monkey Arcademy was first created at the MSX and then converted to ColecoVision, in the proto they even left the original code to set up the interrupt at MSX Its also interesting to notice the Prototype Monkey Arcademy looks like the MSX version, the non-prototypes of Monkey Arcademy (for Colecovision), have a different screenlayout and you can choose between +,-,x and division. You might think "and so what?", its just Info, In case somebody care
  14. its something with bit 1 ? bit 1= 2 decimal. S is shown as Q 2 is shown as 0 K is shown as I what is common for those is if you take the ascii value of the lette should be shown, and set bit 1 to 0, (minus 2 if you want), then you get what is show on the screen. But not sure what its is cause if the vram was bad bit 1 always=zero, then i would suspect sprites and letters and other graphics to be bad too.
  15. Digger was not released ? It seems like a quite funny game, played a few stages Quite good graphics, but also a bit spriteflicker. Also have flicker sometimes at the big font, maybe the programmer used sprites for letters ?
  16. with software its easy, I dont know how they did it by hardware. Some MSX computers have hardware pause buttons.
  17. I have been thinking about porting some text adventures, but not sure people today would like the old Text only adventures, also been thinking about a CV version of the MSX "Hobbit", should be possible.
  18. coca cola and chips ? thats programmers energy...
  19. Hi A Intellivision game I have been working on, maybe will be released by Collectorvision, I need a MUSIC guy, if you can help send me a PM.
  20. the problem might not be to port, but more to get the rights from the programmer
  21. Playstation (1) ? its already 20 years old it came out in 1994 and the Colecovision 1982, so actually the Colecovision is only 12 years older So who knows in 12 years, maybe the homebrew game for Playstation as cool as the ColecoVision is today? Another math could be done since the Playstation 1 is 12 years younger than the Colecovision, we could calculate backwards, and see how was the Colecovision homebrew scene back in 2003 ? I think more than 1500 games was released for the Playstation 1, so the the Homebrew scene for the Playstation have a bit of way to go We already passed the point where more hombrews have been released than original Colecovision releases And I am sure even after 12 years, there are still a lot of Playstation 1's around, who know how many Colecovision's are around compared to the originals released 1982-1984 ? Do anybody know how many units was every produced ?
  22. Hi Guys I am a big fan of the Movie Wargames, dont know how many times I can watch it have you ever noticed the logo "Protovision" in the movie look very much like the "ColecoVision" logo ? This came from the Wargames Facebook group: "Did you know...The studio had both Galaga and Galaxian machines delivered to Matthew Broderick's home, where he practiced for two months to prepare for the arcade scene." Thats cool, but he is only playing Galaga not Galaxian
  23. From my Memory, Compile did more MSX2 than MSX1 games. There games were great. Besides it was Japanese text games Great games like: Aleste, Zanac-ex, Super Cooks, Puyo-Puyo, Runemaster 1+2+3. I think most games was released at floppydisks.
