  1. Also working on "Memotech MTX Games Collection Vol.2" Among others will have StarCommand and Nemo. Those two games are already running in emulator Maybe this time there are only space for 3 games, but lets see. I think i can have the rom finished within a 1-2 weeks since I have hollydays - but wifes "to do list" is long so who knows
  2. and memory is 1024 bytes from $7000, its mapped/mirrored to other addresses. You cant use all 1024 bytes safely cause of the stack. Bios calls also uses some specific addresses. I have seen games which dont use any bios calls at all. Eg. Spectron by Spectravideo. thats why it was pretty easy to convert this to Memotech MTX You can read joysticks and keypads by one out and one in command, it returns a bit-pattern to check which status the keypad or joystick have.
  3. The Minedetector shows up to 3 mines nearby, and you can move up/down/left/right. So it detects mines around you, like north/south/east/west. But there is a bug in Level 2, when start that it should display 1 mine nearby (the border) south from the player, but it shows 0 mines nearby. It will only show number of mines, to a spot you can move to, not like minesweeper in windows. So max number of mines is 3. The border around the playerfield marked with X are also detected as mines.
  4. Hi. Yes I think its a cool game, the graphics is good for a 1983 game, and Its not boring, when you first get used to play it, for sure its not action. I am plan to offer it on Cartridge, and already designed a nice label for it. I will keep the forum updated when its ready....

Hi When develop at Colecovision, I used the PCB from Harvey Dekleine. http://www.colecovis...ekleine-pcb.jpg I then soldered a test-socket ont he it. so I can easy change the flash chip or test a real Eprom. Like this one: http://www.aliexpres.../907664307.html Problem is i have to remove top cover of the Colecovision to fit the PCB, cause the test-socket is to thick compared to a normal socket. Any one know about a slot extender, should basicly be a PCB with a slot on the top, just to extend an inch or so I guess.
  6. The Memotech MTX dont use 3" discs as I know. Normaly 5.25" but most people had it without discsystem, only using tapes. Its possible to connect a normal Tape-recorder or use pc sound card to record and load games into it. The Memotech MTX500 have 32kb memory and the MTX512 have 64K there was also a RS128 which had 128+kb memory as I know. But the same hardware. So its Colecovision/Sord/SG1000 compaible. Those computers had build in basic just like MSX and Spectravideo, so at the basic prompt you can safely use the Memory from around 0x8100-0xF000, if it have a discsystem attached maybe dont go more up than 0xD000 or so. The system also had a 8" drive, and people also played with 3.5" drives, now a day we can even use a add on called "Rememorizer" which accept a SD-card as "disk-drive". - www.mtxworld.dk

  9. Have to agree with Opcode, Roadfighter is a nasty one to Port. I Already ported Pacman (MSX) and Comic Bakery (MSX) to the Memotech MTX computer (Almost same hardware specs. as the CV, just a bit quicker CPU). Actually I also have a runable verison of Roadfight at the Memotech MTX, but the soundemulation is not ok yet. But game runs. But its quite fun to do those ports - of cause wife thinks it waste of time but I dont

  11. got it work the RF unit is very weird, so i gave up to use it, but now my composite mod work, why it failed, cause wrong wired phono connector and i skipped the potentiometer. Just shortcut the two wires. The picture is not perfect, but its still ok for gaming. So now I just need an eeprom programmer, then I can finaly test my Conversions.... //CLAUS - Sweden.

Hi Just got a CV system from USA, Got a 110v converter for using with our 220v system here, it should handle 100watts but it seems like the system dont work, i get a picture not very clear, i get colors (the TV support NTSC), but the CV keep said that i didn put in a game cartrigde. Noises from the TV, No game run. Can it be the problem with the 110v converter? Maybe its better to build a new PSU for the CV. //Claus - Sweden.

I am thinking to import a NTSC Colecovision, but since we use 220v i think the powersupply with the system, wont work, I could buy a step-down converter - but is it hard to modify the power supply to work on 220v or better to buy a new powersupply and make it from scratch ? another problem might be the tv-output from the Colecovision, since my tv are PAL. But newer tv's should support both NTSC and PAL and also work in 50 and 60 hz mode. //Claus - Denmark.
  15. Well, it would be slightly more challenging if the enemies actually shot some kind of projectile at the player. Enemies with more "exotic" flight trajectories would be a welcomed improvement as well. With a little work, perhaps you could even turn this game into a port of Astro Blaster, or a similar arcade game. Yeah, that can be arranged, actually quite easily, but like I said, it's a year old project, it's done with. There's bigger and badder things that I want to accomplish. One of my projects, which you, Pixelboy might actually be interested in is to write a chess game for the Colecovision in Z80 assembly language. I want to do it in under 4Ks. Of course it will have AI. At what level? Not quite sure, probably enough to beat most casual players. Will keep you all updated here. Maybe I'll create a thread to talk about the shortcomings and pitfalls I've encountered along the way. This is all new to me. I've already written assembly language programs with recursion, but to develop the AI required for chess is truly something new and challenging for me! Hi. if anyone want to share z80 assembler games, please let me know. I want to conver your games to Memotech MTX, this computer shares the same hardware as CV. I already converted John Dondzilas game of Space invaders, but any game could be nice to bring to life on Memotech MTX. Amazing people still work vit CV and other old colsoles anyway i bet that if anyone wants to write a Windows Game, 4kb is only to print the Score -Claus- Webmaster at www.mtxworld.dk (Not updated for long time )
