Excelent! One question before I put my hands to work. What are the other OS's? I know you must have one XL OS and a 400/800 OS. But what about the other two? One of those must be MYIDE OS, I bet... Regards
-
Sure the Translator Disk will do it. But what about burning an EPROM with the 400/800 OS and put it into the 800XL? I have a burner and some eproms... Regards

Hi I just bought Gorf and Demon Attack, two excelent cart games for the 400 and 800. Just for curiosity, I plugged Gorf on my 800XL computer, but nothing happens on the screen. I know some old games have compatibility issues with the XL/XE computers. I'm sure this must be the case. This issue led me to the next questions: Can I replace the XL's original OS with a 400/800 OS (A.K.A. OS-B) ? Will the XL launch Gorf after I replaced the original OS? Regards

Hi I've just bought a 4-switches woody in its original box from Ebay. The problem I have is that the console came without the inner boxes, the ones that keep joysticks, console, and accesories in place into the big box. I want to build that little boxes from scratch. Please, I need someone to provide me with good pictures of that boxes, and if you have a ruler near you, some measures would be great too. Best if you can draw a template of that boxes and post them here, so I can draw them over cardboard, cut the pieces and build that little boxes. That way I'll keep everything in it's right place. Thank you PS: I attached a picture of a sixer. The arrows show the boxes I need to build. Note that my console is a 4 switches, and its box measures 13 x 4.5 x 23.5 inches. Don't know if a 6 switches box has the same measures.

Thanks! That did the trick! Regards

Hi I am playing with the magnificent ENVISION tool for the Atari; it helps you to re-define the characters set and to design maps for your own games. Well, right now I am designing a map. I want to 'export' the map to a MAC65 file. This is made by using the "WRITE SCREEN TO DISK AS DATA STATEMENTS (SELECT+W)" option, entering M (for MAC/65 format), and TEST.M65 for the filename. Then I switch to MAC65 and try to load the file previously created by Envision. I type "LOAD#D2:TEST.M65" with no success. All I get is a "ERROR 23 - NOT SAVE FILE" message. Anybody tried to load in MAC65 a file created with Envision? Regards

Can anyone help me on Journey To the Planets?
lbaeza replied to Ross PK's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
JTP: Great game, one of my favs. Indeed, no ending exists for this game. One day spent in bed with flu, I played this game and got stuck in the same place you did. I've heard of a wonderful ending, where you find a planet with other UFOs and guys like you....but never seen something like that. More on this subject: http://groups.google.cl/group/comp.sys.ata...e942298c1649f22 Sorry. No ending... -

Hi I already have a 4-sw woody (and a 6er too), although I am interested in yours only because of the box. Is that box in good shape? Picture shows only the front of the box...any flaps missing? And how much money do you want? Regards -

This is not a kids product! And those red little buttons look odd... Regards -
Hi Guys Thanks for the link, Mitch. Making one of these PCBs from scratch is very difficult. Mostly because of the lines on both sides of the board. Memblers, if you have success on this task, I'd be glad to hear from you. Anyway, B&C sells those prototype/demo carts for $39.95, and that's the cheapest EPROM-based cart I found on the net. Anybody knows if these carts have the EPROMs directly soldered onto the board, or there's a socket between the EPROM and the PCB? Regards

Hi I recently purchased an EPROM burner, and have some EPROMs too. I want to burn some EPROMs with some Lynx games to play'em on my Lynx 2. To achieve this, I need some kind of Lynx cart were I can plug the EPROMs. Anybody knows where can I purchase one of these Lynx eprom-based carts? How much money does one of these carts costs? Regards PS: Take a look to the attachment to figure out what I'm looking for.

Atari Announces Flashback 2.0
lbaeza replied to Jetboot Jack's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
The Amazon entry for the FB2 is ready, but there's no info about the product description and the price. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...ce&s=videogames Regards PS: Has anybody noticed that the FB2 box features pictures of several thirty-somethings guys and only ONE kid ? -
Thanks for the replys, guys. Looks simpler to 'duplicate' the hardware of the MAC65 cart, and set it up into an Atari cart case. Components are not that hard to find, plus Jindroush's site has some good photos and schematics on that cart. Maybe I'll give it a shot. Regards
-
Hi I recommend you buy a ready-to-be-used-with-EPROMs PCB sold at the AtariAge Store. Those work really fine and you don't need to go through the hassle of soldering cables, bypassing lines and stuff. Made my own ZIF-EPROM cart with one of those AtariAge PCBs and I am very glad with the results. Regards

Hi I have a binary dump of a MAC/65 EPROM cart (binary file). I bought a 16K PCB from the AA Store. I want to burn a EPROM with the MAC/65 binary and use it with the PCB. So far I know the MAC/65 cart uses a special bankwitching scheme, so burning the binary on a EPROM and put it on the standard 16K PCB won't work. Is there a way I can 'convert' the binary dump so it could be burned on an EPROM and be used with a standard 16K PCB? Regards

Hi Nice pictures Steve. BTW, I have an 800 without its box, only the polyestyrene packaging. If anybody has a spare box for my 800, please PM me. Regards PS: I assume both the old and xl-style 800 box have the same dimensions...anybody can confirm this?
