  1. Hi Atari8BitCarts Thanks for sharing those pictures of your collection, I can see you have the "little box" version of Space Invaders... Is that a cartridge version? If this is the case, can you please post a picture of the box and the cartridge? Thanks in advance, Louis BQ
  2. Cool, thanks for sharing. Never seen this one. I compared it to the official Star Raiders II manual found on Atarimania, and they are very different from each other. Kind regards, Louis BQ
  3. Hi Atari8bitCarts Can you please let me know more details about the criteria you use to include titles on your cartridge list? I am asking if you use source information like titles listed on official catalogs, direct input from owners of a paricular cartridge, and so on... Do you own every title on your cartridge list? In case somebody that owns a particular title wants his title added to your list...do you request additional details like pictures of the cartridge and box, if that is the case? How do you detect or validate false/erroneous data that may be sent to you to be added to your cartridge list? Please let me know. Kind regards, Louis BQ
  4. Hi Bill Thanks for uploading that picture. I suspect there is no cartridge version released with that A5 box as seen on your picture. I will continue clarifying this issue on this thread. Kind regards, Louis BQ
  5. Hi On this thread I asked more details regarding Space Invaders. They said that the first version was released in a little box on cassette, and then later in a big box on cartridge. Now looking at the Excel file I see this: Does CXL4008 released in 1979 and listed as "Space Invaders (small box Black)" really exist as a cartridge? I have not been able to locate a picture of this version. My guess is that this is really the cassette version, and that it should be removed from the Excel file. Kind regards, Louis BQ PS: What is the meaning of the background color used on the cells?
  6. Hi Looking at the video I noticed some titles are shown: Space Invaders Computer Chess Super Breakout Basketball 3D Tic Tac Toe Video Easel I have Computer Chess, 3D Tic Tac Toe and Video Easel and they all came in these little boxes. I didn't know there was a Space Invaders in "little box" version, I only know the big box version....maybe the little box version is the cassete version, and the big box version corresponds to the cartridge version? I googled for a picture of Space Invaders in little box with no luck...anyone can share a picture of Space Invaders, the little box version? Thanks in advance, Louis BQ
  7. devwebcl Good for you! Do you have the issue I am talking about? Kind regards, Louis BQ
  8. Thanks for the tip, Atari_Ace! Here's a link to the page: https://ia802506.us.archive.org/BookReader/BookReaderImages.php?zip=/0/items/acec_newsletter-1988-02/ACEC_1988_02_February_jp2.zip&file=ACEC_1988_02_February_jp2/ACEC_1988_02_February_0007.jp2&scale=4&rotate=0 Back in the day I remember that a local magazine called Dos Puntos came out. This magazine was oriented to young people and teenagers, it had comic strips, cultural notes and some technology notes. The issue I still have included a C64 printed in color, ready to be cut and glued. Once you ended the job, it measured like 10x4x25 centimeters. I wish they did the same with an 800XL, but I think they never did it. That magazine had a very short life. And my cardboard C64 is long gone. Kind regards, Louis BQ
  9. Hi guys I know there are papercraft for computers like this PET or other microcomputers...: But I have not been able to locate one for our Atari computers. Any ideas where can I find one? Kind regards, Louis BQ
  10. Yeah, I recognized Minter in that picture, and right away I knew the names were not listed in the proper order. More details on Woakes softography: http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/view/developerId,97450/ Regards, Louis BQ
  11. Sad to read the creator of Encounter has passed away. Encounter is one of my all time favorite games. Other games by Woakes are Mercenary - Escape from Targ and Mercenary - The Second City. http://www.atarimania.com/screenshots_games_atari-400-800-xl-xe-woakes-paul_team_1436_8_G.html Regards, Louis BQ
  12. Hi Glad to know you took my comments the right way. Unfortunately I have limited time to post on the forum, so I was not able to explain in detail why it should work or not for you. Is good to see somebody playing with the Atari at the ROM level, in a similar to what I did not long ago. Please keep us updated with your findings. Kind regards, Louis BQ
  13. Hi It looks like you have a confusion regarding Atari executable files and ROM files. You cannnot take an Atari executable (XEX) file, burn it into an EPROM, and try to boot your Atari from that EPROM. It will not work. You can only do this by using proper ROM cartridge files only. These have usually the BIN or ROM extension. Finally, burning an EPROM with a CAR file contents will not work also. CAR files are useful for emulators only, they tell it what type of cartridge is the dump contained within the CAR file itself. Regards, Louis BQ
  14. Interesting. Label says "Fabricado en México por Sistemas Inteligentes, s.a. de c.v.", which translates to "Made in Mexico by Sistemas Inteligentes, s.a. de c.v.". I doubt those XEs were made in Mexico, I am pretty sure those were made in Taiwan, like the ones sold here in Chile. Michael...do you have a picture from the top of that XE? Regards, Louis BQ
  15. Hi there What are the dimensions of this Atari poster? And what are the dimensions of each of the game images? Since I have had not been able to locate a copy of this poster, I am planning to re-create it... Regards, Louis BQ PS:I can tell that the image for Asterix is not the official game art, but a placeholder picture...any ideas where can I find a big resolution picture of that placeholder image?

  19. Hi I am helping a friend to troubleshoot his 130XE computer remotely, I don't have physical access to his computer. The computer has several issues, broken keyboard membrane and possibly a bad Antic. But one thing is a mistery to me with this computer: it has several resistors soldered right at the SIO port. Please see attached picture. Any ideas what is the purpose of these resistors on the SIO port? Kind regards, Louis BQ PS: The original thread in spanish can be found here: http://www.atariware.cl/aw/foro/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=3022

  21. Hi Is kenfused the AA username for Ken Siders, the guy who recently died? We all have to be thankful for his utilities and his K ATR standard... Regards, Louis BQ
