Make sure to get mommy's permission before you get a seller's hopes up! -

Dragon's Lair Command Module for TI99/4A *SOLD*
jesusc replied to nanochess's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I always feel bad for homebrew developers whom put forth all the effort, yet due to time + scarcity end up with the least amount of profit from their work. That is NOT a knock against anyone selling their stuff for what people are willing to pay for it down the road, please don't read it as being so. It just kinda sucks for the developer. -
you misspelled "hot"

Know how I know you didnt really read my post?

I'm sorry you're having issues. But dont let your anecdotal experience taint your overall view of this fine product. It's not all bad. Take my experience for example: 1) set up machine and had to do manual firmware update just like you because of the update loop. 2) Used VCSLOVE code to "purchase" Atari 50. Downloaded and installed game. 3) Started game, system crashed. Had to power cycle 4) Started game again, played a few things (why is the game volume so low?) and tried to exit game. System crashed and I had to power cycle. 5) Started the game again. Began going through the timeline stuff. During a video, I had to pause it so I could take a phone call. Two minutes later tried to unpause the video. Nothing doing. System was frozen. Had to power cycle. Atari is Lucy, the VCS is the football, and we're Charlie Brown. Have you played Atari today? Not if we can help it!

Keyboard is optional? Thought you had to have one so that you could get to the menu where you tell boot manager to boot from usb. If the VCS will automatically boot from USB that's great.

Here's a youtube video to walk you through it. Link to firmware is in show notes.

Seven pinned threads, and the answer to the question that comes up over and again isn't one of them. You'll need a separate pc, a wired usb keyboard, a usb stick, a link to the Atari firmware, and a program to write the firmware to that USB stick. If using a Windows PC, copy and paste rufus.ie into your web browser. That's a good/free program to write the firmware. A link to the firmware (it's a google drive link) can be obtained via a pinned message in the Atari VCS discord. Easy to follow instructions for the process can be found here if you search (sorry, I don't have the exact thread handy.) I just fixed this on a new machine this morning, but I remembered how to do it because I had to do it with my old machine when I got it.

Bought a second console last week when they were ~$200 direct from Atari to keep stock. Turned the $99 Vader version into a Windows machine and disabled the Atari side of it. Spent the last hour and half setting it up and I can confirm it's STILL a pain in the peener to get this thing working properly. Having had gone through the update loop nonsense before, at least I knew I'd have to flash the firmware via USB. It's all good now, and my free copy of Atari 50 is just about finished downloading. Kinda ridiculous that after all this time a person can't just buy the system, set it up, and be using it without hassle but I suppose they're trying since this latest update seems to have worked properly for some people.

That Performance ac adapter was trash. Cant believe the prices people pay for it now. I was referring to an official ac adapter in my previous post.

Rather recently I was shown a Virtual Boy ac adapter that was sort of branded. I always assumed they just tossed in the usual snes adapter. Why spend the money to make another mold. They did though. It says something like For Use with Super Nintendo Control Deck and Virtual Boy.

Nintendo never sealed their systems. Glad to see it was poor memory and not silly fronting.

Perfect example of why I hate people treating price charting as if it were gospel. -
Maybe it's because I read a lot of comics, but the all caps thing never bothered me.

I'm curious how many forums were graced with this inquiry. I can't imagine AA is the first place one would think to ask about Playstation stuff. -

I understand wanting to sell them as a pair to save you shipping, but I'll buy one and pay shipping if you decide to break up the pair. -
