  1. Well, you answered your own question there. As far as the hardware smoking the SNES and Genesis, yes it did. However, if I released a console tomorrow that specs wise blew away the PS2 and Xbox yet more than half it's library were games that were ports of PS2 and Xbox games with little noticable difference, don't you think that that would make my system inconsequential? I know the world sucks and videogame "journalists" are all part of some big conspiracy, but what if EGM gave the Jag that "bad press" because they believed the system deserved it? Let's not be revisionist here either. In the beginnning, EGM had a very bright outlook concerning the Jag. It wasn't until it became apparant that the slow trickle of bad games wasn't ever going to be replaced with a gushing tide of great software that the bad press started. The Jag gets bashed because in most people's opinion it deserves it, that's all. I post here to give some balance. The main problem with this forum is that there seems to be no logic or reason to many of the defenses offered up in the name of the jag. Don't get me wrong, if you like something, that is fine; you don't have to defend that, but often posters here do with stupid arguements. So what if the system is ten years old. Most of the games weren't fun ten years ago either. Whereas the NES is almost twenty years old and infinitely more playable. I love how if someone thinks the games overall aren't much good, they are accused of not playing the games in the first place, or even better, of not being a "true gamer". I love the fact that I'm called a troll when i post my own opinion, often with the reasons why I feel the way I do, and yet others call me names, curse me out, and call my sexual orientation into question, and that's all fine and dandy.
  2. Checkered Flag has great music and looks great in screen shots. What more could you want from your Jaguar? and yes the control is not good. However, I've heard that if you stick with the game long enough you can learn to anticipate your turns.
  3. "our games have great music! (except trevor mcfur)"
  4. $80 for total carnage? hell no. It's not even that great of a game (personally liked Smash TV better). $80 for something unique? sure.
  5. Target has had the same bundle for a long time.
  6. any of the games listed that aren't already on other systems. I see no reason for ports or rehashes.
  7. stop trying to have a differing opinion. That's all that really needs to be said. You are allowed to think any way that you want, as long as it fits in with the rest of the group. Otherwise, you are a troll.
  8. Driller, 1987, by Incentive Software.
  9. then they're incorrect (believe it or not, it has been known to happen) Shining Force released end of may/early june of '98. MKR didn't release until november of '98.
  10. you may have been there, but maybe you left before Magic Knight Rayearth was released, as it was the last.
  11. I refuse to believe there is no Santa Claus, but just because I believe so doesn't make it freaking so. Quit posting, you are giving Sega enthusiasts a bad name.
  12. AR:The City and 221 B Baker Street spoken for.
  13. An old EGM had an article on a diamond encrusted gold version as well. If I recall correctly it was like $20,000. Think one of those could be found at your local Goodwill?
  14. There was also a blue Game Gear/Lion King package. As I recall, Majesco not only sold new units that they produced, they also sold old refurbished models. Hence some have the gray dots, some colored.
  15. just the arcade games, not evey GBA game made. I die from unseen shots and stuff like that.
  16. very good point. we had DoA2 and Ready to Rumble 2 running side by side at the store, and most people would pick the wrong system when trying to guess which was which, then when they knew, flaws started sticking out that for some reason couldn't be seen before.
  17. or you could be patient and wait for the 70% or 90% sales. I saw people grabbing up games when they were only 30% off. I wanted to smack them.
  18. to each their own I guess. I find the small screens too hard to see.
  19. you're preaching to the choir when it comes to extolling the greatness of Sega first party, but you have to realize that it's a very small choir. The average consumer thinks Sega is garbage. Panzer Dragoon Orta, Rez, and Outrun 2 are FANTASTIC games if you ask me, but all together they sold like ten copies. Nintendo is hanging in there only because Mario sells and they know how to make a system that isn't going to cripple their bottomline with each unit sold.
  20. It has a mini headphone jack input, so with an adapter, you can plug anything in it you want, as long as it's composite.
  21. it would still be dead. No third parties were really supporting the DC except Capcom, and what good are they (seriously, they're all about the gamecube, and except for Resident Evil 4, what game has had any real market penetration?). Don't read this as though I dislike Capcom or Sega, quite the contrary. but as stated previously, it's about money and what makes it. Without EA's support, the DC was dead in the water. (and it hurts to admit that, as I hate EA; but you can't deny their power in mindshare and thus marketshare)
  22. well, by the time that happened, it'd be 2015. I've had an RPG scenario kicking around for a couple of years. Worked it all out and planned on using RPG Maker to build it, but never did.
