  1. Do you have any kind of reading comprehension?
  2. here it is spelled out. You insinuated that SSX and I were lovers and added an oral sex sound effect, as if being gay were to be a negative. I know of some boards that would ban people for that. Perhaps you are too moronic to see that I was in no way "crying" about being insulted, I don't see being called homosexual as an insult, but the fact that you threw it out there to be one speaks a lot about your character.
  3. Feel free to insult me, but just try to be a little smarter about it. LOL at you totally missing the point.
  4. This was one of the games I recently got in a huge lot. I'm an avid (console) RPG'er and have never heard of this game before. I can't wait to get some AC adapters so that I can try it out.
  5. I bought a boxed atari XEGS from a guy with a couple of disk drives, a cassette loader, and printer; along with about 100 games (equally bootleg and official). However, none of the hardware has the power supplies. Can anyone recommend a decent place to purchase these? I'll ebay if I must, but would rather support a "real" store.
  6. I'm sure you make homophobes and gay bashers round the world proud. Real mature. There's always a reason for sarcasm. If you need it explained, PM me.
  7. All japanese versions: Steeldom Wipeout Gebockers rumors of Hexen, but only through debug menu.
  8. Exactly how I look at it. It's not like every tom, dick, and harry are out there waiting to get the latest jaguar warez. It would seem to me that the people who would want new games in the first place would want to support the game makers in order for future games to be made. We all like free, but I believe most would want to get many games for a cost, rather than just one for free.
  9. my bad, I figured that the whole encryption key thing had to do with copy protection. My apologies if I was under the wrong impression. As to the rest of it, my post was one sentence. Two if you count the "sorry". Your reply was four paragraphs, and to no end, as I'm sure to ignore your points as mine often are. So in the grand scheme of things, who's really wasting space. This whole forum is nothing but repeated statements. How many "best of the best" and "jag recommendations" threads are there? When it becomes law that everyone is limited to stating an opinion only once, I will abide by that happily. Until then, I will repeat myself just as everyone else does. For the record, I don't hate the Jaguar. It has never assaulted my family, poured sugar in my gas tank, or flooded my screen with a bunch of gambling related pop-ups. However; I don't elevate it to the point of lunacy. It had a couple of decent games, and many, many lousy ones. I'm sorry if stating such things gets some people's panties so twisted. I'm sorry some people can't get their heads around the fact that you don't have to worship every game in a systems library in order to be a part of that systems community. I enjoy the Sega Dreamcast quite a bit. That doesn't mean I have to think crap games like TNN Hardcore Heat, Seventh Cross Evolution, and Timestalkers were anything but..well, crap. How's that for wasting the boards space.
  10. wait a minute, he just said a jag game only had OK graphics and awful control...should he hafe to turn in his Atari Club Membership card?
  11. let me tell you, those 16 bit graphics really shine through on 64 bit tech. Plus, you can use the number pad to pull off crazy tricks like bicycle kicks and front flip throw ins. All that , and great music too!
  12. yes it does, so unfortunately you'll have to shell out the $5 to play such gems as Space Ace, Dragon's Lair, and Myst. Sorry.
  13. and you guys think I should be banned?
  14. The EB Games employee sounds like me. I hate stupid customers. I don't know shit about cars, vacuum cleaners, or furniture. However, when it has been time to shop for them, I take the time to learn a little bit about them before hand. It doesn't take much to pick up a little basic knowledge, and as this article shows; it will help you much more than the know-nothings in most retail will.
  15. nothing better than a game you have to work at to like it...
  16. I had no intention of opening the game. I'm not a hardcore pirate or anything, but if I wanted to play the game again (had it years ago, but sold it), I wouldn't lose sleep over burning a copy off the net. Apparently some people regard "mint" as being a higher grade than "new". I used to consider them synonomous; however, I have purchased things "new" that weren't in mint shape (cushed box, cracked case). Overall, they guy knew he was being misleading. I let him get away with it because I'm an impatient person riddled with ADD when it comes to games. They will sit for months untouched, then I sell them, then I buy them back with the intention of actually playing them; but they will sit for months untouched....cycle repeat.

  18. As far as Nights goes, it's the same cycle that most "cult" games go through. (see Radiant Silvergun, Ico, ). Game releases, doesn't garner the attention it deserves, but manages to attract a small fanatical group. Over the years word of mouth spreads, game gets more popular and generally good buzz. Eventually people burn out about hearing how great the game is and a backlash is formed. It becomes hip to bash said game. Few months later, the cycle starts over.
  19. Welcome to the jag forums, where even the tiniest of silver linings is enough to overshadow the largest of black clouds. (yeah, the game sucks, but it has great music!). You'll soon see that no matter how much thought and fact go into your side of a debate, the rebuttals are always the same. Have fun.
  20. Overall, I'd agree with the games included in the list as being great, but not the greatest of all time. Yes, Decathlete was an amazing game receiving high scores from just about every mag, and the Worldwide Soccer series was seen as the best Soccer series. As far as Madden goes, at the time I thought everyone was jizzing over Gameday '98. I know my friends were. However, I am not into sports games and would prefer a "sportless" list as well. But then again, you can't argue that some sports games like Tecmo Superbowl, Mike Tyson's Punch Out, and Baseball Stars have stood the test of time and are highly regarded almost two decades after their release. The Saturn games listed were the creme of the crop, so I've no problem seeing them on the list (psst, though the Saturn was more or less a commercial failure, it did play host to more than a few great games). I would argue Star Control 2 over Return Fire, and the PSX version of Return Fire over the 3DO. I agree that Tempest 2000 definitely deserved a spot on the list.
  21. That's actually a pic of the pad that came with the DuoRX. The standard avenue pad 6 was shaped the same basically, but only had turbo switches for buttons I and II.
  22. Dave Halverson left before the mag folded. When he left ECM became Ed-in-chief, and eventually the company that bought the mag went out of business. Some of the old Gamefan editors among others have recently started a new mag called "Hardcore Gamer Magazine". You can grab a pdf of it from here It's not too bad.
  23. yeah, I bought Hyperforce based on ECM's recommendation. Wish I was smarter then and didn't follow every word he stated as though it were law. I could have saved some money.
  24. I was too young to have the atari when it was current. However, the first system in our house was a friends old Super Pong. My brother got an Intellivision for Christmas in '82 or '83. However, MY first system was the Master System in '86/87. The first time I owned a 2600, I was 15 ('91). I bought it and about 25 games at a garage sale for $10. Since then I've bought and sold many different versions of the unit and currently do not own one, but have the 2600 expansion for the Coleco.
  25. I'd like to thank K3V for taking the time and initiative to do what he did with IS3. I was one of the lucky recipients of said "demo" disc, and the unlucky owner of a N2000. However, I've not encountered any problems with IS3, I just can't play any of the homebrews, mp3's, or any of the other multiple benefits of the N501.
