1. you can't transfer Kotor saves, they are too large.

I had something like that happen at the same place, but mine didn't freeze, it just crawled along at 1 frame per minute. The audio dropped and half the graphics disappeared.

I just left it alone and after a few minutes it caught up with itself.

  2. Another fact to consider is that you paid for the item and never rec'd your due feedback for paying for the item.

This happens to me all the time and I'm sick of it. I've been getting screwed a lot lately (for the record, I don't consider this a screwing, just annoying) and have just let stuff go because I don't want my record tarnished.

I think I'm going to start sending a note with my payment that if feedback isn't left upon receipt of payment, I'm automatically going to give a nuetral.

The seller ended up offering to either pay for shipping for me to ship everything back, or $5. I took the five bucks. It was more about matter of principle than price. Offering something back acknowledges that he was wrong (to me anyway), and that's good enough for me.

Now to see what kind of fedback he leaves, if any.

  3. So I bought a lot off of the eBay that consisted of some 3DO games, one of which was described as new (lucienne's quest). I bid accordingy high and won the auction. I received the stuff the other day and was dismayed to find that the shrinkwrap had been cut away from the top of the box. It had been opened. I tried emailing the guy asking for a small refund due to the fact that the game was listed as new, but was in fact opened.

here's a copy of the emails so far.

Received the package today. Thanks for the decent packaging.

I do have one complaint though.

Lucienne's Quest which you stated as new, isn't.

The shrinkwrap was cut around the top of the box, making the game "opened", and not new. I bid as high as I did because i thought I was getting a new copy. Would you be willing to offer a small refund? I'm not looking for much, I'm not trying to be a jerk.

let me know your thoughts on how this can be worked out.

    thanks,

The game is new as that is how it was sold to me, and I never played it. I forgot to mention the shrink-wrap had been opened, but the game is new. I also sold a new Theme Park game in my other auction, and the shrink-wrap was open on it too. Were there any scratches, bends, marks or anything on the disc, instructions, inserts? Does it look like a used game?

    Let me know.

    Thanks,

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

yes it looks like a used game. It has been opened, and therefore is no longer in the condition that is considered new.

I didn't say it is in bad condition, all I said was that it wasn't new. By your criteria, i could state that 98% of my presonal collection is still "new". You know as well as I do that a rare game that is still new is worth considerably more than an opened one. Whether you forgot to mention that the game was opened was intentional or not, I can guarentee that the auction went for more than it would have if you did mention it.

that's all I'm saying. I was told that I was getting a new game. That implies it is still sealed. It wasn't.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know EB sells opened stuff as new all the time, that's why I never buy new stuff from them.

What are your thoughts? Am I being a jerk and an opened game still be considered new? Or do you think I'm right?

  4. So I'd say (and  two months ago, i never thought I'd ever being saying it) go with a DS.

    I knew you'd be saying it. ;)

(Fickle is as fickle does...) :D

Well, I can't deny I'm pretty fickle when it comes to games, but this really has nothing to do with that. If I was given the choice of one or the other for the rest of my life, I'd go with PSP. It's just at this point in time, there aren't enough decent releases for it. that could (hopefully) change in the next eight months. Besides, now that they've cracked the US firmware through a swaploit, the PSP will be seeing a hell of a lot more use. To quote someone from another board, widescreen NES=sex.

  5. AT this point, I fool around with my PSP more; but even though I got it at launch, it still has that"newness" feeling to it.

However, I pretty much burned out all the games I wanted to play on it (which were Need for Speed, Ridge Racer, Untold Legends, Twisted Metal and Lumines).

I recently bought a 1 gig pro duo card, and have had fun ripping movies and magazines to it.

However, looking down the road, I see the DS getting more play. Between Castlevania, Animal Crossing, and Advance Wars there are some pretty sweet games coming for it that I actually want to play.

The PSP? Not so much. Midnight Club 3 looks hot, but do I really need another racing game? No. (at least not until Burnout arrives...)

I have no interest in GTA, Coded arms, or any other of the upcoming games, except for maybe Virtua Tennis, Infected, and the aforementioned Burnout.

So I'd say (and two months ago, i never thought I'd ever being saying it) go with a DS.

  6. I bought one a few years ago for my then four year old daughter.

She thought it was fun, though her older siblings fooled around with it more than she did. It is a nice little system. Apparently it did really well in japan and was still seeing software released for it until relatively recently.

    I'd also second the recommendation.

  7. that article showed me june 2000 will, december 2000 will not, that kinda supports what I mentioned earlier.

edit:never mind, i read further down the page. However; it shows that at one time, it was thought that newer models wouldn't work. Since i've no interest in DC emulation or burning games, I apologize for working off of four and a half year old knowledge.

  8. cannon fodder was seen as most people as being excruciatingly difficult.

Missle Command 3D was meh at best.

Rayman I guess would fit as "ok", some people find it kind of annnoying (me included, the control should have been a lot tighter).

Zool 2 is a nice example of euro programing (style over substance and playability)

Wolfenstien was a good game. My bad.

Games like Syndicate were made for computers, and suffer when consolized.

So, for the most part, I stick to my original post.

    865977

Well that's fine but that has nothing to do with what I think about those games and I gave my personal recommendations.

    866562

That's fine, but you said you didn't agree with me, so I pointed out why I felt the way I did about the games you chose to list.

I'm not telling you not to like them, I'm just saying historically, more people than not haven't found them to be shining examples of great gameplay.

  9. I never played it much, simply because I thought it was so aweful in every aspect that I could hardly imagine a bigger waste of time than playing that game. And when you have other games to play, why play something bad?

    Regards, Lars.

my feelings exactly, but apparently that theory doesn't hold true when taking jaguar games into consideration.

  10. solitaire.

In all fairness, lights out and henry were ok, but pretty much anything with any hint of motion was pretty unfun due to the incredible bluriness of the screen. 98% of the games should of listed chopiness and poor control as features on the back of their boxes.

This place will never cease to amaze me. How can something that could be a lot better still not be bad?

  11. My best 3DO recommendation isn't a game, but a peripheral.  You MUST have a 3D Zero controller convertor.  I purchased one from another member of this forum for twenty five cents, and frankly, I can't think of a better way to spend a quarter.  The convertor and a Super Advantage joystick completely transforms the Super Street Fighter II Turbo experience... you'll never want to play the game without it.  It can't do anything to save Way of the Warrior, though... its problems go well beyond the controller you use to play it.

ha ha I just pm'ed Steve to see if he could get any more. I've got a Performance gamepad 6 that i find works pretty well with SSF2T. A Stick would be a better setup though.

I've been sitting on a sealed copy of Star Control 2 for about a year. I've yet to come across any used copies, and I can't bring myself to open this one up. What a loser.

  12. I use to have Yakyuken Special for 3DO. I sold it on the Ebay, and picked up the Saturn version instead. Features more women, and more importantly GAME SHARK CODES!!!111!..

Recently got back into 3DO again. After owning countless versions of the consoles since 1996, I finally got a Game Guru. Rock!

  13. Snes Raiden was much easier than jag Raiden.

Raiden Trad was one of the first SNES games released (and one of the first i bought).

Was very upset that the game I just bought for $60 was one credited first time through.

Next game I bought was Turtles in Time. Same dilemma.

    Started renting more after that.

  14. Are you playing the original Ridge Racer, or the bonus that came with R4?

It came with a bonus disc which was a remade Ridge Racer which ran at 60 fps and looked a hell of a lot better than the original version.

Story I heard was that namco was determined to have R4 run at 60, but there was just too much going on graphically to make i happen, so instead they remade the original.
