I could name a zillion unreleased games that were announced, but I'm not aware of too many "finished" games that didn't see release, aside from Half Life and the afore mentioned Propeller Arena.

ha ha I just pm'ed Steve to see if he could get any more. I've got a Performance gamepad 6 that i find works pretty well with SSF2T. A Stick would be a better setup though. I've been sitting on a sealed copy of Star Control 2 for about a year. I've yet to come across any used copies, and I can't bring myself to open this one up. What a loser.

I use to have Yakyuken Special for 3DO. I sold it on the Ebay, and picked up the Saturn version instead. Features more women, and more importantly GAME SHARK CODES!!!111!.. Recently got back into 3DO again. After owning countless versions of the consoles since 1996, I finally got a Game Guru. Rock!

actually, if you just buy the system, you've already got the best game made for it bundled.

Snes Raiden was much easier than jag Raiden. Raiden Trad was one of the first SNES games released (and one of the first i bought). Was very upset that the game I just bought for $60 was one credited first time through. Next game I bought was Turtles in Time. Same dilemma. Started renting more after that.

PSX - Ridge Racer -> RR4 ...wow...
jesusc replied to Lost Monkey's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Are you playing the original Ridge Racer, or the bonus that came with R4? It came with a bonus disc which was a remade Ridge Racer which ran at 60 fps and looked a hell of a lot better than the original version. Story I heard was that namco was determined to have R4 run at 60, but there was just too much going on graphically to make i happen, so instead they remade the original. -
Oh, my aching back. Just got an XBOX. Game Advice?
jesusc replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Modern Console Discussion
being the cheap bastard that you are, why not take one of the free live trial cards and try it out...now that you've finally joined the 21st century and got broadband.... Also, knowing what a platforming whore you are, check out Voodoo Vince. It has Dave Halverson's seal of approval (then again, so did Cybermorph). -
I'd have to agree. You can argue morals all day long, but when it comes down to it, when I pay johnny mcbuspass $20 for a ten year old game, the original developer doesn't get a cut of it, so what difference does it make?

cannon fodder was seen as most people as being excruciatingly difficult. Missle Command 3D was meh at best. Rayman I guess would fit as "ok", some people find it kind of annnoying (me included, the control should have been a lot tighter). Zool 2 is a nice example of euro programing (style over substance and playability) Wolfenstien was a good game. My bad. Games like Syndicate were made for computers, and suffer when consolized. So, for the most part, I stick to my original post.

What would you like to see/expect on the X360?
jesusc replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Modern Console Discussion
screw tempest 4000 (you can't go home again people). Lets see Unity resurface. -

I forgot about Armed and Dangerous. Great game by planet moon that no one bought. Not enough hookers in it I guess. House of the Dead is not cack, unless cack is good. Even if you don't like it, at least it also has HotD 2 as well as an unlockable. I will say this though, it probably stands as the only gun game that plays better with a controller than with a gun. -
yup, over two years later, and the game is still crap.

After a sorta frustrating day (if anyone finds a wallet, it's mine), I decided to do something I haven't done in about two years. Use my extiva for something other than watching movies! I popped Tempest 3000 in, and reminded myself why I like Tempest 2000 better. then my son and I kicked out Merlin racing (I really should pick up some logitech controls, I have two HPI warriors) for a little while. Very fun game. Now as I go to bed, I have found stoner heaven (though I'm drug free). That would be Radiohead+VLM. Tomorrow I'll probably tackle Freefall again. Never had the attention span for learning the controls before, but I'm older now so who knows? (eyes Iron Soldier 3). Anyone else (other than K3V) still messing around with the Nuon?

What's the buzz about Earthbound for Snes?
jesusc replied to guitarmas's topic in Classic Console Discussion
back to the topic, Earthbound was great for a few reasons. 1) Didn't use cliched setting. It was modern day, not medieval or futuristic 2) very humorous 3) DIDN"T INCLUDE RANDOM ENCOUNTERS!!! this was a great feature not seen too much back when it was released, and still not seen enough in todays RPGs 4) the way you encountered enemies had an effect on the battle. If you caught them from behind, you got first strike, the same when for the enemies. 5)if you encountered something you vastly overpowered, it just disappeared, no stupid battle. Again, something modern RPGs could use more of 6) you could choose the name of you favorite food and thing. I, of course used some vulgarities to my own amusement. Nothing like your mother telling you to go eat some p***y and get some rest. 7) Not a heck of a lot of backtracking. just like real life, the father isn't in the picture, and only the only interaction with him is by phone. Yes, the graphics for the most part probably could have been done on a NES, but this was a great game damnit. Give it some respect. -
prepare to have your hopes dashed if the first game you get isn't Tempest 2000. Not great, but ok games include Defender 2000, Rayman, Iron soldier, Power Drive Rally, Raiden, and Doom. Everything else will make you cry.

Oh, my aching back. Just got an XBOX. Game Advice?
jesusc replied to Rhindle The Red's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I recommend selling it back to the guy you bought it from. You caught him in a moment of weakness. As stated previously, Pirates Legend of Black Cat is grrrrreat. Pick up both Otogi's. Gunvalkyrie (though, you may not like it, once the weird controls are picked up, the game is gravy.) Panzer Dragoon Orta. Burnout 3. It's the racing game for even people who don't like reacing games. Kingdom Under Fire. great mix of strategy and action Metal Slug 3. c'mon. Fable. Didn't deliver on half of what was promised, but still fun. Grabbed by the Ghoulies. just to see how far the once mighty have fallen. -
sell it off, then buy it all back again, sell it off, buy it all back again. The fun is in the hunt, not the owning. To me anyway.
-
okay, I didn't intend to insult you, how about $251?
-
so...would ya take $250 for your collection?
-
you're right, that was someone else, with a name very close to yours. However, I disagree about Sonic. The depth is there if you want to look for it, but the game design doesn't force you to look for it. I'd also disagree about those aspects of the game being wasted space, but to each their own i suppose.

Psycho Fox was a great game. Unfortunately it came out too late in the SMS lifespan to make a difference. i used to spend hours sending that little bird all over the screen trying to find hidden warps.

How long has your Jaguar passion run? How far has it to go?
jesusc replied to justclaws's topic in Atari Jaguar
I don't believe this news. CDi yeah, i agree with that, 32X would be a very close tie, 3DO owns jaguar. read this as flame bait if need be, but I'd be willing to make a comparison chart proving what I say. -
it's kind of an inside joke.
-
I'm pretty sure Sony bought Psygnosis, not EA.

Have you played any Sonic game for more than five minutes? From this statement, I don't think you have. Sure, you can zip right through a level, but if you do, you are not a true gamer. Each level has tons of hidden areas and secrets that one would really have to explore to find. there is a lot of depth to these games.
