Well, a station that I started 6 years ago (106.5 The Promise .. contemp. Christian music) was bought by a big company here in the market (Cox Radio) ... They ended up letting a small local station pick up the format... so now they are 88.1 The Promise.. not as good a signal, but still on the dial.... GLAD TO SEE MY "BABY" didnt get BLOWN OFF THE DIAL... What will COX put on 106.5??? anybodies guess right now... They're running a teaser saying it could be latin, or dance, or country... ect.. about 10 ideas... MY GUESS??? I think they will take their AM talk and go FM... we'll see..... Cox also has an 80s station that hasnt been a money maker like that had thought, so they may flip that too... I think they will go Urban... R & B... but time will tell... According to the recording on 106.5, Thursday morning the new format will launch.... IT'S EXCITING TO GUESS, I've had clients ask me whats going on and they speculate... It's like a mystery.... It gets clients and listeners talking, and thats good for radio in general. Once it flips then it's time to figure out what the new format will mean in terms of competition in the market... MEANWHILE... My boss is upto something.. I think Oldies station I sell for is gonna flip.... IF SO, I'll post it here... Depending on what they do, will effect my income, and ultimately if I can stay where I live or if I have to eventually move to a better market... Wow, THURSDAY can be a HUGE day for me... TUNE IN AND FIND OUT... LOL SI

WOW... i have just about all the same... something about some movies .. you never get tired of watching them (even poor quality copies)... Back to the Future, Indian Jones.. and of course StarWars... I have old bootleg copies... HBO copies... old network TV copies.. with funny old commercials.. and the "real" copy on VHS... then DVD.. the special box editions... wow, the thought of all the money I spent... LOL... but your right... you could watch them over and over... great idea... I'm heading to the kitchen to make some popcorn!!! SI PS... another movie I could watch over and over and had a horrible "bootleg" copy of and now VHS & DVD, Raising Arizona ... N. Cage & H Hunter... funny movie... might have to bust that one out too!

There are talks at work about BIG Changes.... I sell radio ads... fun and often frustrating all at the same time... I work for an oldies station (60s & 70s Hits... Funny that is now considered oldies).. anyway... the station holds it's own.. but isnt making money.. and you know it's all about making a profit.... so.. there has been some behind the scene talks.. No one will say but I think they are going to "flip" the station to another format... This could be bad at first.. but maybe good in the long run.... After 6 months of working for this company and FINALLY getting some stable accounts... I may loose due to the change.... and then start over... ON THE OTHER HAND... if this is a great format with the right DJs it could sell like hot cakes... (who buys those by the way???) There have been 4 stations in the market that have been sold to different companies... and there is talk of 2 flipping... hm.... The company that flips first stands to take the biggest advantage of the change.. rumour on the street is they are flipping tomorrow.... I dont know if thats true... Lots of advertisers and agencies are talking about it.. what will it mean?? Time will tell.. but i think I'll have to say "Good bye" to the Oldies... Updates as I get them.... SI

Love it.. what a great day... Does anyone get to have more fun in life then you??? LOL So glad that you take time in the daily grind of life.. and find the moments that make it worth living... Not surprised that your son is begging to go back again... Your post reminded me of the roller rink that was near my house as a kid... It has long since been torn down... but the memories of it will always live on.... I remember finally getting up the nerve to ask a boy to "couples skate".... He quickly told me no.... lol... maybe he was afraid he'd fall and hurt his arm?? LOL... great post.. let us know how the pads help the next outing.. SI

Everything in life would be better with a theme song.... Don't ya think??? I've decided to add a sound track to my life this weekend... Here's what I've got so far... Like this weekend it could be Jimmy Buffett's "Headin up to San Fransico for the Labor Day weekend show... I got my hush puppies on, I guess I never was made for glitter rock and roll......... " Friday night theme could have been some pacman sound effects.... I played some video games Saturday could have been JAWS.... DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN...... Here's how it went... I got up at the crack of dawn to watch the sun rise on the beach.... I found a beach that is deserted most of the time... So, it was quiet and void of humans... It was so great... what a fantastic morning.... Layed out and ate my breakfast while watching all the colors in the sky..... My middle daughter was with me... we decided to go swimming... SO FAR NO THEME MUSIC...... UNTIL...... We head for the water... I love to swim in the ocean.... We went way out past the breakers... somthing hit my hand... like a small fish.. it always starts the theme from JAWS playing in my head... but, I go in the water all the time... so no big deal..... I try NOT to hear theme music.... I keep swimming.. and BAM... something hits my leg.. and brushes past me... wow.. it felt BIG..... I grabbed my daughters arm and said... LETS SWIM IN... I got freaked out.. I swear I hear the JAWS THEME!!!!! Safely back at shore, we sat in the sand for a while.. and then went back in..... (DUN DUN DUN DUN DUN.... that should have been a warning right????) Wow, now that the sun was full on, you could see tons of large fish.. Most were about 18 inches long.... Dont know what type they were... but... wow, wish i had a fishing pole... You know what eats fish right???? And there are small sharks and rays at that beach.... So.. that was the end of swimming for the day.... and thankfully the JAWS theme music ended... Saturday afternoon was so lazy.... I cooked shepards pie, (if you never tried it.. you should... ) and pretended I was on the FOOD CHANNEL.... (Theme music, something french?? Italian....??? Hmmm....) Saturday night theme music???? FREDDY OR THE AXE MURDER THEME... I watched Forensic files and Cold Case Files for hours.. and finished the day with the movie.. "The Green River Killer"... Okay.. yeah I slept with the night light on... LOL... Sunday, was such a lazy day.... I think some 70's Chicago 8-track could have been perfect background music... (Think.. Does anyone really know what time it is... ?? ) Did stuff around the house... and watched a bizzare movie... Don't know the name.. just found it flipping channels... what a waste of time... MONDAY... well here I am... recapping and looking forward to a sunny BBQ day.... I havent picked my theme music yet.... wait.....??? Is that the space Invader theme I hear... yes... in the distance.. I hear marching........ and rapid fire..... OH GOSH... IT'S AN ATARI DAY!!!!! Wow, I love holidays!!!! See ya... SI

HELLO ALL... Yes, I've been gone from the site for a couple months... SO LET ME CATCH UP TO DATE... The new job has taken alot of my time and focus.. Looks like we are in for some major changes... could mean a big win for me financially.. that would be a huge blessing ... Time will tell what direction the company is taking... I have of course been trying to do some fun stuff in my free time... Went to the beach a few times ... My 2 oldest daughters moved out last year (one stayed local the other moved to NY) The one in NY came for a visit.. and is now staying with me for awhile... Glad she's here... She helped me set up a "mailing center" for all my ebay stuff.... ORGANIZATION is something I'm really good at.. but horrible at keeping up with... Seems I can set stuff up .. but not keep up with it... ESPECIALLY PAPER!!! URGH... Between work and home and ebay .. there is so much mail... and paper ... and piles of junk mail.... So, I've been really focusing on cleaning out and clearing out... Even been trying to clear out my "jungle" and cut back some of the trees and brush growing all over my place... The groves are a never ending cycle of yard work... I have a ton of new games... bought some 6's & 7's ... and cant seem to find the time to clean and test them all.... and then list the ones I want to sell.... I got a great deal on a PS2 with 30+ games, with controler and memory card.... $85 with shipping.... I resold most of the games... my 14 year old daughter didnt like some... I made my money back on the items.. so basically I got a PS2 with bonus goodies for FREE... not bad... my daughter was happy.. she spent the summer DDR-ing... and I just took lots of Motrin for my headache... LOL IN SAD NEWS... I had to put my cat Luigi to sleep... It was a hard thing to do.. but I didnt want him to sufer needlessly... it was really hard... after 16 years.. he and I were friends... partners of sorts... a constant in my life.. he was there everyday.. wanting nothing but just to be loved and I'm gonna miss him... In an odd turn of events... a lady at the vets office handed me a persian kitten and said.. you're saying goodbye to a friend today.. here's a new one to help you through.... so... I ended up taking her home... The lady had registered persians that she was selling for $500 bucks each... but this one she thought was a mixed breed.. and couldnt sell as papered.. (mama kitty got out of the house.. )... So I said goodbye to Luigi.. and now have Luisa.... LOL.. She is darling.. and has added sunshine to the rain... SPEAKING OF RAIN... I guess everyone has seen Ernesto is out in the Atlantic heading toward Florida... I only hope it pours long enough to fill my pond and make my boss give us all the day off... I am sure we will be safe.. it's just with all my old trees and such a huge yard on the water.. there is always preperation to be done... It will make a mess and there will be limbs and leaves to clean up after the storm passes... WELL... there ya have it.. nothing earth shattering... Just everyday life stuff... See... Yeah and worst then the heat is the dang BUGS!!!! My property is like a jungle... all the critters are thriving!!! I had a huge fuzzy spider greet me the other morning... GROSS... It was HUGE!! I hate to kill them cause they eat the mosquitos.. but this one was just TOO SPOOKY.... There was a brown recluse in my bed last fall... YIKES.. I have had the pest control company out here twice since them... and still spiders and more spiders.... With all the dang bats and other critters out here I thought they would eat the spiders.. but no.. just the fruit in my groves... LOL.... UGH!! I'm itchy just thinking about it..

Well I know it's been a while since I updated my blog... I've been soooo... busy.. work has kept me hopping.. The cool thing is.. inbetween, I've actually had a couple days to do absolutely NOTHING... it was wonderful and I enjoyed the solitude... I got in a bunch of games and am going to be listing them on ebay.. probably keep a couple for myself... always adding to my collection.... It's gotten so hot... and of course here in Florida it's now officially hurricane season... they are projecting it to be another active season.... I was without power for a week and no water for 4 days last year... we didnt get it as bad as some areas... Just enough to cause damage and make everyone miss work and be stuck indoors with no water or air.. and nothing to do... YOU CANT PLAY ATARI WITH NO POWER... and the generator should be used for "important" things.. LOL... Sooo.. I'm hoping this year we wont get hit... I guess we will all have to wait and see.. Okay so I followed the above link.. and wanted to clarify somethings... here is the post from the above mentioned link... I "BOLDED" the parts I commented on and put my notes in BLUE Okay dokay... so great stuff above... and again.. I am asking.... Is it possible to team up with a programmer... or do I need to go to school earn a degree... work for pennies... hee heee.. and then get going on a project?... If so.. hey I'm willing to work hard, to learn, and to bring unique ideas and energy to any project.... I guess I'm looking for a mentor type... Don't be too quick to rule a girl out... this could be ground breaking.. cutting edge.. you might just want to consider being part of this venture... LOL Much thanks for your post.. it was helpful... Okay.. so I guess most of you that read this.. realize.. I love Atari, enjoy collecting and selling carts... BUT.. do not have the first clue about writing a game or programing ... Although that doenst mean I dont have an interest in learning... My question is this... If I have ideas for games... what do I do first??? Is it best to team up with an expert who writes games and just lend the ideas?? OR>>>>> Is it something that I could learn and actually get good at .. over time??? I'm open to suggestions ... it's an option.. but i have no clue where to start... I tried to reinstall windows.. but the version i have is older then the version on the PC... it came loaded... so it wouldnt let me over ride it.. and i was afraid to delete windows completely and then not be able to load the other windows that i have.. i'm really frustrated and cant afford to pay someone to do this for me.. I just started a job and am trying to catch up on late bills and make current ends meet..

i'm tired and cranky and have tried multiple things to remove this bugger... HELP ANYONE I posted my filelogs on bleepingcomputer.com and had advise ... ran the programs and followed the directions... and still that dang bug has free roam of my PC.... Thaks for the posts everyone... Hope everyone had a great Easter... I had all three of my daughters for the day.. rare now that the oldest two are in college and live on their own... so it was a really nice time to have them all sleeping under one roof for the weekend.... They played video games half the time.. and stayed up late, laughing and eatting junk food... As for the weather, this weekend turned out to be beautiful.... Although it was funny hearing people saying it was "chilly at the beach at night"... it was in the mid 60's and breezy and people were in jeans and light sweaters... LOL.. Got to love Floirida... I loved it.. but it was a bit windy... It was in the low to mid 80's during the day and made for a nice egg hunt Sunday afternoon (plastic eggs filled with coins instead of candy, they'd melt otherwise.. hee hee).... Last weekend it was in the low 90's and it was already too hot.... Summer isnt even here yet... but signs of it are everywhere... including the dry grass.... I dont care for the summer.... I prefer the autumn... The summer here is hot... I dread wearing my business suit and getting in and out of the car on sales calls all day.. it's so dang hot & humid you feel like your melting ... people all walk around complaining... "it's not the heat, it's the humidity!") Then every afternoon it POURS and we have huge thunderstorms... for about an hour... just long enough to mess with the traffic and the kids getting out of school.... I'm not complaining too much.... it's the price you pay to live in sunny florida... but I much prefer the cooler times of year.... I'd love a snowy get-away... actually, today I'd welcome ANY get-away.... wish I had days off to take... oh well,.... enough complaining and wishing.... better get back to work... Have a great week! CONGRATS!! I'm in radio. I moved 300 miles last fall to take a new job... uprooting my 3 daughters. 1 was in college and had to switch school causing some problems with a few credits and her part time job... The second was just starting college and had picked a local school she was to attend. Once we moved she still hasnt gotten in school yet... (supposed to soon, even got a job on campus)... The third is in middle school and had to make all new friends something 13 year olds hate.. peer preasure and all that... ANYWAY.. I uprooted our life to take this "great" job.. and 3 months into it I could tell the company was in trouble... the week of Christmas they let me go...... 40% of the staff was let go... As a single income family, I was concerned.. but confident that things happen for a reason. Long story short, the doors opened for me at another radio station, the pay isnt 100% what I had but the strength of the company, and the growth potential are there... I work on commission so it will build in time. The work is fun, the people are great. I am so much happier then I was at the other job. I truly believe in divine intervention, and this job to me was a God send... COOL ABOUT YOU FINDING A JOB... Sorry you'll have to leave your current team, but see this as an adventure... HEY, maybe it's an idea for your mini game.... A job related game where you can get FIRED!!!! LOL.... Much luck on your ventures! SI

Yeah, I love my new job... I do hate the drive each day.. but, in outside sales... driving is almost an ALL day event somedays.... so, it comes with the territory... The other day I said to a friend... I need to get some shirts without old station logos... i have several Jackets, hats, paperclip holders & misc. office supplies, coffee mugs, water bottles, cup holders, clocks, calendars, keychains .... etc, all with station logos... My favorite old station trophy is a "stress boob".... they were from an alter. rock station I worked at... you know those spongy stress balls.. well we had them made into breasts... LOL.. I kid you not... they created quit a stir at events... and became a rare item... even the staff had to lock their up at night.. the cleaning crew stole them off their desks...LOL... It's my favorite station logo item cause it's differnt.. and it was such a wanted item.. just to know I have one makes the collector in me happy... LOL.... Maybe I should take a photo and post it on here... I bet it would get some laughs... LOL.... Have a good one.. SI

Ahhh... have been having a great time back in radio... I forgot all the fun radio perks... I have a blue crab festival coming up that I "have" to attend... I was handed Cirques De Solie tickets last week.. What a cool show... wild actually... Tomorrow we have a "manditory" meeting at the Jacksonville Suns Baseball game... My boss is buying the food and BEER!!! Could work get anymore fun then that????? Ahhhhh I do love radio!!! With all these events I hope I can find time to play a game or two...
