are there more carts avail? Are we talking about the jaguar version?
Or the Genesis and SNES version.
Yes, there are much more of all carts.
jag.

This attempt at desperate "protectionism" says a lot about how far gone the Jag platform is. Multicarts are a fact of life. You're all going to have to accept it whether you like it or not and let the consequences be as they may.Frankly, if people spent half as much of their effort at writing games for the Jag than they do arguing in forums like this, maybe it wouldn't have gotten to this point.
....We just want to get our moeny back from them. We sell games in a game package, not for download. It costs me money. I have to reflect that cost on the customer when he buys these. I want to be sure I get
back what I put into, and quite frankly I have every right to do what I see fit to
protect. Mutlicarts may be your way of life, but they aren't ours. I dont own a
single such cart...
it's not that i disagree with you gorf about your post above. but it's your attitude and the way you come across that turns many customers off. do what you need to do and release it the way you want. you get in these unecessary ellaborate posts that your energy could be spent elsewhere positive.

Really tough to narrow it to 5 buthere they are in no particular order:
Battlezone
Star Wars TAG
Donkey Kong
Mr. Cool
Castle Crisis
does anyone know where the donkey kong cart is avail?

I don't know if Lynx market is smaller than Jaguar one. I have no idea of sales on both systems, but I have the impression that Jaguar forums are more actives, with many more subjects, and many more members participating. Even if my impression is also that number of Lynx releases and news are bigger
@phuzaxeman : thanks for the kind words on space incident, this is appreciated

keep up the great work. thanks for allowing us to play it for free on the lynx emulator. if i can get my hands on the lynx cart of space incident, i'll buy it.
also, let me know if you need any music for future games. i'll be happy to do a soundtrack for free. check out my latest album (producer and songwriter), transitions (www.myspace.com/julin).

And you say I over dramatize?
You completely skipped over my point to take a poke at remowilliams.
On every other system out there, both emulators and RAM-load carts have been welcomed eagerly by developers and fans. 2600, 5200, 7800, Vectrex, Colecovision, Intellivision, ... the list goes on and on. And yet on these same systems, we see a blossoming of new development. We're seeing more and more homebrews coming out, despite the availability of so-called 'pirating' options.
The Jaguar is the only system out there where anyone claims that such options will hinder development by hobbyists. Can you think of just one other system where that has been the case - even one? I can not.
People need to stop drinking the Jaguar Kool-Aid.
right? alpine games is a perfect example of a homebrew that's even better than most games that were released for the lynx. the other thing to is nobody is complaining about the price either. moreover, both development company and consumer are pretty satisfied.
Nobody complained in the Lynx community. Nobody pirated the game, and pirating on Lynx is easy (burning roms, emulators, etc etc.). Duranik is happy with sales. Talk about paranoia on Jaguar side, uh ?
alpine games is amazing. Duranik is amazing. he just puts out a hit on the lynx and everyone buys it. i personally think AG on the lynx is better than battlesphere is on the jag although both are great games and I own both.
case in point, the space incident is another lynx hit. it is available on handy rom yet the few that were available sold out like hot cakes. when someone releases it on cart, it will still sell like crazy and people on both development side and consumer side will be both happy.
jag cf is a great idea to a crippled jaguar. actually anything released is a godsend for the jag. anyone against it is against jag development. its sad to see so much schism among developers let alone jag fans.

all in all , his reviews are good. i was just pointing out a few games. yes, reviews are all subjective.
-
in no particular order 4 me:
space dungeon - this game is the reason to own the 5200
centipede - w/trackball this version during the 80's was amazing. sounds, controll, gameplay, excellent
baseball - easily one of (if not) the best sports baseball game of that era
gremlins - another gem and reason to own a 5200. graphics, sound, gameplay, mint!
countermeasure - an original masterpiece. i love this game. when you think about, there wasn't anything like it when it released.
what about u?
-
and what's the deal with giving dreadnaught factor a poor rating? not even close. this a game that i feel is great too!
-
I couldn't get my 5200 controllers to work with this game (or is is vice-versa?). It's totally unplayable for me. I can sympathize with VGC's frustration on this one.His reviews for Spacemaster X-7 and F-Zero...

i guess defect controllers would kill the whole thing...
Even if you get the Best Electronics gold kit for the controllers, you still can't play at least 50% of the 5200 library. They are OK for Robotron or Space Dungeon though.
maybe for you. many still have no problem with controllers that work well.

i actually like the 5200 version. the music is way cool and i think the analog controller works well. but the video game critic gives it an "F." i think the review is a bit unfair and a complaint from a person that doesn't know how to use the 5200 controllers.
http://www.videogamecritic.net/ look up 5200 and gyruss...
-
Check out the latest reviews by the video game critic. I agree that Highlander sucks, but for him to say that the CD is a farce, is a little much. And to say this is the game that Jag fans don't want you to see??? I think we have enough of those already. A total uselsess slam on the CD.it is harsh but his reviews are somewhat truthful. almost half of the reviews on the jag are D and F grades. while i think the jag has a lot of shitty games, that's alot to mark such low scores. he gives syndicate a D- and then skiing D+ but then gives trevor a C? something is a little off. i'd give syndicate at least C+ or B-, skiing a B, and trevor an F.

yeah...this game is fun on the handy. lynx has such a great market afterlife. keep in rolling....i'll be in for the orders when ready.

yes. lets get back on topic.Don't shoot your mouth off and steeer it off topic in the first place.
The balls of some people, I tell ya.
yeah i have balls....not everyone agreees with you and believes you're the bible on the jag. maybe you should grow some. :-)

i rest my case. people state an opinion (which you accuse who are trolls) about something and you just shoot people down personally. great job. don't believe me? read the thread of what people have been saying. You rest your case? You never had a case and I ask again to show me where I put down ANYONE's opinion
You are following me around looking for an excuse to be a jerk. Is that your case? That you cant help but
piss on others experiences.
hypocrite? look in the mirror gorf. your claim that you've done so much for the jag community yet your personal attacks and sarcasm toward others that have different ideas than yours is hypocrisy at its best. pathetic.Show me where I personally attacked anyone for an idea that did not attack me first...Just ONE example please.
Oh and go look up the definition of 'hypocrite', hypocrite.
gorf says, "i bet i've done more than you ever will for the Jaguar community."Yes I have.....more than YOU will ever do.
off course, how could iBecause I know Im right here....Please show me one thing you have done other
than pick uneccessary fights with me? I've done more in ONE day for the Jag
than a troll like you will ever do in his life time.
or anyoneThis is your own idea and not the truth beacsue you cant be told reality, especially when it does
not match your fantasy. In that other thread everyone else saw that you were the being the
trouble maker.
There are those in this community who DO do plenty and eevn more than me so
stop putting words in my mouth so you stop looking like a fool because it wont
help. You still look like a fool. I do more for this commmunity than you ever COULD
never mind would.
do more than you.No just mcuh more than anything YOU, (dont drag others into this like a liar)
will ever do for this community.
sorry man, i'm just a normal fan of the jag and enjoy some of the games.I'll never have your jag knowledge and programming skills.
Yet you come here and try to tell me, a guy with over 12 years of coding experience
on the Jaguar alone.
and btw, my "skill level in recording?" what does that have to do with this thread? It has EVERYTHING to do with the way you piss on my experience as a Jaguar coder.
You since day one have acted like you have a million years of coding knowledge over
me and no matter what links of evidence I showed you, im was treated by you like a
coding novice. So I bring up the possibiliyt of some one doing the same thing to you
via your recording experience. Every here of similar yet unrelated situations?
I know your not too bright or you would see the obvious relation here.
once again you go off tangent. It is you who went off on a tangent to attack me unfounded becaseu you obviously
are the one who thinks he is smarter than everyone else. Especially someone with
more Jaguar experience than you.
stick to the thread.Practice what you preach, hypocrite.
you wanna debate recording? send me a pm and save everyone the headache. i'd gladly listen to yourrecordings or whatever it is you want to say about the recording/music industry.
I dont want to debate anything with you. I do wnat you to stop causing un provoked trouble
with me in every thread you find a lame opportunity to do so. You accusations against me
are nothing but BS and lies. If they are not, evidence please.
..this is not about the recording industry but about a novice such as youeself telling an experienced
like my self he dont know what he is talking about. Pick WHATEVER industry. It's stil the height
of arrogance to do it and you have done it here manys time with me concerning my experience
with the Jaguar. Im trying to find out how you'd feel if someone did that to you with your
recording skills and experiences. My guess is you would not be to friendly about it at all.
You can have any opinion you want about the Jaguar but if you are not factual, I will correct you.
I started this thread to find out people's feeling about this subject so it isonly natural I will answer
a good deal of the posts. Why you complain abotu this is retarded. Usually the topic starter is the
most vocal, at least in my experiences. Yet...this is somehow an offense to you.
talk about someone who give page long responses and off topic even.
look how long you repost? is this really necessary? cmon. most of it personal attacks with your arrogance. you'd get a lot more done and actually complete another game or the spend more time with the rights for gorf if you didn't waste your time on these forums defending your self with these long a$$ reposts against me and the rest of many people on here. where did i read that there was a letter that said something along the lines that wished gorf would leave the jag community? i guess i'm not the only one here that sees your ways.
correct me? you aint never going to get midway or atari to support you (like i and many have told you)in regards to jaguar downloads. it doesnt take a coder like your pompous demeanor to figure out that there isn't a big enough market to even make a dent in those companies.
quit bringing up the recording industry in this thread and going off tangent. you bringing that topic up is proof you can't stay on topic. pathetic....
-
yes. lets get back on topic.

gorf says, "...Songbird is ridiculous in his prices and I've been saying that for a long time. If I wanted to profiti'd be following Carl's lead. Oh , this is not something I have not said to Carl directly..."
you know, at least songbird produces games that people want. unlike some other talk company, i was able to get a hold of alpine games and sky hammer. it was kinda high but hey, i like em and feel it's worth the price. it's nice to know there's some legit atari supporting software store.
He also did not have to make those games and was in the right time at the right place.
I m suer a lot of us would have liked that same opportunity but not everyone gets lucky
like that. All I am saying it they were way too high priced. If you dont' mind paying that
price than that is your choice.
You can shoot your vailed insults at our coding team if you want but we have to actually write
the games from scratch. Think about that for a while.
call him lucky, say he had great timing, and say his prices are "ridiculous" but he puts out great stuff. some people talk about releasing stuff but songbird is a legit business and is godsent for us jag and lynx fans.
-
gorf, people are seeing your true self on here. you have a negative response to every idea that's not aligned to yours.Ah you just love to find a way to take a shot dont you? all asked us to be civil BTW but i see you wont.
and while you make people think that you're doing a service to the jag community,I bet i've done more than you ever will for the Jaguar community.
you have cut so many people down with your sarcasm/personal attacks and have turned people away from playing the jag.And you have been the example of peace maker? You are such a hypocrite its hillarious.
You like this very response of yours are doing exactly this like you did in ever thread you
found me in. You start trouble over a tread about fantasy dream games and have the utter
nerve to post this nonsense? This is amazing.
this jag forum has become the most heated and spiteful forum among atari forums.Because the unexperienced like yourself think you can with arguing what you don't know
about convince every one you do know.
it's too bad people can't propose a view without getting back insults and full page responses.Like the way you haev done things? I say something can be done and you fight me tooth and nail,
not even having a stitch of experience...dont you see what an utter hypocrite you are being?
I propsed fantasy games....and you come in and post...'sorry in your dreams'...remember that?
Sound like what you are bitching about here? You really think you can fool people? Your hypocrisy
is amazing.
I see also how you wait to pile on when the rest of the trolls come along and spout BS they dont
even have the story straight on. That comes across rather cowardly. This is like me telling you
you suck at recording, even if you were to offer proof and reasonable argument, but I simply
denied it and kept telling you your are full of it, dont know what you are talking about and are
no help to the recording industry.
Think how that would feel...think how you would like that when asked an honest question and tried
to do nothing more than give an honest answer based on your experience. You just think about that
for a while. Then think about having a total novice with NO experience try telling you you're a fool
and you dont know what you aer talking about,EVEN THOUGH he doesn't have the fogiest clue himself.
I dont know your skill level at recording and frankly Im not even intersted, but I would show you a lot
better respect than the utter BS you've handed me since day one and becasue you dont like what I
have to say you pile on? You keep showing your smallness every time you respond.
i rest my case. people state an opinion (which you accuse who are trolls) about something and you just shoot people down personally. great job. don't believe me? read the thread of what people have been saying.

I agree about Songbird. Not only that, he provides great customer service. I bought a sealed Tempest 2000 cart that turned out dead and he replaced it with no questions asked for example. For all he knew, I was someone trying to rip him off to replace a dead Tempest cartridge.
This community could use a few more people like him, instead of criticizing him.
he does have great customer service. we need his services and not take it for granted.

I haven't played this game in a very long ttime - probably years. On the other hand, I do have the dual-stick holder, and it used to be my favorite 5200 game, so I logged untold hours practicing back in the early 80's.Tonight, I played the game ONCE. Only once. My score? 339,885. And I was ONE ROOM away from the Collect Bonus, had covered every room in the level, and had every single treasure on board! And I died, 115 points from an extra life!! The AGONY!
I took 9 pictures, trying to get a good shot of the screen. None of the pictures came out very well, but I've attached the one that shows the score the best.
Sorry phuzaxeman, but I felt the need to raise the bar a little!
339,885
no apolgies needed. we're not worthy!

Since I returned to Canada from Mexico three months ago, my Jaguar collection has sat in a couple of boxes. All the bickering and bitching has turned me off the Jaguar and caused me to renew interest in the Lynx. I'll probably get interested in the Jaguar once the JagCF issue is resolved - one way or another - but for now the Lynx holds my interest.amen 650.

i think i'll go rest my jag for awhile and pop in my 5200 adventure II cart and lynx alpine games...

you're the developer and seller of your own games. you mention about customer service somewhere...how about practicing what you preach and having a better attitude about your product (that is if you ever intend on releasing something).
u don't care if nobody on here buys your game? i don't believe that.
