  1. CX-78 jopypads (what you call "euro" pads) are avalible from Best Electronics for $15 bucks each brand new. Well worth it also. They are much better than prolines, My prolines where used as parts about a week afte rI got my first set of cx-78's. Shawn Sr. 1018547[/snapback] Sweet! But where is "Best Electronics" ??? I typed it into the URL and got nothing right now. I'd be greatful for a link if you or anyone else could provide one (assuming they're online).
  2. SILVER / Chromium here. But I'd rather have it in a translucent blue like one of the "Cool" PSX shells I used to have years ago.
  3. #1> Again thanks to everyone helping out in this thread. #2> Euro Pads eh? Now I guess my question would be how difficult is it to find those? I've never seen any (as of late) up on Ebay neither separately or with a system bundle. #3> Well it's good to know that the ProLine Joysticks are at least built like a tank. I think with what I know now I can safely go ahead and find me a 7800 ProSystem and join in the fun I never got to partake in back in the day.
  4. First off I'd like to thank you for your reply. I'll try what you suggested. After giving it some thought if that doesn't work, I'm going to contact the guy who modded it for me, maybe he knows about it. I don't believe it's the Mod works as it's excellent though, I'm just wondering if I did something (can't see how I treat all my systems like babies) wrong by letting that buzzing sound go on and on until after the Bios screen. Well I only know of the one guy who I bought the pre modded Super ColecoVision off of on Ebay (well the wife did anyhow)... guy named Double_Down_On_11. He has a website called Viking Video Games. I'm thinking about checking with him if he would do a 7800 mod for me in the future actually. Hope that helps.
  5. Well thank you both for answering my question. It's also good to know that Snoopy & The Red Baron shouldn't have any problems on the 7800, as that and Crystal Castles will more than likely be the two 2600 games I will play the most often once I get me a Pro System. Two more questions concerning the 7800 if I may though... 01> How durable are the 7800 Joysticks? Do they last or are they prone to break easily? 02> What is that other odd looking (though more conventional looking) game pad I often see with the 7800 instead of the joysticks? (see pic below). Are these kinds of controllers rare or something because I always only see the bulkier joysticks with system.
  6. Alright I've got me what I call a Super ColecoVision, meaning it's got the AV output mod and a Bios Override program that lets me skip that opening start up screen with the press of a button and get right to the gaming. The wife bought it as a Christmas gift in 2004 since it was one of the few systems I didn't get as a child but wanted. I figured having the ability to hook it up via audio/video versus cable was better anyhow. Well flashforward to a night ago. I mostly play Mr.Do! on the system and after a gaming marathon for about 2 hours I turned off the Coleco. A few hours later I went to power it up and I get this hideous buzzing sound. So I unslotted it and re-slotted it and re powered it up. Where I didn't have any problems before... suddenly the screen's blue and more noise. So I tried Smurfs and Lady Bug and a few other games. No problem. AGAIN I returned to power up Mr. Do! as well as Donkey Kong Junior and it was either a weird screen with noise, or the regular Colecovision startup screen with that buzz/humming sound. Each time I turned it off. Finally I decided with Mr. Do! to sit through the buzzing noise at the start up screen and see if it would stop. IT DID! The game played fine. Only thing is... now the system has these odd and sporadic white noise looking lines that show up periodically on the screen that weren't there before, looking as if I had an RF connection or something when I had major clarity before. And the worst part is, sometimes the system will just shut off the game (whatever game it is) completely. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I'm not tech saavy which is why when I do want modded/supped up stuff I buy them, but is it possible I somehow overrode/short circuited the output to the TV? This all the more annoying because I just bought me the game Beam Rider to play on it (en route now) and it looks like I have a Super ColecoVision on the fritz. Any help on this is appreicated should someone have had similar problems or know what the heck to do about it.
  7. I VOTE NES even though I love my 2600 VCS to death for the simple reason that, there were only about 10 or so games I truly couldn't live without during the time I only owned the 2600 which were... Snoopy & The Red Baron, Keystone Kapers, Dig Dug, River Raid, Galaxian, Front Line, Crystal Castles, Chopper Command, Video Pinball, and Berzerk ...whereas by the time 1989 had rolled around I had spent more time playing on my NES with about 25 to 30 "can't live without" games on it. Stuff like Ninja Gaiden and the Contra series was just too good and it led me to collect the JPN versions of them all with a Famicom AV system. I no doubt love my 2600, but the NES has more memories attatched to it for me.
  8. I've been reading some of the past threads here in the 7800 section for the last few nights and have learned a lot (like that my idea to use my Mega Drive controllers like I do on my 2600 won't work without a mod ), and one of the things I was reading on in the 7800 F.A.Q. is that not all 2600 VCS games will play on the 7800 PS. Well one of my all time fave's is Snoopy & The Red Baron which I play rather frequently still, and I was wondering if any of you know if this might be one of the games that won't work on the 7800? I'm not getting rid of my 2600 but I'd like to put it in storage once I get me the ProSystem. Snoopy is a rather obscure title from what I've seen over the years, so does anyone know if the game will or will not work on a 7800? Any help on this is appreciated.
