Yup, the whole thing was very fun. Sorry I couldn't stay for the AA get together...my wife and I needed to get some hangout time together. It was great to meet some of you all. I was able to pick up a bunch of boxed 2600 games, and my first NES! Marty--thanks for the good presentation on the LE stuff you all have done. I hope the 2600 portable comes to fruition sooner rather than later. And that's me, next to some blue haired girl, in the 1st pic in the People At The Show pics.

That first news item is terrible! But the 2nd one--how cool! I wonder--will USB joysticks be available to purchase at the show? And which of the 2 days will the USB joystick and Atari Flashback Portable be presented? Sat or Sunday? (Right now I only have a ticket for Sat...)

wow! Pretty exciting...can't wait to see it in all its glory! And this is one of the many reasons why I love the Atari 2600...it's like a constant treasure hunt of new and undiscovered gems!

Atari Box Protectors for sale IN STOCK! PICS!

I was wondering the same thing... -
Very cool! This is pretty darn cool. You're like a folded paper ninja!

Does anyone who owns one of these actually use it? And if so, what's it like? I know that Video Jogger and Reflex are expensive and hard-to-get, but I rarely (if ever) see the controller itself for sale. Is it rarer than the actual games, or is it just junky? I'm very curious as it looks fun, and was wondering what it would take to own one. Thanks!

I can answer this, but I promised not to. All I can say is: patience. Well, that sounds promising--at least there's hope. "So you're sayin' there's a *chance*!"

Pink! It looks great!

Those are Harmony carts. Don't hold your breath for Chimera. Oh, that's right. Sorry. Loooong thread, and I guess I get confused. A Harmony cart in my hot little hands, then? What's the next step for this project, then?

If you do get it scanned in hi-res, I'd definitely pay for a print/poster of it. And of course, for me, that goes for almost any of the original Atari game artwork. Has anyone had luck/success tracking down original artwork like that?
-
So does this mean we'll be getting Chimera carts in our hot little hands soon?!

I will be there on Sat (and introducing my wife to all this Classic madness). This is my first classing gaming show of any kind, ever...pretty pumped and ready to spend some coin on boxed 2600 games. I'd love to meet many of you in person at a AA gathering as well. Is Albert coming up from da South for this?

Got a KLAX NTSC prototype cart from CPUWIZ--it was sent fast, label looked excellent, and cart was top notch! Would be happy to deal with him again, as he is professional, nice and has good stuff. AND his meticulous packaging saved my cart from being destroyed (soaked in rain!) by the ineptitude of our Chicago mailman.

Had a decent sized deal with Phil (34 boxed games), and even though there was a miscommunication, he went above and beyond to make the situation right. Good guy in my book--recommended.

I know I asked before, but would going to 32k mean that you would have enough memory to do something like separate character name screens, or other bells and whistles like that? Just wondering. And I do love the kangaroo. Could it be in a hidden level or something? (i.e. knock out such-and-such opponent in Round 2, and you get to fight the Roo?)

So, I love this game so much, that I came up with a backstory (in the grand tradition of beautifully simple Atari games with elaborate stories--i.e. Super Breakout) for it, that I think is different than what else is out there for the 2600. Imagine this on the back of the box or the inside of a manual, and let me know what you all think. I'm also thinking about putting together a label/box design based on this, and I have some sketches I'll post soon. Here's what I envisioned after playing the game many times... INDUSTRIAL ESPIONAGE! TRAPPED BY YOUR OWN MEDICAL MARVEL! You and your research partner invented a nanoscopic, biological cancer treatment that grows to overwhelm the cancerous cells, along with shrinking technology used to test it. Everything was going smashingly, until your partner betrayed you to the corrupt pharmaceutical company, Omicron! Late in the lab one night, he trapped you and your mini-pod inside a biological sample -- and your treatment thinks YOU'RE the cancer! You must stay alive long enough to expose the betrayal -- by fighting your own creation!

Not a bad thing, necessarily, but does it serve much of a purposed if you can't alter it? Seems a little redundant next to the power meter. It also clutters your clean upper half up a bit. But I could go either way, I suppose.

Thanks for the compliments. I will see what I can do! More as I get further along, and I hope Debro is cool with this--I'm inspired by this great new rendition of Pac-Man.

Got it. That makes a lot of sense, and is pretty cool. That would be cool to put in the eventual manual (in a slightly less technical way) and I love the idea that your fighter can stage a rally based on performance. Cool. Too bad about the names. That would be cool.

Not sure if this is too late to include, but I was playing today and wondering the following: when you get up from a knockdown or begin the 2nd /3rd round, how is your new energy level decided? I remember that in the NES Tyson's punchout, between rounds, if you repeatedly hit B (or some other button) it would give you a little boost of energy when beginning the next round. Also, I was wondering if it would make sense that the longer you stayed down after a knockdown, the more energy you would have when getting up (like catching your breath). Does that make sense, and if so, would any of that be possible? Also, would it be possible to have the opponents' names at the top when they are introduced at the beginning of each fight? I'd love to have the character names as part of the game. Great work, once again.

This is sweet! Have you discussed a cart release with Albert or anyone? I'd love to take a crack at the artwork... Can't wait to see the final version, since I like this one so much.

I for one, as a non-programmer (graphic designer) would love a tool like that to work on sprites and animations for games as well. If you need someone to beta, I'd love to see it.

Is there any progress on any of these Tron games? Would love to see something happen. Or just as good/better...a version of Discs of Tron for the 2600!!!!
