And I think that's what a lot of us on this board would love to be able to do. Any word on another programmer picking up the mantle? Or should we just start a fund with donations to get Andrew "motivated"?
-
That would be fine to hold off the game, but I'd still love for there to be a sale!
-
Just tried this out on Stella emulator. Very cool! The only thing I'd like more would be if it had music similar to the NES Tyson's Punchout, specifically the training music. Not sure how do-able that would be on the 2600, but that music just was so fun and catchy. Can't wait to get this on a cart!

Perfect name!

Please continue! Even though I can't help technically, I want to encourage you--keep working on it. This has the potential to be pretty cool!
-
Me too! I'd love to hear the "unrelated" John Williams score to accompany Flying Red Cape Man's game!
-
Sweet! I've been following this for a while and am excited to see it released. I'm assuming that the release will be more completed/finished, right? And also, was the Activision game Enduro based on this Sega arcade game? They seem to share some common elements...
-
Very neat. I'd love to see how this unfolds.
-
Checked this demo out on Stella and really dig it! You could call it "Shining Knight"!
-
Me too. Hope the sub has turned out well, so you can get back to bringing Boulder Dash to life on the 2600!

Are you excited about the Chimera multicart?
lapetino replied to Random Terrain's topic in Atari 2600
I totally want one. Is there an *official* signup list? If so, I'd love to be on it. -
Just tried this out on real hardware with the Supercharger/iPod combo, and it's really fun! Love the frentic pace and the music. One thing--not sure if this is on my hardware or something with the bin2wav conversion, but I'm getting some kind of graphical glitch. It looks like there's a little bit of a mirror image of my ship and my shots up at the top of the wall. Any thoughts?

A few carts have been made. Good luck in finding someone who will sell his copy. Thanks for the info, Thomas.
-
So, has anyone made carts of this game, or is anyone willing to make an NTSC one for me? For a reasonable price? I'd love one.
-
Hmmm. It'd be interesting. But it could also be a great candidate for AtariVox! "Bring in the logic probe!"
-
Dang, that's a nice mockup! Did you just make this now? Is that look actually achievable on the 2600? Nathan, if you program it, I'll design a new label and box!! I wonder if the controls would be that hard...up and left/right to jump to the next pad, and button to throw, etc. Not that I know much of anything about the programming end of it...
-
And I don't mean Tron Deadly Discs, the 2600 version that bore no resemblance to the arcade game! Do you all think it's possible to do a 2600 version of this game with the gameplay and perspective? I'd love to see this gladiator-style type game for the 2600.

So, as any more work been done on this? I'm a sucker for 2600 Star Wars games. That's why I just got Swordfight from the Atari Holiday sale! Can't wait to play that "unofficial" SW game!
-
Got mine today too--Stella's Stocking, Toyshop Trouble, and Swordfight! And the AtariVox! Can't wait to try them out tonight after work! Thanks for all your work, Al--and all the other homebrew authors! You all rock!
-
I can't wait for this! Thanks so much for putting this together, and all your hard work on Chimera!
-
It looks like a combination of Night Driver and Enduro, from the looks of the video. Can't wait to see the cart release. It's playable, but is it complete?
-
I saw one of these in that other thread, and I'd love to have one! Anyone got one for sale?
-
Atari art to to admire when you're not playing atari

No doubt! Very very cool! -
I have to say, this thread inspired me, so I took out the cart and played last night. Using the strategies in the thread, I actually got farther then I ever had--beating one of the two bosses from the first level in mission 2. But this thing is still super hard!
