  2. I bought Wingear's arcade Emulator 2000 and it was a complicated mess. I did try to download from MAME and it didn't work for me. I was probably too computer illiterate to figure it out. I found this pirate CD on ebay. I don't want to get anyone in trouble. I should have kept my mouth shut, but I just wanted to share my excitment about being able to play all my aracade favorites from my youth.
  3. Yes, I knew it was a pirate when I bought it, but most of the games are not commerically available anywhere else.
  4. Thanks, guys for the great advice. I found a funky retro store in my neighborhood that sells many atari products including games MIB.
  5. I just got my CD of Revenge of the 80's, 25 Classic Arcade Games, and it's great! Just like I remembered them all. If's funny because many of the games I am more familar with the 2600 adaptations that I played than the actual arcade game it was based on. I love it so much I want to buy the 200 Classic Arcade Games CD next. I don't know the people that put out this CD but I sure love them! http://www.revengeofthe80s.com/
  6. I bought a 2600 when they first came out X yrs ago. I had done two gaming system upgrades and never played my 2600 anymore. In fact most of my games were unplayable anymore for some odd reason. When I moved I gave my system and all of my games to a friend. HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS: If I were to buy a system today, what could I expect? Will many games be unplayable like my old system? Is it possible to find sytems that are still MIB? I understand from a post on another thread that $50 is about as much as one should pay for a 2600. I assume this is a used unit. Is this Austrlian game unit with 100-some games a good option, provided you can find an adaptor for it to work in the USA? Is the best place to buy a 2600 and 2600 games ebay? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm curious about the people that are playing 2600 games now. Are you playing on the original 2600 game system that came out in the late 1970's? Thanks for indulging all my neo-newbie questions.
  7. I had Pitfall II and I remember the music being catchy, but I can't recall how it went. It's been years since I played it and I have since given my 2600 console and games away. Could you hum a few bars of the Pitfall II theme for me?
  8. This started as a sub thread on the Moon Patrol thread. Catchiest music is NOT necesarily the best music, but what 2600 music do you think is the catchiest? What video game tune haunted you all day? What melody did you find yourself humming away from the game console? MY PICKS: Moon Patrol Pressure Cooker

  10. A agree, Moon Patrol was one of the best silver label games as well as one of the best arcade adaptations for the 2600. It's been years since I've played it, so I don't have hints on how to get to the next level. I do know that Moon Patrol has the most addictive music of any video game. I went around humming that song -- all the time! I know that they made a version for the GameBoy, but I have never played it. If you interested in buying the arcade version of Moon Patrol to play on your PC go to: http://www.revengeofthe80s.com/ I've ordered the CD, but haven't received it yet.
  11. I think there should be 2 catagories for Best (Favorite) Atari Game: (1) Best Game adaptation (2) Best Original 2600 Game. IMO the winners would be: (1) Tie - Moon Patrol by Atari/Tapper by Sega (2) Pressure Cooker by Activision [ 02-20-2002: Message edited by: BurgertimeBoy ]
  12. I purchased this new gagdet: TV GAMES VIDEO GAME SYSTEM gamepad with 10 Activison 2600 games inside the controler. The color contrast is all out of wack. For example, on the Freeway game, the white chicken disappears on the road because instead of dark gray, the road is a very pale gray. It doesn't help to try to adjust the TV controls. Does anyone else have this gagdet? Are you having a smiliar problem? Do you know how to fix this? [ 02-20-2002: Message edited by: BurgertimeBoy ] [ 02-20-2002: Message edited by: BurgertimeBoy ]
