I'd like to see someone build an FPGA based 8-bit and/or 16-bit Atari along the lines of the Minimig or one-chip MSX. I think this would be more reasonable and doable. It would be great for it to have an SD card slot, VGA and joystick ports, etc. I'm a little surprised this hasn't already been done. If it has please send me a link. MetalGuy are you listening? tjb

I experienced this earlier as well. When the search did work, it didn't seem to return all the results. I was searching for a couple of specific items I browsed earlier and neither showed up. Once things were going again I was able to find them. This is a the first time I've ever seen this sort of behavior from Ebay. I've seen it slow but never unable to search. tjb

Has anyone produced any homebrew cartridges for the TI-99? Are there resources available for cartridge building? That's one thing the Atari scene has a wealth of. It would be nice to be able to produce a ROM image using PC-based tools and then burn the image to an EPROM in order to run it on the real hardware. tjb

It's definitely possible. I personally am not a hardware guy but there are people here that are capable of performing the necessary mods. At one point I was talking with Longhorn Engineer here at AA about converting a 4 port of mine to use a regular power supply as well as adding an A/V mod. You might want to contact him. Any chance you might post a binary for Impossible Mission with the God mode flag enabled? It would be nice for people like me who can't get very far in the game. I'd just like to be able to look at some of the screens I wouldn't normally be able to get to. tjb

Good call. Clearly I wasn't thinking or I wasn't thinking clearly. The USB version is cheaper (as least if you look at 4-jays price). Their old site had it listed for $145 while AtariMax has the USB cart for $129. Not to mention the USB version it has a menu as opposed to dip switches for program selection and you can put whatever you want on it. I guess this is all null and void if you're a collector and simply want Sean's version just because. tjb

4-Jays may have it. I know they advertise Sean's 2600 Multicart and I know at one time they sold a 5200 Multicart (not sure if it was Sean's or not). Shoot them an e-mail.
