    Indenture

It would be nice to have a version for the Atari 8-bit and/or 5200. I know there's Adventure II and it's great but I was thinking of a game that would have the same low-res graphics as the original Adventure (as Indenture does) to save memory and therefore be able to have a large number of screens to explore. Galahad and the Holy Grail did this. Has this already been done? tjb
  2. I take back what I said. I received a PM from the man himself! My joysticks are expected to be somewhere in the Aug 12-15 shipments. I'm cool now. All I needed was an acknowledgement. I really shouldn't have doubted him in the first place. He's definitely a class act and has always been a strong supporter of the Atari community. tjb
  3. I never even got a response back. I'm done. I've written it off at this point. I can't say I absolutely won't purchase anything from his company in the future but I will be very reluctant to say the least. I'm pretty disappointed (as I know many others are). tjb
  4. Nothing yet?? Sorry, I posted in the wrong thread. The PM was about your Genesis games for sale. I re-sent it. Thanks, tjb
  5. How much for the cat or is he/she included in the lot? tjb
  6. My wife's birthday is also the 8th. tjb
  7. Looks nice! If there is a cartridge run you can count me in! tjb
  8. I have a backlog of stuff I haven't had a chance to play with. I'm in constant acquisition mode. It's like a disease. My wife is really frustrated with me because of the space it requires. I suppose it could always be worse. I could be addicted to gambling or alcohol. tjb

    New games?

Cool. That was coming along nicely. I was disappointed when you stopped. You need to show people that Asteroids.... I mean Rasteroids can be a great game on the 5200. (Yea I know about Meteorites, it's OK.) Allan Thanks for the support. It helps. tjb
  10. I was wondering how Rob was doing. Sorry to hear he's having health issues. I hope he gets bettter soon and that everything works out well for him. tjb
  11. I thought it was cool that you could get the source code to Eastern Front from APX. tjb
  12. I wanted to throw in Steve Baker - Defender Douglas Crockford - Galadhad and the Holy Grail (currently a Javascript guru and creator of JSON) Tom Hudson - Analog magazine Boot camp and numerous games published in the magazine Donald R. Lebeau - Gauntlet tjb
  13. Very cool. It never occurred to me to run OS X under VMware. Did you have to do anything special to run it? Since the current Macs are Intel based I guess it just works? tjb
  14. For some silly reason I like playing those old CGA games. I picked up an XT compatible a while back just so I could run CGA games. It's all about growing older and being nostalgic. Brings back fond memories. I miss the DOS days tjb
  15. I hear you Ax, I've had the same experience the vast majority of the time. I am happy to report a few sellers in recent memory who do consider offers and will counter. tjb

    New games?

I plan on finishing my Rasteroids homebrew soon. I'd like to do a Rampart type game for the 5200. tjb
  17. Awesome! I would think the image data necessary for the rotating rocks would take up quite a bit of memory (assuming pre-shifted images). Is this true or did you come up with a slick way to compress them? tjb
  18. You'd be suprised how much VC++ 6.0 is still used. At work we have at least one remaining project still based on 6. I would imagine some shops don't wan't to invest the time in upgrading to 200x. There's usually a sh*tload of warnings (if not alright errors) but once you work through some of them it's usually the same errors over and over and over. I've seen "seasoned" Windows programmers with a number of years of experience give up after seeing literally hundreds of errors/warnings. Truth is it really isn't that bad if you just invest a little time. tjb
  19. Have you checked Goodwill? We have a Goodwill computer store here in town. They usually have a boatload of older systems. I was thinking of picking up an old XT compatible to play CGA games on. tjb
  20. Very nice! The controls are spot on - very playable. I like the music as well. It's also very colorful. I like it. tjb
  21. I scored a really nice looking white (C64C) styled 1541 in box a while back on fleabay for < $20 but like you said, prices vary widely. Seems like 1541s are very common, 1571s a bit less so. tjb
  22. Maybe it notices that a large portion of the time people searching for Intellivision also end up searching for Jimmy Buffet and thus makes the connection. Kind of like how Amazon tells you "people who purchased this book also bought". BTW, who is the person in your avatar? tjb
  23. Thanks for the reply/info. I'd be running it on an Amiga 1200 with a hard disk. I don't recall how much memory it has but I'm pretty sure it's > 2MB. Do you know if the package supports C++? I know some versions do but being an older version I'm doubtful. It would probably be best to run it under emulation as you suggested. tjb
  24. Does anybody have any experience with SAS/C version 6? Will it work with any Amiga version? I'm thinking about purchasing a copy but I don't know what its requirements are (hardware/OS wise). Thanks, tjb
