I have to agree with Rybags, go with Mac/65. Far superior to the Assembler Editor. tjb

Thanks for the info! I just placed a pre-order. I don't want to miss out on this one. tjb
-
Very nice! Is the item available for purchase? tjb
-
Actually it was Douglas Crockford. According to the rather sparse documentation the use of Graphics mode 3 (BASIC) allowed him to stuff nearly 100 screens and a program into 32K of memory. tjb

To the best of my knowledge Galahad was only available on diskette from APX (and later Antic Publishing). I totally agree with you about Galahad. It is one of my favorite games of all time. I don't know if you'd really consider it to be similar but Journey to the Planets comes to mind as another game I consider to be as good as Galahad (IMHO). tjb

Hey tj, So what was his house like? Lots of clutter? Just curious. Personally I feel pretty bad for the guy. It's obvious that he's a bit off. It's got to be hard to try and make ends meet selling Atari items. I say let him be. Direct all flaming arrows to /dev/null. tjb

lots of A8 - ST-era stuff - pricing updates 10/1
tjb replied to jdrew's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I purchased a number of items as well and received them all in good shape. tjb -
Great! Are there any more like you in SA town? Want to meet up sometime? I've seen at least a couple of people here but admittedly I haven't actively been trying to find local enthusiasts. I know they exist here and there. Sure, we can meet. Do you want to try and put the word out here and see if anyone else is interested? tjb

10502PC/Prosystem Interface is now available for custom ordering

I just placed an order. Thanks, tjb -
Anyone have one of the direct-connect Supra Hard drives that they would like to sell? If I remember correctly there was a 10 meg and a 20 meg model. When I was a teenager I knew a local Sysop who ran his BBS on one. Thanks, tjb

Ok, mine says: Atari Falcon030 USA Serial Number: Y 43602 1003426 FWIW, it also mentions that it was made in Taiwan. The memory section says 4 MB while the hard drive section is blank. Seems to be a stock Falcon externally. I'll open it up this weekend and post pictures. According to the previous owner he purchased it from "Hans Krober, Atari Engineer". Moby games has an entry for him here: http://www.mobygames.com/developer/sheet/v...eloperId,63017/ He's credited with the Iron Soldier series, Fight For Life, and Hover Strike. Hopefully the guy I purchased it from will run across this thread and chime in with additional info. tjb

I think you got a great deal as well. I just bought a 030 off Egay for $750 (plus shipping). The guy I got it from is well known here and I've purchased stuff from him before so I knew it would be in good shape. It came fully loaded with a full 14 megs of RAM along with a 240 meg hard drive (4 60 meg partitions). As an added bonus, it belonged to a former Atari Engineer (apparently a Jag programmer) and has a number of Jag technical files and source code! In looking at the prices at B & C I felt it was a good deal. I'm happy. In any case, congrats, you got a great deal! tjb

FWIW, I'm an Atari user/fan and I live in SA tjb

Thank you, I am trying hard to keep it reasonable I also just finished testing my new 10502PC/Prosystem compatible adaptor and will be offering that for sale as well. Will look pretty much like SIO2PC and will be priced reasonably as well. Ray Let us know when the 10502PC is available. I for one am interested. I'd pick up your SIO2PC cable but I already have regular 2 cables as well as the USB version of AtariMax's SIO2PC board. tjb

The SIO2PC cable looks very neat. Much better than a bare circuit board. Very reasonable price IMO. tjb

Does this store have a web site? Can you order goods online? tjb

I recently acquired a Falcon and noticed during the boot process it loads a TCP/IP driver. Because of this and the fact it has a browser installed I'm sure it has been used to surf at some point. I was wondering what I need besides the software (i.e. cable and possibly hardware) to connect it? I realize the browser software is probably not going to be able to handle many sites but it would still be cool just to be able to do it. Thanks in advance. tjb

I don't know if this helps or not but B & C ComputerVisions has these models for sale: HDS102 COMPUTER FALCON 4 MEG/80HD RECON 850.00 LIKE NEW HDS103 COMPUTER FALCON 14 MEG/80HD RECON 999.00 LIKE NEW They can be a bit pricey IMHO. Also, I picked up one on Ebay fully loaded w 14 Megs of RAM and a 240 Meg hard drive (4 60 Meg partitions) for $800 not including shipping. tjb

Fantastic! I'm jealous! tjb

I dunno Glenn, I filled it out correctly, guess I just somehow didn't make the mix, I have checked my junk folder and inbox everyday and no luck. I am sure if I did fill out another now it would be too late as so much time has passed. WP Did you get a small popup when you registered? The first time I tried signing up I had popups disabled and it didn't take. Just a thought. You might also try e-mailing him directly. I doubt it's too late. While there is considerable interest, 250 is a pretty large production run. Don't give up, hang in there tjb
-
I'm sure you will, I registered yesterday and just got a response. tjb

I wonder if the Forum software (Al are you listening?) allows for custom written modules? I would assume so. Perhaps a custom module could be written where you could post feedback on trades for a given member. It could also allow you to quickly look up someone to see their feedback. Just an idea. tjb

Nah, I'm sure he read them for the articles... tjb

Atari810 Emulator for SIO2PC 1.4 by Dan Vernon
tjb replied to atari8warez's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I've used the Atari810 Emulator program for quite some time now and found it to work well. I've never even tried APE but based on the comments I'm hearing I think I might just pick up the USB version along with a registered copy of the software. tjb
