  1. One more video. In this one I jacked up the number of pulse bombs to 15 and use them to advance to the Alien missile attack wave. No matter how many pulse bombs you have it will display a maximum of 5. I managed to shoot down a couple of missles and the Alien before getting destroyed. tjb P.S. The attached file is not a .zip but a .7z (7-zip) file. A zip file was too large and the AtariAge forum software would not allow me to upload a .7z file. You'll need to rename it to .7z. rast_shoot_missile.zip
  2. Sorry to take so long to respond. For some reason when I click on "My Posts" this thread was not marked as having new responses. I just happened to notice the last posted date was within the last couple of days. Anyway, I've made some progress since the last post here. Here's a list (off the top of my head) of changes: * Ported to 5200 * Some sounds are present * Powerups: Additional shield time, pulse bomb, destructive shield, bonus ship, deflector shield * pulse bombs (kind of like a smart bomb, emits a high energy "pulse" around the ship and nukes everything that comes in contact with it. Right now you start out with 3. Not sure if you will be given any to start with in the final game.) * Minor Asteroids/Alien ship explosion enhancements (more random, the last 2 frames are of a single pixel to give a "fade out" kind of effect. Very subtle.) * Alien missile attack wave (very experimental and quirkly at the moment. A single Alien fires guided missiles at the player. The player must avoid or shoot down the missiles and of course destroy the alien. The Alien will need some AI and a different image. Like a "boss" Alien) * Alien shots are now a line rather than a bullet. (I may end of going back to bullets for all but the Alien attack wave) * Alien is now deadly accurate. (Right now I start off at a high "wave" to test the accuracy. Normally the accuracy will get better as you get farther in the game. As you would expect.) * By default the ship now gets bounced around when the shield is engaged. (There are now shield related powerups to make the shield destructive and deflecting. ) Please forgive my ramblings. I was just doing a brain dump of the changes. Attached is a video showing sounds, the new alien bullet type, the pulse bomb, the new shield behavior, and the additional shield time powerup. I appreciate your interest in the project. Rest assurred I will finish it. tjb rast08172007.zip
  3. It works for me now as well. Nice! I like it... tjb
  4. Thanks Miker! I guess it has been some time since I posted anything about the game. I've still been working on it here and there and still plan on releasing it. I guess I stopped actively posting about it because there seemed to be little interest in the game. tjb
  5. Interesting. Can some kind soul who is versed in both Polish and English please translate the blurb on my game Rasteroids? Thanks, tjb
  6. I tried booting and running the RUNME.EXE in Atari800Win+ 4.0 and it crashes under XL/XE emulation. Running it as an 800 just returns to the DOS menu. I also tried both PAL and NTSC. Is there something else I should be doing? Thanks, tjb
  7. I agree with Heaven. The reason you would go the PC route is simple...speed and shortened development cycle. You can assemble your program nearly instantly and then load it into an emulator and test it. On real hardware you have to wait on slow I/O, deal with only 40 columns, etc. Another reason I like doing cross development using a PC is that your programs can pretty much use nearly all of page zero. If you are using the real hardware you have to make sure your program doesn't use page zero locations in use by your assembler for example. You can assemble straight to disk but that's really slow. Also, if the emulator crashes you can use the built-in monitor to aid in debugging. On the real hardware you would most likely need to reboot. Using a PC increases your productivity several fold. Quite frankly, after going the PC route I feel sorry for the guys who developed for the platform originally. Of course at the time that was the best they had... tjb
  8. Can you list what's still available and what's already been sold? Thanks, tjb

    5200 Case Question

EDIT... wait... are you talking about where the sticks connect at the front of the console, or the joystick storage area at the back of the console? My reply below was based on me thinking you were talking about the storage area. The door doesn't snap or glue into place. It just sits there and is held in place when the upper and lower case halves are put together. And AFAIK the piece should be completely interchangeable between the 2 and 4 port systems. Can't think of any reason they'd be different. I was referring to the piece that fits over the joystick ports. Thanks, tjb
  10. I have a 2 port 5200 and a 4 port 5200. The 2 port model works fine but is missing the plastic piece that fits over the joystick ports. I tried removing that same piece from my 4 port model. My idea was to see if it would be possible to find a junk 2 port guy that I could salvage the piece from. I was able to remove the piece but now I can't seem to get it to fit snugly back on my 4 port guy. Is there a trick to this? It does not appear that it was glued or that I broke any pieces removing it. I can certainly glue it back on but I was hoping it would simply snap back into place. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks, tjb
  11. Has anyone from the U.S. purchased anything from these guys? They seem expensive especially considering the shipping costs. They do seem to carry Telegames titles that their U.S. counterpart no longer offers however. Thanks, tjb
  12. Wow, I must say, that looks truly amazing! I'm impressed to say the least! tjb
  13. He certainly did not receive it from me. I do not give out customer information to anyone (I don't know if you're a customer or not), I do not send or support the sending of unsolicited emails, and I do not support the distribution of the ROMs owned by Intellivision Productions by anyone other than Intellivision Productions themselves. This person is not affiliated with Schell's Electronics. Chad (Who actually received an email as well.) I do happen to be a CC3 customer. I wonder if he did some sort of mass e-mailing or only to CC3 customers. tjb
  14. I received an e-mail from you regarding your CC3 package. Where did you get my e-mail address from? tjb
  15. Are you strickly interested in selling the entire lot or are you open to offers on individual games? Thanks, tjb P.S. It would be nice if you could add a turd or two to your avatar
  16. Yes, I did that, which is where I got the email link to [email protected], which is when I sent the email on 7/10 as I stated above, which is why I am asking this question publicly because as of 7/19 I have heard nothing via email (or PM sent the same day). I can sympathize with your situation regarding the e-mail. I've sent PM's in the past (different subject, however) and never received a reply. I gave up. tjb
  17. You can also use one of the Cuttle Carts (1 or 2) or the Krocodile cart to test homebrews if you can still find one. tjb
  18. Having only been a buyer on Ebay, I have to ask: Why would Ebay prohibit auctions on "prototypes"? tjb Who knows. They are weirdly selective about which systems auctions they interfere with. They'll shut down every 2600 proto auction but never do anything to a TI-99 proto auction. You'll never get an answer from ebay as to why. I bet people got ripped off on so called 2600 protos and complained. Maybe there's been more legit TI-99 proto auctions or at least fewer complaints? tjb
