  1. Floppies are always welcome. Do you have any NOS 5.25 inch disks? tjb

    busterm

I purchased a Jaguar CD Unit and a number of Jag games from busterm at great prices. The goods arrived promptly in great condition. It was a pleasure dealing with him and I'm sure I'll be doing so again in the future. tjb
  3. The VGA version is now available... tjb
  4. I know I've seen discussions about using SpartaDos with the SDrive Nuxx but I've only heard mention of it's use with SpartaDos X. I have been unable to get it work with any version other than X. It's not the latest, in fact it's the original cart I'm using. Does anyone know why 3.3 for instance doesn't work? It seems to boot to a point but when the ultra-speed kicks in it locks up. tjb
  5. Thanks for the replies. It did seem to be hard to come by but I still thought the price a bit steep. I guess if you were really into collecting it would be worth it. I do collect but I do so more to play the games rather that have them sit. tjb
  6. The CFFA 3000 (new version they are working on) looks really nice... He said he has made over 1000 of them (the original CFFA)!!!!! That's one SERIOUS hobby/side biz!!! No idea what his overhead is, but, that's over/around $100,000 changing hands!!! desiv The guy is super-nice. I purchased one and like a dumba** installed it incorrectly and it basically fried the thing. I exchanged emails with him and ended up calling him. He talked me through trying various things to conclude that the board was indeed bad. He ended up sending me another board at no cost even though I told him it was because of my ignorance the thing was defective! It was cool talking to him in the wee hours of the morning while he had me plug in hex values using the monitor. tjb
  7. I like the IIc myself mainly because it has a built in floppy drive. They are pretty durable as well. I also really like the Laser 128 clone. I got one mainly because it was compatible with this device: CFFA For Apple II tjb
  8. I agree. I'm quite sure there's someone out there who would want it. tjb
  9. Thanks Al, I'll use the right tag next time. BTW, just out of curiosity, are the eBay tags part of some custom code mods you wrote? tjb
  10. Here's a copy of Karateka (XE version) for $180 OBO. I checked both B & C and Best and neither have it. Still I didn't think it was that rare and $180 seems pretty steep to me. Am I wrong? Opinions? eBay Auction -- Item Number: 180567857226 BTW, what's the tag for Ebay listings? I can never remember it. tjb
  11. Thanks for all the info and files. They are most appreciated. It seems there are plenty of options to choose from. I actually own a registered copy of APE but haven't used it much (obviously). I've used the SIO2PC interface quite a bit but I normally use it with this app: http://retrobits.net/atari/atari810.shtml I didn't realize APE was so feature rich. tjb
  12. I just got an e-mail announcing that the MCC now supports the Atari 2600 and Amiga. I sent them an e-mail to try and find out when these new cores will be available. I can't wait! tjb
  13. I'd like to create a 16 meg disk image for use with my SDrive NUXX. How would I go about doing this? Also, what DOS should I use? Any opinions? Thanks, tjb
  14. They're back up but It doesn't look any different to me... tjb
  15. I know this might be obvious but did you try cleaning the contacts on the cart(s)? I've experienced this because of dirty contacts. Hopefully that's all it is. tjb
  16. Looks like it was just a gimmick. It be interesting to see if they still retain the no DRM policy. tjb
  17. Amy chance you have a Supra drive for the Atari 8-bit? tjb
  18. Man that sucks. I liked GOG quite a bit and purchased a number of great games there for next to nothing. tjb
  19. I just noticed this. I'd like to participate. tjb
  20. That's the one: ds111.zip It compiles to RA65 assembler code, then pure 6502 binary. What C compiler on the PC would be best to rebuild this? I fancy adding double-buffered I/O and such like (the I/O was single byte and way slow under SpartaDOS X with the library turned off). I was looking over the disks in the distribution and it looks like the C sources for the compiler itself are included. Is that to say that CC65 can be used to build itself? I wasn't sure what you meant when you asked which PC-based compiler would be best but now I take it you are referring to a PC-based cross-compiler to rebuild the entire suite of apps? I also noticed quite a bit of assembler source much of which I would imagine would be the RTL sources but I wonder if the initial "bootstrap" version of the compiler is included as well? tjb
  21. That's the one from Page 6 magazine, correct? It was published with sources? Did it produce native code (directly or indirectly)? tjb
  22. Here you casn find a list of programming languages with references: http://gury.atari8.i...r_languages.htm -Devwebcl Wow, that's great! Thanks! tjb
  23. The only C compilers I know of for the Atari 8-bit machines (the ones hosted on the machine itself) are: Deep Blue C originally from APX and later Antic Lightspeed C from Clearstar Softtechnologies (Apparently B & C Computervisions acquired the rights to this one at some point - I picked up a copy from them a while back) C/65 (from OSS?) I want to say there was an "Ace C" that was some derivative of Deep Blue C (or vice versa) but I can't recall for sure. Are there any others? Of those only C/65 generates native code (assembler source actually). I must admit I'm a little disappointed that the Atari 8-bits didn't have more C compilers available. It seems like the C64 had some really good native code producing compilers. I was always wondering why we didn't. Thoughts? tjb
