Yes sir, that would be me.

I received my XL system yesterday! Very nice package. The joystick you provided is very responsive. Are these for sale separately?

Are you selling this strictly as a lot? Also, are you willing to ship them out?

Interesting. I didn't know about it.

I would be one of those people who never knew about the extra caverns. That's really cool! Sorry, I should have Googled before asking. The Wikipedia article has mentions the Adventurer's edition:

Also, I think this is a map of the extra caverns, right?

I have to agree with nathanallan, I think the price for the modded XL systems is really good. So much so, I'm going to pick one up.
BTW, kjmann, I noticed the Pitfall II Adventurer's Editiion cart for sale. It mentions having extra caverns. I was curious as to the story behind this one. Is this some sort of custom hack someone did or a rare enhanced version that never officially saw the light of day. Good luck with the store BTW, I know I be picking up some items.

I could see $50. In fact, I scored one a while back from our local Goodwill complete in box for $50.
When I saw the $399.95 price tag I figured it had a hard drive, memory upgrade, lots of software, monitor, joystick, was personally autographed by Jay Miner, was gold plated, etc. But no, just the machine itself. It's not like they're ultra rare either. They show up on FleaBay regularly. Attach the "R" word to it and suddenly it's worth several hundred...

I'll take #94.

I just received a FlashBack 2 complete with the cartridge mod from brojamfootball and it is superb! He does fantastic work. The mod is flawless cosmetically and functionally. I'm very pleased with my purchase. It's apparent the guy is a real perfectionist. I highly recommend his work. And to top it off, he's exceptionally nice and easy to deal with. I'm sure I will be doing business with him again.

Could I get my name on the list for the second batch?
Thanks,
tjb
Just checked, you are #10 on the first batch

Did you add me to the list or was I already part of it? Guess I'm getting old, I don't remember...
Thanks,

As with all your PDF publications, I'd like to have 2

It looks fantastic! I'll definitely be buying a cart (or two) assuming a release is forthcoming.

You will get these from ChickyBaby as a 3DSSS release once they are finished. There will be some time to go yet.
Probably when its warm again....hopefully.
Im just hoping I can fit this all on a 32 K chip or Im goingto have to get creative hardware wise and quickly. Never messed with switch banking for 7800 yet....yet.

Oh crap! I just noticed, thre is no mission text in War Wings.... DOH!...Ill have to fix
and update that shot.

EDIT: Shot of War wings repaired!

Hmm, 3DSSS + MilfTech should be interesting. Will there be naked chicks on the box?

I've heard MindWalker is very unique and impressive in its time. Bill Williams was a very talented individual. He also graced us with Alley Cat, Necromancer, and Salmon Run. May he rest in peace.

Have you considered a scheme where you control exclusively with keyboard?
You could do something like Z/X to rotate, SHIFT to thrust and START to fire. Of course, Atari keyboards are a pain in that you can't scan individual keys, but there is sufficient independance that you could do games using those keys.
BREAK is also seperate from the remainder, so you could employ that for Hyperspace/whatever.
I guess the other problem too is that those mappings aren't friendly for 1200XL or XEs.
It never dawned on me to have a keyboard-only scheme until Mr. Fish pointed out that the original used only buttons. I would really like to leave it up to the user. Maybe allow use of any combination of joystick (regular or sega) + keyboard. That way you have the freedom to choose. I'd definitely like to try using the keyboard exclusively.

on the A8 maybe you could just hold the joystick down/back for the shield like the standard A8 asteroids game

True, but then you'd have to choose between from flipping 180 degrees, hyperspace, or engaging the shield for the joystick down/back function. The other two would have to be activated using the keyboard. There's also the EMP (Electro-Magnetic pulse) powerup that acts as sort of a smart bomb. With the 5200 you have access to all these at the same time. I'm hoping to support the Genesis game-pad so that A8 owners can use all these without having to fall back on the keyboard.

Sure... here you go. No problem.
MakeATR is the utility needed to get at the source files. The disk is a MyDOS disk, and the files are in a subdirectory ("source").
Thanks for the sources and the info! I probably just needed to go into the "source" directory and go from there. The utility I was using had a plus (+) beside the "source" entry. I wasn't sure what this meant. I may have been using MakeATR. The utility was GUI-based and had options to extract text and binary files neither of which worked for the "source" entry for some strange reason
