  1. I disagree. As I have said already, I have sold many much less interesting or significant titles for between 150 and 300 dollars over the last 10 years. Here's a challenge, please post an example of a more interesting unique title that sold for 4-5 times less? ($125-100). Once again this will be subjective, but shouldn't be too difficult: 1) Title, 2) price it sold for 3) your personal opinion of why that title is more awesome than the earliest known copy of one of only a handful of known 4 player 5200 games... but still only sold for 100-125 bucks.
  2. Guys... About 10 years ago I sold 20 of my protos for prices I that chose, 300, 250, 150, 100, etc.... and I kept this one, never put it up for sale until now. This price its been reduced to, 499, is what its worth to me, nothing less. I don't care if it ever sells. I enjoy owning something with a story. It costs me nothing to have it on the market for now. I'm in no hurry. We are talking about something with very subjective value but also very real rarity. I've sold over 40,000 items on ebay, but that doesn't mean everything I have in my personal collections is always for sale, that's my decision. This piece is for sale for now. Enjoy the pieces you own that are or aren't for sale. :-)
  3. I put the proto up on ebay a few minutes ago. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/161749942410?
  4. I have decided to sell the most important piece of my Atari 5200 prototype collection. The earliest known version of Basketball! Thanks to Tempest for your help researching this proto back in 2006! I will consider offers here before I put it up on ebay. I am an established seller there with over 10,000+ feedback. http://atariage.com/forums/topic/87144-new-version-of-5200-rs-basketball-discovered/ http://www.atariprot...sbasketball.htm Thanks Canyon Fisher PixelBiscuit Records

  7. Last Starfighter? I´d be very interested in that one. Regarding protos and eBay, I bought two Jaguar protos not too long ago. Space War 2000 and Phase Zero. Can´t actually remember much from the transaction other than they probably weren´t listed as protos. I don't have Last Starfighter... 8. 5200 protos only at this point.
  9. Thanks Iannoid. Same goes for you. Where is the recommend list of sellers/buyers on this site? Has anyone ever done an auction like thread here? A seller offering a proto for bid by post? The buyers could post here (or by PM if they prefer, but that might reduce the legitimacy of the bidding) and the seller could summarize the bids with a post once every evening for a week?
  10. So eBay doesn't allow the sale of prototypes because they consider it beta software, akin to selling an unreleased version of PhotoShop. Some people have suggested to me you can still sell prototypes on eBay by NOT mentioning that they are prototypes, with the additional suggestion of using a reserve price, a high starting bid, etc, etc.... Can anyone show me an example of a completed listing on eBay of such a sale? If they are no longer in the database, can they explain their story? Has anyone here ever bought or sold a proto on eBay? Anywhere else? I sold two of mine (Microgrammon SB and Galaxian) through the forums here... (Thank you AtariAge!) I have many more to sell. Please let me know if there is a title you are interested in. I will negociate for multiple purchases. Please don't lowball ball me, I have had these carts for many years, and am in no hurry to get rid of them. Please see my listing in the Marketplace forum which includes pics & fair prices.

  15. with the protos was a 5200 system and trackball, along with a bunch of regular released games, it wasn't a stash of just protos... that would be truly strange. I Think the whole set up had been there since the early 80s, everything was in good shape. I sold the system and trackball on ebay 5 years back, now I wish I held on to it. The trackball sold for $125. I think the system sold for $50. At the time I didn't know what the protos were, and I didn't think they were sellable on ebay, so I just held on to them as a curiosity. glad I did! C
