  1. Those Coleco (one and two-player versions) units are $4.88 at Wal-Mart right now; I doubt they are worth even that!
  2. I don't usually go for traditional RPGs. I played Dragon Warrior quite a lot back when it first came out (got mine free with a subscription to Nintendo Power). I sorta lost interest after my younger brother accidentally deleted my game. I was soooo far! I actually enjoyed making a map of the Deathstar in the Namco version of Star Wars (Famicom). Of course, the fact that a lot of the rooms were one screen (Zelda style scrolling) and having an emulator made it much easier than how it would have been back in the day.
  3. Yesterday, while digging through an old box, I found my old Herb Alpert - Classics collection and put it on. What a nostalgia trip! As young kids, my sister and I would make up skits and dance to the music on the turntable. Now I have to find my Mancini stuff.
  4. I voted "B". The logo is just as sufficient as "A" and is more centered.
  5. Not that I doubt what you are saying, but links/proof would be nice. I want an Intellicart so bad I can't stand myself! Still, it always seems when such an opportunity comes up, I'm short the cash. :sigh:

  7. I'm sorry if this has been discussed before and I missed it, but will TJ's Ixion/Atrix hack be offered in the AA store some time in the future?
  8. It took forever for the department stores to even carry the FB2 around here. Now that they have, they always seem to be in good supply. The interest for these types of plug-n-play games seems to have dwindled down quite a lot. I've noticed that at Wal-Mart, many of those that were released in 2005 for $25-35 are marked to clear out at $4.88; I can't imagine that this is helping Flashback sales.
  9. I have an advance, and never thought to get an SP. My brother has one, and while the screen is much nicer I really don't like the feel of it at all. My advance suits me fine. IMO, the DS is designed more comfortably than the SP. The DS Lite sounds pretty good to me. I've only played Super Mario Kart on the DS, but was pretty impressed. If I get another handheld any time soon, this will most likely be it.
  10. Directly underneath the title of this thread, there are three options: Outline · [ Standard ] · Linear+ I'm betting that yours is set on [Linear+]. Try clicking on [standard] to fix your problem.
  11. Here is a Vib Ribbon fanpage. I haven't played the game myself, but it looks and sounds intriguing.
  12. Space Channel 5 always seemed easier to me than games like DDR. Maybe my rhythm is just a little off or something. Is the PS2 version much different from the Dreamcast version? It's a great game... I should dig it out again soon. I just wish the translation for part II was finished.
  13. It's one that you kind of have to have nostalgia for to really get into it. I played it a lot when I was younger. Only one store even carried TG-16 games, IIRC, and so my selection was very limited. The underground scenes aren't that bad. The enemies are weird... I seem to remember walking revolvers? Also, it was one of the first games I played that you only had one life. Those darn hot coals on the upside-down overworld pissed me off quite a lot. It was also the first/only game I ever called NEC's hotline about; The guy on the line was an idiot! I don't remember if I ever got past that boss.
  14. Although, I don't play it much if at all today, I remember a time when my brother, sister, and I would get up early in the morning and fight over who got to play Pac-Man. Back then it made no difference to me. Today there are just too many better options to get my Pac-Man fix. I've never taken the time to get into E.T.. Random Terrain's webpage recently opened my eyes to a lot of things about the game and one day I plan to give it the attention it deserves. Still, I give the game merit for being more involved (as far as gameplay) than other VCS titles. "You mean, you actually have to read the manual?!" //completely unrelated: When you end a sentence with something like "E.T.", do you add another period?
  15. Wow! I'm doing good! I'm cruising through this puzzle! Aww crap! What'd I miss?! I'm Sudoku crazed! Cannot fight the addiction I dream in numbers I missed the deadline for this darn haiku contest! Only five months late.
  16. I haven't played since I was a kid. No one will play Atari with me these days. I did remember that the mazes were seemingly random and the game being quite fun in 2-player mode, but that is about all.
  17. Here are some more: Icey mazes where a player has to control the speed to catch a corner Mazes without walls (ala Marble Craze); instead with ledges to fall off (player begins maze again) AtariVox support! Players are obstacles; Player 2 cannot move through Player 1 and vice versa. This might require the maze paths to be at least double the player width in most places... or perhaps upon colliding there could be a bump effect. This might make for some interesting bump/battles for the same doorway (or with levels with ledges, you could bump your opponent off the edge). One-way avenues. So you chose the wrong way; you have to find another way out. Sandy paths that slow a player's movement. (There might even be a powerup that negates the effect)
  18. 2-player mode: Random and pre-rendered mazes Split screen like Marble Craze Invisible/Dark areas Maze scrolling, so one cannot view the entire maze on screen (each maze takes trial and error) 1-player mode: Time limited mazes Time attack on pre-rendered mazes Hi-score save (memory card) If the memory card could be used save the player input on a maze, perhaps one could race their ghost (ala Super Mario Kart). Powerups, Traps, etc: Jump wall Bomb wall Swap players positions Send player back to the beginning Teleport player to unknown part of the maze (for better or worse) Mirror or flip maze There could even be a countdown timer for swapping player positions or flipping the maze (kind of like Chuchu Rocket). Maybe I'm being ridiculous?
  19. Years ago when I was tight for money, I called to have my Qwest internet service turned off. I figured I'd get around to setting up a Netzero or Access4Less account as soon as they shut me down. Well, I got free internet for 2 1/2 years after that until I moved to Seattle. I should check the account now that I am back.
  20. So can you find Jim Praget's Emu News? It is kind of cool to see that old page. I always liked the old Galaga style logo... and I remember a space invader logo that came later. Is that your account at uswest? There's some interesting stuff in the parent directory!
  21. You could always start one yourself and then post an invitation here in the forums. I think at one time, Alex had plans to incorporate a chatroom. 22. 5 or 10 minutes... sometimes less. I'm a crazy type A.D.D. boy who needs a quick fix or all else ends. The only game that has kept my attention for more than a few hours in recent days is "Metroid Zero Mission". Still, I'm not entirely sure I will complete it. Everything fell into place until I killed the Mother Brain. Now, I find that the he Space Pirates have the best AI in any 2D game I've ever played! I'm such a wuss once about continuing once I'vve been defeated 3 or 4 times! I really want to finish this one, but I'm dying here! [email protected]!
  23. I don't have an Xbox 360 controller. I have several other gamepads and joysticks that I have plugged into my PC. Joy2Key has solved most of my joystick mapping problems. Maybe it will work for you.
  24. I haven't gone there since it was Dave's Video Game Classics! It seems that Zophar.net hasn't had an update in months either.
  25. I have one called TyperShark on my PC where you ocean dive and shoot sharks and other man-eating fish with words on their bellies. It's pretty fun, but your hands start to hurt after awhile. @Wester: It's definitely possible. You might want to take a look at Holey Moley It might be interesting to hack Holey Moley into a game where you kill Zombies. And get docked when you kill innocent victims. I don't know that Bob Polaro would be happy about any sort of release though.
