Looks great so far!

I've got a solution to that (more details soon) 1000217 ...will stay tuned!

The VecFlash is great! The only thing I don't like is that I have to haul my Vectrex into the computer room each time I flash the cart. That's only temporary though because I'll be moving an older PC into the gameroom to use for DOS games and with my VecFlash, Krokocart, and Supercharger! So... how many of you have one of Richard's multi-console adapters adapters so that you can use it with your ColecoVision!? I bought myself one for Christmas. There are a lot of great arcade ports on the ColecoVision!

Dig-Dug Arcade. Need Hacker For Help.
uosipa llamxew replied to Atariboy2600's topic in Atari 2600 Hacks
Interesting, I checked it out in MAME! the Galaxian hardware Zig Zag has some interesting differences including the pickaxe, while the Dig Dug hardware Zig Zag doesn't seem to have anything different besides the logo. The pickaxe is a nice feature... it's just too bad it isn't on the Dig Dug hardware bootleg because I don't really care for the glitchiness of the other. I've always been more of a Mr Do fan. All this time, in Dig Dug, I've usually killed the enemies with the pump instead of using the boulders. Until I opened up the VCS ROM and saw the bonus fruits, I'd never even seen any appear in the game! So I go back and realize that moving about and breaking the boulders (tilling the soil) made the ground more fertile and fruits and vegetable snacks were to be had! That realization alone just made the game 100 times more fun for me then it ever has been before! -

I guess it just goes to show how little I know about the subject! I thought it was funny, because of the Dig Dug bootleg Zig Zag. -
This morning, my housekeeper brought over a box of Atari stuff. I told her that I would list it here and see if there are any offers or if I could see what it might be worth on eBay. I was tough with the ratings, so if there's any interest, I'll try and get pics later (my camera is on its way home from Germany) . Nothing here has been tested yet, but I can test most of it (except Genesis crap) upon request. Make me an offer or feel free to tell me what you think it's worth (if anything)... maybe as a starter collection. Out of this World:is it possible to 2600 port?
uosipa llamxew replied to fabventure2600's topic in Homebrew Discussion
I dumped the contents of the download into my inducer folder (subdirectory of SBinducer) and was able to create an image that way. The game seems much harder than I remember! Stupid worms with fangs! Anyways, I uploaded the file for anyone who doesn't want to mess with creating an image themselves. It should burn easily with software like Discjuggler or Alcohol 120%. Another World BTW, this image won't work in Chankast, because SBinducer discs crash the emulator. -

I dug (heh) through the ROM and found some locations for graphics. I'm not sure if I got everything, but I think it's close. There were some weird zigzags in the ROM too! I'd love to play Aztarac with the right arcade controls! It's just too darn hard with my current setup... but it's beautiful! -
If he had 26 dollars to spend on the book, he'd probably have bought some of the games.

(Fall Down) for the Dreamcast
uosipa llamxew replied to Moondoggie1968's topic in Homebrew Discussion
I burned a copy. It is DCStella and the ROM, but the picture of the cartridge is pretty cool. For some reason the logo in the game was a bit messed up though. -
Would it have something to do with one of the threads that popped up in the forums recently? I've got your blog in my favorites.

Concepting a Conversion #3: Space Seeker

Ehhh. I'd like to know how you'd work that! 994760 I don't know anything about how possible or ridiculously hard it would be to get it to display, but I threw something together with the VCS color pallete: -

Am I mistaken, or is this is a cd image of StellaDC with the Falldown ROM? I downloaded the file, but it gave me a recording procedure error when I tried to burn the CD. Also, Alcohol 120% won't allow me to mount the image to a virtual drive to try on Chancast. -
I had an Intellivision II growing up with about 30 games. It was my second console, alongside my VCS, and so I will always have a soft spot for it. I loved playing games like Tron - Deadly discs, Utopia, Bump 'N' Jump, etc. As someone already mentioned, the Intellivision has the best console port of Burgertime ever! We also had the ECS expansion; I watched my brother animate a black bat on the screen before he decided that programming wasn't his thing. I spent a lot of time composing my own music (noise) on the keyboard. Back then, with all of its little gimmicks, the Intellivision seemed so very advanced beyond the VCS. The controllers sucked though, it's undeniable. In a fit of nostalgia, I bought myself an Intellivision I in a thrift store about 10 years ago. The controllers are a ton better than the Intellivision II controllers! Still, I understand the hatred for those blasted side buttons! I only saw a ColecoVision once as a kid. When I was 11 or 12, my friend's dad had rented the machine and we tried to hook it up and play while he was away at work. When we finally got it set up, we realized there were no games to play. I never saw or heard anything about the ColecoVision for years after that until I got online and looked up "classic videogames". I bought my ColecoVision a couple of years ago. It's quickly become one of my favorite gaming machines with all of its fantastic arcade ports. I recently bought one of Richard Hutchinson's multi-console adapters for my VecFlash and have been able to play more of the ColecoVision library... it's been quite a trip! I'm also a big fan of the ColecoVision's thriving homebrew scene. As you see, I am quite fond of both machines. If I had to choose one ore the other, I would have to choose my ColecoVision; I'm really glad that I don't have to choose between them though.

There are some pictures in this thread, but they were taken in an earlier WIP. It's possible a lot has changed since then. -

Here's a quick (long) list of some favorites. I'm not sure how obscure they are, but I've never seen any of them in the arcades. I just thought I'd chime in and give a thumbsup for Richard's multi-adapter! I've only had mine for a few days and I'm loving it! It is well worth the money. Also, thanks for the link! The page looks very promising!

Cyplix II: Kepone's Revenge plus Bonus game for PC
uosipa llamxew replied to Atari Charles's topic in Atari 2600 Hacks
Cool! What game are you hacking to create Cyplix II? -
Quick update... The platforms don't flicker nearly as much now. I changed the condor graphic. It's a smaller bird now, but I tweaked the game so that it comes out immediately and is pretty determined to pop your balloon. The only thing I don't like about this, is that the condor sound effect can get a bit grating. I still can't find the egg color to turn the balloons red. Balloon_Fight_v2.2.bin

Thanks! There are a lot of functional hacks that are far better... mine are only graphic hacks, but it is nice to know that they are appreciated. Here is the new WIP of Balloon Fight. There are a few things I'd still like to fix if I can figure it out. 1)The platforms flicker and shift back to the original color 2)Red Balloons 3)Player 2 and "wave" colors are horrid While tinkering with the ROM, I also found out how to make the guys fat... which kinda makes them look more like the NES game. Unfortunately, this also throws off the collision detection a bit, so the player can partially go through the left edge of platforms. Another cool thing I found I could modify made the game skip the egg altogether... or seemingly so. The egg was replaced by a different colored enemy that could be picked up like an egg... but flew around like normal. This kinda gives the feeling of double hits. The last thing I found is a place in the code that when modified, it slowed down the upward thrust of the bird. This was cool to a point, because the VCS version of Joust always felt like it had too much power in the wings of the birds, but unfortunately in making this modification, the framerate seems to go down and the movement doesn't look as smooth. I don't know if I'll use any of these things in the end... maybe I can figure out how to tweak them. Balloon_Fight_v2.bin
