Finally got my feet wet with selling on Ebay!
uosipa llamxew replied to jetset's topic in Auction Central
mine is at 189 and i still havent sold anything I signed up with eBay in October of '99 to sell a boxed SegaCD/Genesis combo with 30 or so complete games (two or three were Genesis). I went to the trouble of coding html tables to list everything out nicely, included pictures of every individual item, and formatted the page to look like Sega's official homepage. In the auction I listed that the bidder would pay all shipping charges. Well, this lady in Texas wins the auction at just under 100 bucks. I collected her address and took the package to the post office to get an estimate on shipping. Shipping ended up around 21 bucks or so (the old SegaCD system isn't light... and this was quite a large lot besides!). Anyways, I emailed this lady with the total and she went into fits of rage over the price of shipping being too high. She went ahead and cut me a check. When she received the package and saw that I hadn't cheated her on postage, she apologized all of the place. I was sure that I was going to get a negative feedback on my first transaction. Since then I have only put up two or three other auctions, but I never made enough money to make the ordeal worth my time. -

NES Label Artwork Request (Goonies)
uosipa llamxew replied to Tempest's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Very nice indeed. :-) I was going to give it a shot, but I'm betting that this is exactly what Tempest was asking for. BTW, does anyone know of a service or person who can burn NES/FAMICOM ROMs? I would sure like to get a few titles running on my NES. -
atariages's saint valentin artwork
uosipa llamxew replied to khryssun's topic in Site and Forum Feedback
I like the logo transformations very much. For some odd reason, I have been collecting each of these that I've seen over the last months. Unfortunately, I didn't think to save the Valentine's Day logo before the Abe Lincoln logo took its place. Anyone have this on their drive that they might post to the thread? :-) -
I think maybe the shadow beneath is throwing you off? I held my copy of frogger to the screen to compare - perfect match. Then, I've been known to be wrong before.

The most appetizing cheddars I've seen in a while, I guess... Boy, is that game slow! I thought he was talking about the hotdogs that chase you. haha! The best port I have ever played of Burgertime was done on the Intellivision... even with the disc controls! Back in the day, I owned Burgertime for my VCS, and I was convinced that you could pop off the bottom of the cartridge and play it on the Intellivision... the top part of the cartridge is exactly the same size and shape of an Intv cartridge. Needless to say, I ruined my VCS cart. Oh well. Now I have a copy of the Intellivision version and I'm happy. :-)

I saw this a while back too, but didn't really check it out. Has anyone played the games? Are they any good? I'm really interested in seeing the standalone paddle game system. :-) I haven't bought any of the others because of the poor reviews I've read about them. Tonight I was checking out LikSang and saw some nifty standalone game systems... one was a 2-player steering wheel control with a racing game. Another was an updated version of Dragon Warrior, that you play with a sword and you actually slash at the screen!?! It looked pretty cool really. Maybe when I get some money...

Another Frogger Hopping out of control

OMG!!! It's loose and fugly! What is wrong with people?! -
LOL! Wrong board member - I think. Wasn't that thread by a guy called Sleep?

Here is a contest idea, with a good cause. There is a well respected board member who hasn't posted much lately because of some trouble with the phone company. My idea is to have a raffle, to build up enough funds to pay off the phone company and get him back online and posting here regularly again. But there is a matter of the raffle prize. What would be a good idea that people would actually buy a 2 or 5$ ticket for? (Nothing huge, obviously) Also, I'm not well known on the boards. This sort of contest would require someone who is pretty well respected and trusted to collect and hold the money gathered from tickets. Then I was thinking that we could leave it up to one of the mods, or Albert to do the actually draw the name out of a hat. So, is this something that anyone would be interested in taking on and trying? Would people buy a ticket if the prize was right? And what exactly should the prize be?

Phone companies suck! They jerk you around, charge you out the butt, and then make you go circles with a phone answering-machine if you need service. DOWN WITH THE PHONE COMPANY!!! On the other hand, when I was living back in Idaho, I called the phone company to discontinue my internet service because it was costing me too much per month. Well, I expected them to cut the service after my paid month was through, but they never did and I got free DSL internet service for about 1 1/2 years - until I moved out here to Washington. I still use that email account, but I am unable to dial in to the service anymore because of my location. But I know for fact that when I move back to Idaho, I have free service waiting for me. Hey, it's their own stupid fault for being so lazy and never getting around to turning off my service!

Looking for a 72 pin NES connector
uosipa llamxew replied to liquid_sky's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I have heard that if you use a Game Genie, it will bend the pins, making for a bad connection. But then I have also heard that using a Game Genie full time on the older style NES will eliminate the connection problem, because it fits so tightly with the pins. I'm not sure how true that is, but it seems to make sense. -
FS: Autodesk Inventer Series 6 (Graphics Design Software!!!)
uosipa llamxew replied to BTHOTU's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I'd be interested, but I don't have that kind of money. :-( -
I'm not sure if you have a computer to access the net or not, but Netzero and Juno offer 10 hours of free service per month - you just have to deal with their connection software and commercial advertisements. Or also, I am using a service called Access4Less (access4less.com). Service is like 5.95 per month, and is much better than the service I was getting from Netzero. You can't beat the price for sure.

I missed out on Frog Pond. Any chance I can get my name on your preorder list for this one in case you succeed in burning the chips? (Am I jumping the gun?) Shootin' Gallery plays great on an emulator. I can only imagine playing it with a zapper on the real machine! *drool*

<<< also born in '77. My brother, sister, and I were all Pacman addicts as well. I had seen, but never played the arcade version. I remember rising at 4 or 5 in the morning and running downstairs to get a game or two in before the others would wake up. Unfortunately, my older sister usually beat me to it. (Although she didn't play many of the games, she could always kick our butts at those games that she was interested in. Later on, it was Solomon's Key and Punchout. She's been stuck on Tetris Attack since SNES days. I have to play on the lowest difficulty while hers is on the highest, and she still beats me! AAAH!) Anyways, back to the topic. When I first discovered emulation many years ago, the first Atari game that I even thought to try was Pacman. I was very surprised to find that so many people hated the game. Of course, now I can see the reasoning, but I just had never thought much of it back in the day. Now it is rare that I ever play this game, but at the very least I have very fond memories of the game that everyone else loves to hate.

I received the patch yesterday. It arrived promptly and in perfect condition - something I've come to expect from Atariage. :-) The patch itself is top quality. I'm very impressed! Sending my thanks to everyone involved.
