  2. Maybe he saw the other decent size auction (lits of games inc with Super Cobra and Tut) that only went for $200. Always part out the best games.

That was mine :) The super cobra and tut were only boxes... and your advice doesn't apply to Canadians. Shipping cost here means no parting stuff out unless you only sell it locally I guess but then you get a bad price anyway :) I'm quite happy with 200$, although it's kindof annoying it was going nicely at the beginning and then the high bidder retracted their bid and it flatlined lol.

Actually I could have sold the high end boxes separately, but the rest I do not think would have sold in that case. I could be wrong, I hate selling stuff, but I can't bear to throw anything out.

  3. I can break 6 mill nice and quick on DD too and could probably get higher with a little effort.. We need to do this one in the High Score contest! But not next one as I'm going to Indonesia :)

I would love to see you get to 6 million

How fast is nice and quick?

Lol, well it feels nice and quick since I love this game :) I actually haven't timed it but thats somewhere between 1 and 2 hours I think. I won't make it to over 6 every game though. It only takes 1 screw up with the guards and your done.

When you get over 1mill, I have found it's good to ween the guardsmen down so that you can wipe out all 3 quickly at once and get the bonus points. Thats how you get the fastest points.

  4. Is it really that much worse than something like centipede? I'm sure one could pull off a slightly modified version at least.

Until somebody codes it you don't know ;). You wouldn't get near having 50 moving objects on screen at the same time tho (so its not a patch on the 7800). However, you could do a passable version of Berzerk on Inty without too much trouble.

  5. Could both controllers be used by one player so that one disc is for moving, another for firing?

The controllers aren't the limiting factor. Its the video display system that only has 8 hardware sprites. You could do the equivalent of some software sprites by resequencing GRAM BACKTAB cards. However you don't have many of those to play with either.

  6. I'm sorry, I just don't like the INTV controllers. I love it's originality, but it's just not comfortable.

Animan, people like you and I who grew up with later controllers may not be as accepting of INTV controls. The first controller for me was the NES, so older controllers in general aren't as intuitive for me. I look forward to playing my INTV II more this August, and seeing if I adjust to it.

It really depends what kindof game you are playing. For most arcady type game I agree, the nes controller feels more intuitive, but for RPGs, sports or basically anything that needs to do more than move jump and fire the intellivision controller with the overlays is way more intuitive. If you play space spartans or if you compare playing treasures of tarmin to like wizardry on the nes, it becomes obvious how much easier it is to not have to scroll through the menu every time you want to attack, cast a spell, whatever.

  7. Except for INTV II controls, I never gave them a bad rap. They're just different.

INTV II the buttons are too hard and keypad isn't as good.

Once you get used to remembering the positions of the buttons, I found the keypad much nicer on the 2. Those stupid bubbles inevitably get stuck for me regardless of how many different ones I try and I have to flick them with my fingernail to try to release them (after I'm dead of course)

  8. I must be missing something with cloudy mountain, it must be time to give that game another try.

Yes. Yes you are! Seriously, I could see where someone new to the game/system might not be so impressed, but those of us that grew up playing it back in the day, the AD&D games were a total blast. Still love 'em today. Give it another try and stick with it for a while! The "arcade" element of shooting Demons is pretty gratifying and the game can still surprise and scare you from time to time :)

I did play it back in the day, thats when I decided I didn't like it.. I loved tarmin, but I just never "got" cloudy mountain.

  9. I never set out to collect those variants, but by buying so many lots on Ebay, I've managed to get quite a few of these.

I have all the ones you listed above IIRC, is this a complete list or are there more?

I started to look at variants and found out that almost every cart I had was different from the others of the same title in some way so I decided not to bother with them.

  10. I was using my ECS this morning on my Inty 1, so I can confirm it works on that model as well, and while you have to do a mod to your Inty 1 to use the system changer, it is possible.

Beyond the Coleco games the following Intellivision games don't work properly on an Inty II as well:

Space Spartans, Shark! Shark!, Super Pro Football.

I only love playing Space Spartans on my 2.

As 4 the Tron guy, too bad cmart as u were on AGT this week lol :)

What is it that doesn't work properly about space spartans? I haven't noticed any issues.
